  • Myannar Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup (Ohn-No-Kauk Swe | အုန်းနို့ခေါက်ဆွဲ) is the 2nd most popular noodle dish or national dish in Myanmar after Mohinga. In Myanmar, people enjoy Ohn-No-Kauk Swe for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is a one-bowl-meal that you can enjoy anytime of the day!
This Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup is also popular in Thailand but it originated from Myanmar. In Thailand, it is called Kao Soi and it takes on the exotic Thai red curry flavors, which is spicy and sweet. In Singapore, I've had a similar noodle dish called Laksa made with Seafood and coconut milk and and that is also delightful.
Anyhow, when you make this Myanmar Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup at home I'm sure it will become one of your favorite go-to soups because it is flavorful and comforting! There's something about chicken noodle soups that just warms your soul!

Can’t wait to try this! Thank you, Aye. Oh, and maybe you could consider making a video on how to make Coconut Rice? That would be great!

I tried it and we liked it. The broth was a little thinner than I expected, maybe we needed to cook it longer

Ooh I don't like that but if I wanted to make it a little thick, do I just keep adding the Peanut powder she mentioned on the video?

Quick question, did you mix up the coconut milk in the can? Or did you take off the hard part that sometimes separates on the top of the can?

Hello MK Peter, great question! Sometimes coconut milk in the can separates into coconut cream layer and water layer. Yes, definitely give the coconut milk can a good shake before you open it.

I never knew that we can use peanut power instead of chickpea power.! Is the taste the same!

Hello the taste is pretty much similar ... generally speaking, you would not be able to tell the difference unless you have a very discerning taste. Peanut powder has a slightly sweeter taste versus chickpea powder. Both are equally good!

Hi, what peanut powder did you use please? I've tried looking it up from my stores but I keep getting "Peanut Butter Protein Powder" 😭😭
