Hi guys! I get a lot of comments about the process of applying to arch and the portfolio that you need to get in and I just wanted to put this here for everyone to see. I didn’t have much of an application process for Kent and I also didn’t need any sort of portfolio to apply so I’m definitely not the person to ask. Some schools require these things but at Kent there were no prerequisites to apply as they help you start to build your portfolio in year one. Sorry I can’t help more with this question!
I applied to Kent state at the beginning of October and I was supposed to go to the tour today but family emergency, I was wondering if you would be okay to answer some of my questions? If not that's alright!🙂
hi if you interested about Architectural ebook i have more than 1000 books, its good for reference, study or design techniques etc. its nice cause all book saved in google drive. if you interested, you can contact me at adnawri@gmail.com thanks.
Hahah i really love how u two support each other. In my architecture school, everyone sits with themselves, talk to no one, literally hide their projects and avoid eye contact with anyone around. Guess you guys r lucky and good luck with the pain cs its only the beginning, im in my final yr of bachelor degree and there was time that i had no sleep:
Hi, arch student here, and I am from Brazil. I dont know if you know this but if you're using a sharp blade and you cut your fingers, super glue is a nice way to quickly close the wound and stop the bleeding so you can keep on your model and stuff. You can do this if you wish, but if the wound is too deep, you have to clean it properly. Also, be aware of the amount of coffee you drink during the day. And try not to blame teachers that are apparently "mean" to you, they actualy may be the best ones. Btw, good luck in architecture!
For me it’s literally just going to work at my firm. Going to school. Going home and working on school. And repeat. Every single day. Haha. So interesting.
I’ve always worked this way! I know how stressful it is for other people but I always get my work done on time, just takes me longer than other people :)
A week of an architecture student: Doing your best at work, and at the end get roasted by your professor Why would they cut the tail though thats the best part
Well, in my humble freshmen (I'm also studying architecture) opinion, architecture is about space, creating a space, and the tail was more like a decorative ornament than a space characteristic
I just finished my interview for my college. The professor butchered me, asking me if I really want architecture to be my career after he saw my portfolio 🙃 needless to say, I passed.
Just seeing this as its going "viral" and i really like it. Im going to start studying architecture next year and Im really looking forward to it. I would also love to see you making this video again 10 months later and see what changed. Cheers!

Aw! The life of a first year😂 I miss those days. You’ll miss them too when you’re in my position working at a firm full time in my last semester of grad school. Enjoy it while it lasts!
@@alexv426 i don't hate it for sure but it's like a HUGE life test. Definitely wasn't mentally prepared for it when I first joined but then you get used to the lifestyle. One thing I don't love is that this course normalises an unhealthy lifestyle like not sleeping/eating on time, working extraordinarily long hours, no time for any other hobbies unless you're ready to sacrifice more sleep. It's like, every free minute we got, we slept. So no college parties, nothing. You gotta be ready to make this course your life or else you WILL lag behind. On the plus side, we got to travel quite a bit❤️. And I don't love subjects that have a lot of theory, so in a way, this course was ideal for me as it dealt with more practical work. I do sometimes wish I'd chosen something easier and shorter...but then again, i did survive Architecture so I guess it wasn't that bad in the end. 😄
Im a musician who is also majoring in architecture. But since architecture is my main major, sometimes i have to put music to the side. You'll have to learn how to sacrifice when you get into architecture. I have a teacher who is kind of famous for playing guitar, but is also an architect. When he was a student he said he had to put his guitar away for 4 years, just to focus in architecture. But its all up to you how passionate you are about your goals.
watching this during the pandemic makes me think about what could've been of my first semesters. All I got was staying up all night, not being able to have the materials needed to make my projects and professors that didn't teach me anything
1. Thanks for the shoutout 2. Nice jacket, I wonder who you got(stole) it from 3. Is that the game you were just playing at homecoming instead of talking to your date?
Hmm you can do it... Time management is the key. Review 1 week ahead for minor subjects like math english etc. So you have a lot of time making plates and esquiz. Trust me i'm an architect.
Skutoi or skhutoids are a Greek/byzantine term for the Shield and Troop type and formation. That was transferred into architectural shapes...Little history fact!

I wanna study architecture too but I’m still not sure cuz I heard it takes soo long to become an architecture I’m now 16 and am in the 9th grade. Some advice?

Would anyone here watch a day in the life of a Masters of Architecture student? Probably won't be as fun, but revealing at the least.
John Bowman i’m sure it’d be helpful for people trying to decide what path they want to take!!
John Bowman yess
For me it’s literally just going to work at my firm. Going to school. Going home and working on school. And repeat. Every single day. Haha. So interesting.
Definitely🙂
Yesss
you guys look like the annoying bunch that is loud and playing music on speaker while all the other students just want to concentrate in peace
lol ouch
I actually wish there were more people like them at my uni 🥺
LMAO btw you put pease, its peace vruther
green pease
But offensive
I pray that I have friends like you and Dylan when I go to college.
Well, how did it go?
I envy your school to have an equipment like that. I too is an architecture student but never had a room like that.
And you stay up late night at school ?? So cool i want to study there and experience the other world of architecture 💖

On a regular semester day, I can barely sleep one hour so this is very stressful to watch.
