Carmen and Lupita are hilarious. I found them on UA-cam and when they were talking about how people ask if they’re sisters they said “no, we’re just really close cousins”.
I know a set of triplets who got asked “what’s it like to be a triplet” all the time, the response they came up with was “what’s it like being born by yourself?” 😂 definitely puts things into perspective.
I love that, one time I went to a friends house and the lil brother asked “What does it feel like to be black?” And his mom smacked him in the back of the head and looked at me and said “Ask him how it feels to be white!”
I just stumbled on Carmen and Lupita on tiktok the other day and then tonight this video pops up in my recommended. Lupita is hilarious! This was such a laid back interview. I think you asked some important questions to help end stigmas but also kept it light hearted. A good mix.

slug the goblin I agree! Special Books by Special Kids is a GREAT channel that allows people with unique challenges to share what their lives are like.
This is why I love the hell out of this series and respect Anthony for doing it. It was the same thing for DID, everywhere I went to find out what it's like to have it, it's just DSM-5 excerpts and statistics and medical journal articles listing symptoms. But watching Anthony's video on it opened my eyes to the condition way more and helped me understand people with DID a whole lot better. I am a man of science, but sometimes there are better ways to learn about something than with numbers.
Wtf? Where were you looking cause there's a lot of great documentaries out there. The most interesting cases in the world are Abby and Brittany Hensel and Krista and Tatiana Hogan. There's plenty of good content to watch on both sets of twins.
@slug the goblin Sounds like you kinda do want to go to a freak show cause you're not considering how actual humans think and express themselves. They've never experienced anything different than what they're living now. You couldn't accurately tell us how different it is to be a single born person compared to being a conjoined person cause you've never been conjoined. You don't think about that on any regular basis cause that's not your reality. Why would you expect them to go about life thinking how different being conjoined is when to them it's normal. They're people, not exhibits. They have showed how they live so that should be enough.
grew up going to school with carmen and luptia, though we were never personally friends (few grades apart) this town adores them!! we all looked out for them in school and stomped out judgement and bullying. the town really rallies behind them, it’s really sweet.
I don't know if I'd be able to keep from being savage. "Are you sisters?" Me: Turns head to speak to twin. "See. Aren't you glad we aren't sharing a brain like that?" Or stares at them for an uncomfortably long time then says "Do you need more time to think about it?"
What Carmen said about basic human decency is so important. When it comes to disability, especially visible disabilities, people seem to forget that they're seeing fellow human beings. Disabled people are not attractions or information booths, they're people. If you're so curious about that person's condition you can either look it up on the internet or try to approach that person as you'd anyone else: with respect. Also, a lot of the questions people usually make themselves about disabled people boil down to "how can you live like that?" and the simplest answer is because they have no other choice. Human beings adapt to the life they live.
McKenna Bagger I am disabled and the reason I don’t like people calling me “differently abled” or something similar (and many of my disabled friends feel the same way) is because it sort of minimizes the challenges that we face. There are many things that I’ve learned how to do in my own way, but there are also things that I can’t physically do, and never will be able to do. “Disabled” simply means to be physically or mentally limited in some way (physically, in my case), which is accurate. There’s nothing wrong with it and the term “disabled” isn’t something that people should be scared of or uncomfortable with. I certainly don’t speak for everyone with disabilities though. This is just how I feel about it and something I’ve discussed with my disabled friends. And this is not meant to offend anyone, just to share the perspective of someone who has a disability 😊
Also, they are used to living that way. I’ve learned for example that people who were born blind have less regrets about it because they don’t know what they’re missing out on.
One of my struggles with having an invisible disability is people refuse to acknowledge that I struggle with certain things, or refuse to acknowledge I even am disabled and try to prove that I don't experience oppression, or that I'm not disabled.

Watching Anthony interview many people with different issues or previous experiences has shown me what courteous professionalism looks like. He’s very selective with the words he uses so as not to offend anyone. IIRC, he doesn’t use the term “normal” when regarding people with lifestyles that would be considered standard
I met a conjoined twin and both of those men were so cool. One was a magician and the other always said he was the only one that knew how he did it since they shared an arm haha
@Olive yea go through his old videos just 2 years ago this was a comedy channel then he rebranded to become serious the flat earth one and the i spend a day with youtubers were some of the first vids
I clicked on this because I’ve become a fan of Lupita and Carmen through tik tok. But I wanted to say thank you for the interview with formerly conjoined twins. I’ve never heard someone speak about that before. It was really eye opening!
omg ewwwwww I think they meant like is your mom conjoined to their sibling and is the dad conjoined to their sibling not conjoined to each other but ewwww
I can't say enough. Anthony, thank you for making the content you make. You are educating people. You are spreading awareness. You are giving voices a megaphone to use. You are an incredible person and I continue looking forward to the other ideas you want to share with us.
Anthony is a gem. He covers topics that not everyone would like to cover. Not that the topics are bad, but they're highly sensitive and not many feel comfortable displaying this "content". He introduces these beautiful people to break the level of discomfort or nervousness. He wants us to understand that the individuals being interviewed are no different from what we define "normal". This understanding allows us to look at a person for who they are, and not be define by their disability, social status, or religion.
I love how Anthony seems like he talks to all of his guests like they're just old friends. I'm sure it makes especially the harder subjects much easier to talk about.
My little cousins were actually conjoined twins. They were found in a ditch in China and brought to an orphanage. My Aunt and Uncle adopted them and got them separated in China. They’re now 7 years old and happy little girls 💕💕
Anthony I swear the way you navigate these conversations and situations is such a gift. Like you know where its appropriate, and even comforting and encouraging, to use humour and when not to. Its just so intuitive. This is definitely your purpose.
As someone who’s a twin but not conjoined, it gives an interesting insight of what our life could have been like. Or what we could have experienced. As someone who’s just a twin, we get the same questions when it comes to “Are you twins?” Interesting that the question is universal to even conjoined twins.
I dunno, what's surprising about them joking around? They're just people, after all. It feels like you're saying they're so brave and strong for having a sense of humor even though their situation is so bad. Both sisters seem to have pretty good lives going on. Not sure it's fair or kind to think of their situations as so bad that you're shocked they still have a sense of humor. 😕
You do know that people with hard lives don't make everything about their suffering 💀 being disabled/conjoined is normal for them, they'll treat it like that
Barbie Bish that was so crazy like I though hipsters like outfits and all they delivered was WE ARE ATTACHED AT THE HIP what like how did you even come up with that
I went to high school with Kendra and Maliyah thats crazy to see them in this video. They are awesome people and I'm glad you gotta talk to them Anthony!
"If they can't understand the concept of human decency..." This was perfect. I cannot imagine the ignorant comments all four of you girls get. Thank you so much for sharing your stories. Keep being strong and amazing!
clap to the little kid that said "THAT'S SO COOL" instead of freaking out in a negative way bc so many kids freak out and gawk when they see something weird
Ooooof that comment of someone saying they would kill themselves if they were in the physical position she's in... I've had that said to me. I was born with Spina Bifida and am now basically wheelchair bound.. That very similar statement was said to me while I was on my honeymoon. 🤦 It's just disheartening that so many people think individuals who have a disability lead a sad and depressing existence. I have my trials..but I'm thankful to be alive.
It's because people live in their reality. So they adapt to it. If you never experienced something. It can looks worse than it is. Because it would stop you from doing something you were able to do before. But like you said. Having physical disease doesn't stop you from being happy. I wish you a great marriage btw
The person who told you that is obviously living a way more sad and depressing life if he thinks someone else should kill themselves. What a loser. Props to you for being positive!
id love to see a day with addicts - of all forms - the stereotypical looking ones and also ones that look like a "normal person", would be amazing to see an insight into their struggles
@@serenityarres6029 I got alot of help.. The hardest part was rebuilding my life, some relationships etc will never be the same. But that's Okey, it's hard to except, but not every one will be able to forgive you for the chaos you made.
Anthony, never stop this series! You’re the most empathetic, understanding interviewer I’ve ever seen. You approach such stigmatized and complex topics with love everyone deserves. The world seriously needs this right now!!
I would love to see “I spent a day with people with Bipolar Disorder” it’s a disorder with very negative connotations and it would be good to get some word out to dispel some of the bad thoughts about it.
His intentions behind the interviews shines through. He’s not trying to make a spectacle and exploit people, he wants to give them a platform from which they can be themselves and let his audience see that their preconceptions should be questioned. You can see by the way his interviewees react to him that he’s great at forging a connection. I think this all mitigates the risk. In my experience, if someone who is genuine offends you accidentally, you won’t make a big thing out of it.
You're a wonderful person, Anthony, for giving these people a chance to be heard, and a place to comfortably be themselves and tell their stories and struggles & for educating us about them. This has been illuminating, inspiring, and humbling. You have definitely come a long way & I hope you go more ways further - keep on doing the good that you do, and I don't doubt one bit that you will. Peace & love to everyone!
He has been one of my favorite UA-camrs since UA-cam existed! I just wish he would chill out on Twitter. He sometimes acts like he is an expert on the topics he has covered.
"Are you sisters? Are you twins?" "No, Voldemort attached himself to me and took over my body and soul". All jokes aside this was so interesting and Carmen and Lupita are super funny and have such a good attitude in life.
How sad is it that a child thought it was so cool they were conjoined but adults say rude things to them and try and follow them around to take pictures of them? I just don't get how people could do that.
Respect to Carmen & Lupita for promoting the Shusse Inari shrine! I didn’t know there was a Shintō shrine in the US and I’ve been to quite a few in Japan. I’ve also written reports on Shintōism. It’s a very beautiful ideology and I’m glad the Japanese traditional respect of nature can be spread through it⛩🌸
One thing that would scare me if I was conjoined would be like “what if the other person died before me” like is surgery possible to disconnect the passed sibling?
It also really depends on if they share vital organs. For most twins who are harder to separate, they would likely die within hours of the other because the shared heart would stop. But if they have their own vital organs, there’s a chance one can be saved.

Love his language, saying things like 'people who aren't conjoined'
Watching Anthony interview many people with different issues or previous experiences has shown me what courteous professionalism looks like. He’s very selective with the words he uses so as not to offend anyone. IIRC, he doesn’t use the term “normal” when regarding people with lifestyles that would be considered standard
Daniel Joseph He’s honestly one of the best interviewers I’ve ever seen. He was born to make this series.
Yess! Everyone needs to speak this way. No microaggressions needed🥺💕
Exactly! We need more of that.
It's nice seeing respect and not just saying 'like normal people'
I love how Carmen is like the talkative one and then Lupita just cuts in with the most random things 😂
Me too!!!

That little kid that said, "THAT'S SO COOL!" was raised right.

I love how Anthony has a understanding of everyone and doesn't pressure them we need more interviews like him
A similar channel that also interviewed Carmen and lupita is sbsk
Anthony is a gem. He covers topics that not everyone would like to cover. Not that the topics are bad, but they're highly sensitive and not many feel comfortable displaying this "content". He introduces these beautiful people to break the level of discomfort or nervousness. He wants us to understand that the individuals being interviewed are no different from what we define "normal". This understanding allows us to look at a person for who they are, and not be define by their disability, social status, or religion.
Also he does this knowing most of these topics won’t get Monetized! That says something way stronger about his character!
Yes! I appreciate Anthony so much.
They are not normal in some ways, but not ALL ways, just like everyone else. No one is 100% normal and thats ok
"She got the Kidney AND the Lollipop" had me dying on the floor laughing
I love how Anthony seems like he talks to all of his guests like they're just old friends. I'm sure it makes especially the harder subjects much easier to talk about.
My little cousins were actually conjoined twins. They were found in a ditch in China and brought to an orphanage. My Aunt and Uncle adopted them and got them separated in China. They’re now 7 years old and happy little girls 💕💕

Oh bless you! :) Hope you have a wonderful day and life
It's because people live in their reality. So they adapt to it. If you never experienced something. It can looks worse than it is. Because it would stop you from doing something you were able to do before. But like you said. Having physical disease doesn't stop you from being happy.
I wish you a great marriage btw

@@tbhcreechur me too ❤️ just hope you know your not alone I have Bipolar too
Skam
legit had been thinking the same thing a couple of days back
Anthony risks his entire career with these vids he could slip up the tiniest bit and say something controversial respect
He does a lot of research and educates himself correctly, that’s why he isn’t afraid to slip up.
And editing. if he does, he could just apologize to them and cut it out.
Honestly he's epic even if he says something wrong I'm sure he'll truly apologize and hopefully everyone would be cool with it

I was thinking about that too...
@@s.taylor2545 interesting, thanks so much!!
if one of them dies then im sure that the other will die soon after
This was my exact question
It also really depends on if they share vital organs. For most twins who are harder to separate, they would likely die within hours of the other because the shared heart would stop. But if they have their own vital organs, there’s a chance one can be saved.
