- YKK® AquaGuard® Water Repellent Zippers are a practically waterproof zipper with great strength and smooth operation. A metal single pull non-locking slider and metal starter box/pin is included. The polyurethane coating (shiny outer surface) increases water repellency but reduces the flexibility of this coil zipper. Because of this, AquaGuard zippers are not recommended for projects with curves. AquaGuard zippers are perfect for outdoor applications requiring moisture protection or an airtight seal.

The patent 's exclusive time frame has ended and a whole lot of zipper companies offer this product now, some like KCC zippers even have biodegradable track zippers, which are water/air tight.
Can this be used on a drysuit? Ones for kayaking where you might fall in the water and the jacket is sealed with a zipper

It is usually the zipper's teeth that are damaged. If so, the whole zipper will need replaced.
YKK is the Best sipper at all times. Have a problem with my old rainjacket where the zipperhead or what ever you Call the slider that openes and closes the zipper. I just pulled the zipper up, and the slider game apart. Four or more Tiny parts disappered on the Ground. Now I Wang to change the bottom zipper to the upper zipper, and I have disconnected the slider top. Now, there is a little hook which I guess is the lock in the zipper, but how will I turn that locker hook? And in which order will the little parts come when I put the zipper slider together again? All this trouble because I am very very happy with my raincoat with th rainproof YKK zipper:)

Does this zipper have a water resistance rating out?
The aqua guard zipper is completely waterproof. However, if there is stress on the flange of the zipper, that causes the middle seam above the zipper's teeth to open up, that is where leakage may occur. Is there a waterproof rating, no.
Can these be welded to pvc?
The outside surface has a PVC coating so if that side is bonded to the PVC it can be glued, not sure about welding.

how will this work on my roll up windows I would like to install?
If the windows are smile face windows (they take a curve) this zipper will not work well. Since the flange of the zipper is coated with a vinyl they do not take cures well. Use the YKK Coil #10 Zipper without the AquaGard for those types. Now... if you zipper is a straight zipper it will work great.
