    End burning? Or core Burning? In my case core burning always CATO’s too hot i think

    • @PassfireRocket
      @PassfireRocket  3 місяці тому

      Core. If it catos then either the fuel is hot or the nozzle is too small

      Core burning isn't suitable for black powder because higher burn rate. So end burning is best for black powder based propellant or another fast burning propellant due smaller burning surface area. But for slower burn rate like rocket candy core burner is suitable due bigger burning surface area. So always test the propellant burn rate to determine it will suitable for end burning or core burning. Then we can maximize the thrust without causing CATO

    What is the size of the stick for a 3/4" rocket?

    • @PassfireRocket
      @PassfireRocket  Рік тому

      I cant tell you the exact size. Because of different weight, density thickness, etc.
      but a rocket without heading balance it at the nozzle.
      And for headings balance it according to the weight of the heading. For 2 inch heading on 3/4 inch rocket. Balance it between 1/2 the length of the tube and 1/3 the length of the tube measured from the nozzle.

      A hot fuelled rocket can use a shorter stick, i always used 900mm sticks on 1lb hot fuelled corner burners with 3" headers. Balance point is more important for slower rockets :)

      @PassfireRocket  Рік тому +1

      @@colspyro Definitely agree with you. I'll keep that in mind
      But don't you think even with hot fuel if not properly balanced it doesn't achieve the ideal height

      I never had any issues with height, longer sticks tend to weigh more which also has an affect on the height :)
      I press my motors for consistent results and its very relaxing compared to hammering.
      If you are limited on chemical supply i`d recommend trying Yankee`s Flashing Stars (3/8" rolled or pumped)) in a 3" ball shell header. Its a very cheap comp that delivers a big effect.
