    I think this is one of the best channels Ive seen in a long time....... Most of,,,, if not all the other pyrotechnic channels wont put recipes up like they are scared to.. I really appreciate those, your honesty and quick replies... We must share knowledge otherwise it would vanish from history.... We are a dying breed

      Thank You so much bro😄. That is the best thing anyone has ever told me. Really appreciate it.
      And indeed it is a dying hobby due to heavy regulations and restrictions.

    Metal firework stars require a large amount of heat to ignite them, can you show me how to prepare the mixture to coat them?

    Brother, is it necessary to dry them before star prime and why?

    • @PassfireRocket
      @PassfireRocket  8 місяців тому +1

      It is better to dry it. Otherwise the prime will dry before the core. And it might take longer time to dry

    Im trying to make a star roller out of a old fan,,, I havent tried it yet cause I think it runs too fast but after seeing this I might give it a go.. how much green comp are you mixing up for that amount of seeds?

    • @PassfireRocket
      @PassfireRocket  11 місяців тому +3

      Yeah bro , AC fan motor runs fast. Hand rolling takes time but it work.
      And I used a little less than 1 table spoon of seeds for 100 Gram Comp for 5mm star.

    I wouldn't work with a soluble Ba compound bare-handed. I don't trust my hand washing to keep me from ingesting any comp.
    I suppose if a bucket is all you have, it works, and I don't doubt your results. 30 years ago we watched Dave Bleser's round stars video at a Long Island Pyrotechnics Association meeting. I had the good fortune to have a set of mostly-round stainless steel bowls. Their sides are round though they have a flat area on the bottom, and their shape makes for easier 2-hand manipulation, and you can see the progress you're making easier than with a bucket.
    I still don't make round stars often. I don't think the time is worth it unless they're color-changing stars. If I had a roller, then the situation would be reversed and it'd be easier to make round than cut, pumped, or box stars.
    Sometimes partway thru the alternating wet-dry rolling method I'll switch to the toro method, i.e. slurry. The switch is usually occasioned by a need to smooth out spikes or other projections on the growing stars, or if I get a buildup of sludge in the bowl and want to take it up as slurry.

    • @PassfireRocket
      @PassfireRocket  5 місяців тому

      Thank you for the tips. I agree that cut or pumped stars are easier. Also, sometimes round stars trap moisture.

    • @francisdec1615

      Speaking of Bleser, I'm rolling a batch of Bleser Aqua right now, although it goes slowly. Pumped stars are usually much easier to make.
