I enjoyed this day in the life! I am a stay at home mother of 2, homeschooling, reading, all the things! It is so refreshing to see another woman living as I do.
Oooh that is so cool! Glad you have found my channel! What has been your favorite subject to do this year? I have been delightfully surprised to absolutely love our science curriculum- Science in the Ancient World.
How lovely to see you vlogging again Kate! Loved seeing your enthusiasm for all the books, the meal, the movie and you looked so cozy reading in bed. It looked a lovely day!
Thank you for this vlog, Kate. It was so relaxing to watch. Lenten Lands sounds fascinating; I love C.S. Lewis. I love reading memoirs about beautiful mother/child relationships, where the child in the relationship looks back with love and understanding towards his/her parents. It really inspires me a lot as a mom.
So glad you had such a lovely Epiphany (also known as Old Christmas Day here in Newfoundland - little bit of non-essential trivia! 😁)! Full of so many wonderful blessings! Good for you and your family.
This combined all my favorite things! Get Ready with Me (what was the powder you were adding with the little brush?), traveling to the library, all the books and videos, cooking, and wrapping up the day! I'm so glad you had the energy to take us along. Also, I hope you enjoy the super fun Valentine's Day swap!!
Thank you so much, I always enjoy your vlogs! So happy for you that Epiphany was a good day for you. I started Trollope's The American Senator in December, then put it down. Now I've picked it back up and I think have hit my stride with it. Take good care.
Such a nice video Kate! I'm glad you had a good day too. I saw Shadowlands some years ago and found it so poignant. And I loved 84 Charing Cross Road - I had read the book also some years back and then was so glad to find the movie. And your candlelit table setting was beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I just love a day in your life! Thank you for sharing ❤ Masculine men? Ok, I'm gonna read that book. I heartily agree about it being a breath of fresh air (swoon). At first, I panicked when you spoke about the valentine candy and book swap. I was like "wait what day is this?!" 🤣 Your candlelight dinner was so peaceful and touching.
Ooo, Terrilee and I both enjoy Katherine Reay-and both of our favourite book of hers is her debut, “Dear Mr. Knightley.” It’s epistolary, and highly inspired by Daddy Long Legs, but also contains many, many homages and references to classic literature. Its wonderful!!
The next time I need a washroom I'm going to ask "is there anywhere in this monastic establishment where a lady can relieve herself?" I really need to read Douglas Gresham's book 😆
(Melanie here) Hi Kate, I am just now reading Aurora Floyd that you sent me and enjoying it very much! I also found the audiobook on UA-cam so I have an enhanced reading experience :) The week before this I finished The Woodlanders by Thomas Hardy which I loved.
I love the movie Shadowlands! Interesting books you talked about especially 84 Charing Cross Rd and Lenten Lands. And you're a fellow knitter too! Yay!
Very much enjoyed this vlog! As a fellow CI warrior, I'd be interested in seeing your low energy days even if it's just a cozy curl up on the sofa to read ❤
Cannot wait to view this video; I love your enthusiasm! So, I actually DID purchase the mass market edition of DOTF (SO excited!), and if it's still not too much trouble, would so appreciate your indication of the rape scene/pages. Thank you so much! Also, I was homeschooled (still the most awesome blessing of my life); I graduated with a degree in Education primarily with the intention to (Lord willing) homeschool someday, as well. So, to say that I think it is the coolest/most precious thing that you value and cherish books with your kiddos this way is pretty much an understatement
LOVE your comment on masculine men. 100 agreed. I'm going to look into 84 Charing Cross Road as I had not heard of it until your mention. I DO deeply admire Sir Anthony Hopkins, though. LOVE, LOVE his performances in both Howards End, as well as The Remains of the Day.
I'm so excited that you got Daughter of the Forest! If I were you I would skip page 199 and 200. You should be good to go doing that. I really hope you love it! Thank you for such a lovely comment too!
Enjoyed your vlog!! Thank you:). If you could suggest kids books: picture books, nonfiction, elementary read, i would love your recommendations on that:). And Tv series and movies suggestions 😊. Love your channel ❤️

I'm so glad that you were having a good energy day and that it coordinated with your epiphany feast! I miss Delaware libraries! 😢
How wonderful, Kate. Glad you had a good day and I’m very intrigued by Lenten Lands. 🥰♥️
Good to see you, Kate. ❤️🤩 The knitting connection between you, the movie, and the book was fun.
Thank you, Doris! I love finding handicraft portrayed in books and movies.
I love so much that you sang “All the annoying errands are done!” 😂 Terrilee and I do that all the time!!
😂😂This is fabulous!

Oooh The American Senator is one I own but haven't read. That's great that you are enjoying it!

Thanks so much! They are both excessively cozy.

I enjoyed your vlog. I always find it interesting to see what readers do with their time when they aren’t reading!
Thank you!

Dear Mr. Knightley is my favorite Katherine Reay, too! Although, I really liked The London House.
I love your vlogs! Thanks for sharing your good energy day with us!
Thank you, Bethany!!
Yay vlogs! Thank you for sharing 💙🌿
Also I want you to know I am taking Daughter of the Forest on my honeymoon and I'm excited as heck
Ahhhh you have made such a wonderful decision to bring Daughter of the Forest as your honeymoon reading! I hope you love it.
The next time I need a washroom I'm going to ask "is there anywhere in this monastic establishment where a lady can relieve herself?" I really need to read Douglas Gresham's book 😆

It's such a beautiful movie! Yay for knitting! Do you currently have a project on the go?
I am working on a neck scarf with very fine yarn@@katehowereads
@@joyceredman2136 Nice, I hope you enjoy your project!
🚨🚨Kate vlog 🚨🚨😍
🥰🥰🥰
P.S. the colors in that blanket are beautiful 😍
Very much enjoyed this vlog! As a fellow CI warrior, I'd be interested in seeing your low energy days even if it's just a cozy curl up on the sofa to read ❤
Thank you! So sorry we're in the same terrible club together. I will think about it. I guess it would feel quite vulnerable to vlog a fatigue day?
This was really lovely Kate!
Thank you!
Should I continue with the Daughter of the Forest series?! I do miss Juliet M’s writing 🙌🏻
Son of Shadows (book 2) is definitely worth it!
Cannot wait to view this video; I love your enthusiasm!
