Funny how entering the 2023 season the Texans was laughed at for trading their 2024 first rounder to move up to draft Will Anderson because they was picked to have the worst record. Nobody expected Houston to be any good. It’s amazing what a good coach and Qb can do. And by the way Texans offensive line was horrible last year CJ was running for his life all their starters was hurt and the line literally had third stringers and a walk on
@@vickmcfadden833 That’s true. There was a lot of hate for trading up for Anderson because everyone thought they would have been bad. I guess my question is then what if the Texans drafted Young instead of Stroud? Because no one is perfect or even close to good with drafting QBs. I think the Texans got lucky but they deserve credit for taking Stroud. With the Texans offensive line though, the point was comparing his offensive line to Young’s offensive line. Many analysts will tell you that sacks are as much a QB stat as an o-line stat. How a QB moves and sees things behind the line can have just as much of an impact on how often he's pressured and sacked as the quality of the blocking. In this regard, Stroud improved significantly over the course of the season, while Young did not. I think the height issue cannot be ignored here, as Young, at 5'10", simply cannot step up into a pocket and still see his reads nearly as easily as Stroud can at 6'3", and so he would bail out and try to run either backwards or to the sides when pressure could have been avoided by stepping forward. I also question whether Bryce Young really had much in the way of elite traits. He could play very well off schedule, but that was against college defenders running college schemes. We've seen numerous examples of players who look very athletic in college, but compared to NFL players, simply aren't anything special. I think Young ran afoul of this particular issue, as he just doesn't seem to have the athleticism to consistently make the same plays against NFL caliber athletes. His arm talent has never overly impressed me either, as his arm strength was just average, and his accuracy was good, but nothing special. Maybe he processes information very quickly, but it certainly hasn't been very apparent in the NFL if he can. And that's not including his notable lack of size and stature.
The Texans had a horrible O line last year. They had injuries up and down the line and played numerous lineman… CJ made them look better by getting rid of the ball quick and play calling…we also had no running game. CJ succeeded because he’s that good. Bryce is too small and was a hype job. Fairly simple.
@@iAmEdwinHamilton They did not have a horrible offensive line. It wasn’t great and it wasn’t that Stroud was the sole reason making them look better. I don’t think it’s simple to say Young is too small and that’s why he was bad. Because there is other QB’s, granted a few, that have succeeded despite being small. Young was terrible under pressure, he didn’t provide the out of structure plays that he was expected to and well capable of doing. That’s why.

Let’s just call it like it is the Panthers are a shitty organization and they have an awful owner that doesn’t know what he doing Trust me as a Texans fan I have experience seeing what a bad organization looks like. We took our lumps and I had some doubts with Nick Caserio but he and obviously hiring Demeco pretty much changed the culture. As for C.J and Bryce I always wanted C.J because pretty much he was perfect for the west coast offense we are running. He accurate he has a great arm and he 6,4 and I thought his ceiling was Joe Burrow and his floor his Geoff. Honestly if you have a Jared Geoff like QB who is at the top of the list of the second tier QBs right now then you have something. I didn’t want Bryce because his size was an issue and I didn’t think he would be a fit on our offense. But I always thought he could be a good QB in the league. It’s just that the Panthers ruined him pretty much, he has no confidence and this is not the organization that can help him gain his confidence. If I’m Bryce Young after this season I’m not showing up to Carolina ever again. I would ask for a trade I would say go to the Rams learn behind Stafford and McVay and sit for a few years until he ready to take over once Stafford hangs it up.
Right now Nick Caserio is looking like a genius haha but I agree. The only thing is Bobby Slovak runs the Shanahan scheme (with deviations), it’s not the west coast offense, despite what people say(Shanahan has come out to say that, also being mad about it lol). I definitely think he should go to the rams and sit for a few years. Love a lot of what you said!
This is an easy question. Young failed because the team they had around him was atrocious and he didn’t have the talent or willpower to overcome it. And he has an impulsive owner. Frank Reich was a good coach. Stroud succeeded because he already had a Pro Bowl left tackle guarding his blind side and had a pretty good team around him and he had a better coach. Like Joe Burrow. Everyone who was thrust into Burrows situation would not have succeded like he did. Bryce Young was thrown into a similar situation and he couldn’t overcome it. If Stroud had went to the Panthers o don’t think he could have overcome It either. Now this year Stroud has an all star team around him. Pro Bowlers and all Pros all over the place. The Panthers had 1 pro bowl player and he is a defensive tackle. When Burrow got to the Bengals Jessie Bates was the only All Pro on the defense. Yes Geno Atkins was still with the team in 2020 but he was hurt all year. And AJ Green was still with the team but he was also hurt most of the year and on the back 9 of his career. Joe Mixon was on the team but he misssd 10 games in 2020 and he wasn’t a Pro Bowler until 2021. All Burrow had was Tyler Boyd and a rookie Tee Higgins. That’s it. He had the 31st ranked offensive line. And the next season in 2021 he brought the Bengals to the Super Bowl behind the 28th ranked offensive line and the next year he brought them to the AFC championship again. It took the refs for the Chiefs to win that game. On another bitch ass call they won the game. Just like in week 2 of this season. A bitch ass call.
I would agree with that for the first year of Young but this year is a different since they overhauled the line and it is a good unit now and them bringing in Johnson was a good move. That said, I agree with a lot you said.

Let’s just call it like it is the Panthers are a shitty organization and they have an awful owner that doesn’t know what he doing
Trust me as a Texans fan I have experience seeing what a bad organization looks like.
If Stroud had went to the Panthers o don’t think he could have overcome
It either.
A Bryce apologist. It makes me sick. Bryce is too small, has less arm talent AND had problems with coaching and support.
@@Gary-h9n I mean while I did defend Young in the supporting cast area, I did knock him for play under pressure and out of structure plays.
I don’t think that equates to being a Bryce apologist.
Maybe what Shannon Sharp, Ocho Cinco and Tom Brady said… That Stroud had a better offensive line waiting for him… And more tools is actually factual. 🤔🤔Just maybe. I happen to listen to those people. Time will tell. It will be interesting to see what happens against the Commanders.
All Alabama QBs are ass. I was shocked The Panthers took Bryce over CJ. Im a Dolphins fan, So I know what im talk about. We took Bum ass Tua over Herbert and Love. 😭😭
I don’t think think they are all bad, like Jalen Hurts and Tua might not be elite of elite but are good quarterbacks.
I know Tua has the concussion stuff but that aside, Tua is the best fit for Mike McDaniels scheme.
I loved Herbert coming out but there was reasons to not like him or Love.
None of those guys would be better in McDaniels scheme though
It's more simple this what you say: Stroud is really good and Bryce will never be even an average NFL QB. Simpliest explanation wins
That explains nothing.
@@JustAnFootballGuy Its not the other players or coaches, it's the QB. Does that make sense? No need to reach for other reasons
THis is my fav vid on the internet i go for the texans
@@user-fk4yq7dy3l thank you for watching! Texans Super Bowl this year?!
I’m halfway through this video and already annoyed. It isn’t simply a matter of CJ being in a better situation. CJ IS A MUCH BETTER QB!!! PERIOD!!! A better player in a better situation = a lot more success. I think some of you still don’t want to admit you were wrong about who the better player was in the draft process.
@@Lewis-me7jr The point of the video isn’t to say Stroud is better than Young. The point of the videos is explain why did he succeed and why did young fail.
I cover the obvious of the O-Line and Receivers. But the using facts, I explain that Stroud was better under pressure. That talking point is set up by me talking about the offensive line.
I explain that while Young’s offensive line was really bad, Strouds line was also not good.
I go on to explain that the scheme was holding up the offensive line. Protecting them, despite some of the guys being bad.
Then I go on to explain that Stroud was at first not good under pressure but then was a top 10 QB under pressure.
I could have said Stroud was a driver in why his Receivers were so good. But that is debatable and I can’t really back that up with facts.
That isn’t me denying Stroud was a factor but how am I supposed to prove that?
I never thought Young was better than Stroud. I liked Stroud better, because of what he showed at that Georgia game.
But truth is I thought they were 1 and 1.
Instead of being annoyed. Watch the whole video. Because my videos are the whole package. If you don’t watch the whole video, then you don’t get the whole picture.
I am not like other Football UA-camrs. I don’t flashy hot takes besides draft takes? Because I won’t make a video unless I have some proof.
I don’t make news videos, I make quality videos that breakdown stuff in a way the general audience can understand.
If this video was me just me Saying Stroud is so much better and Young just is a bust, then honestly it shouldn’t be watch. Those kind of videos are stupid, because that explains nothing.
I know what the point of your video was. I’m telling you that CJ is the better QB and it’s not even close. CJ would look like a solid second year QB in Carolina and if the Texans had drafted Young Davis Mills would be their starter now.
This comment aged well lol
