Dream Theater, the best band in the world in my book. They got a plethora of amazingly good songs So much to say about them, I don't even know which song to recommend, 25 of them at least come to mind, entire albums with only great tracks : Best : "Images and words", "Metropolis pt2", Heavier : "Octavarium", "Six degrees of inner turbulence" More Heavier : "Train of thought" (my favorite with metropolis part 2) Many great epics (10-20+ minute songs) : "Change of seasons", "Count of tuscany" And so many more... Would love to see you guys react to these :) that was a great reaction video have a nice day you made mine
Images and Words was their 2nd album, the first with James LaBrie on vocals. Pull Me Under, Metropolis Pt 1, and Under A Glass Moon from that album will give you a better taste of their regular, non-ballad, style. James LaBrie has also sung with Ayreon, a musical project by Dutch musician Arjen Lucassen. Arjen writes the music and invites guest singers to perform it. If you'd like to check that out, try The Day the World Breaks Down. That song features 11 singers, including James LaBrie and Floor Jansen.
Hi there, haven’t heard of Dream Theater before. The music sound really beautiful, and the band amazing. A brilliant upload and reaction ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you want more modern Dream Theater, try 'Illumination Theory'. It's around 20 minutes long. There's also 'The Count of Tuscany', or 'Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence'. All of them are a bit long, but well worth the listen. Thanks for sharing your great reaction.
These men are masters of their crafts. Their average song is 10-15 minutes. They write their music with math not chords lol. This album was cut to produce radio play, is their 2nd album, and they wouldn’t sell out in length of their music. Each person in the band have side groups and projects. The singer is a tenor in a 3 man opera group. After this you should check out their live Dance of Eternity and you will see the contrast. I also love the orchestra during the live performance
Nice ballady track from them, I've heard some of their other more heavy stuf which is really good. You have to do some more follow ups from this band. Cheers!
Never even heard of them, but I really liked this one. Kind of reminded me of Styx at times. Spectacular hair. Loved the voice, the guitar, the sax. All good. I'd listen to more.
The Solabros an emerging band from the Philippines features 3 young brothers who cover Dream Theater and are developing new original Prog Rock material. You should check out their cover of “Another Day”.
Perhaps it's time to revisit DT... I suggest "As I Am", from the album "Train of Thought". It's heavy, very heavy, and doesn't have many of the weird proggy time signature changes that turn so many people off them. Get a few more of their more "mainstream" songs under your belt (Pull Me Under comes to mind, but NOT the official video, which cut out lots of very interesting parts to make it MTV-friendly) before tackling proggy beasts like The Glass Prison, Octavarium, The Count of Tuscany, A Change of Seasons, Illumination Theory... the list goes on and on.
dt is such an amazing band i recommend you illumination theory live breaking the fourth wall in boston opera is an amazing powerful song full of emotion
Feels very 90's rock ballad- y. I mean, it's decent all around really. Nice lead and backing vocals, good instrumentals. It's a middle of the road listen for me though. No surprise there, eh? 😁 I'd give them another go though, as I didn't DISLIKE it. A bit wary of how heavy they might go, to be honest, but I'll hop on for the ride!
I am catching up today and Chuey has already stomped off. I have never heard of these dudes and now I know why, if this is their sound than meh. A little on the easy listening side for us, am I at the dentist?
@Chuey's Mama This was a bit of a soft sound on this. We have heard from the comments they have some heavier ones, we might follow up with something else. Hang in there.
@@BritPopsReact They don't have "some heavier ones"... almost ALL of their vast discography (I think it's like 15 studio albums spanning 30 years) is heavier than this one, except a couple of other ballads. This one's nice and melodic, but you coudn't have picked a lighter Dream Theater song.
@Peter Richards This appears to be more of their ballad style and we have been informed they can rock out too. We may pick something a little heavier next time.

A masterpiece
Really recommend Under A Glass Moon from the same album as this song. Heavy, chunky guitar riffs and a long great guitar solo.
I really really love 'The best of time' and 'The Spirit Carries On'...
I recommend perhaps trial of tears? A middle ground and a longish song when comparing their repertoire
The song that made me meet a guitar 😊

The song is BRUTALLLL. 🎸🎸

Glad you enjoyed it
The journey of Dream Theater is one of Epic Proportion.
Count of Tuscany has a nice mix of heavy and ballad
Nice, another band in the same style: Angra - Unfinished Allegro/Carry on

Great introduction to Dream Theater. My favorite bands are Dream Theater and Nightwish.
This song is very reminiscent of the stylings by STYX, around 1977 to 1985
@RickRack
One of the other comment also mentioned STYX, you must have a good ear.
Nice ballady track from them, I've heard some of their other more heavy stuf which is really good. You have to do some more follow ups from this band. Cheers!
@Lord Lockdowns Jukebox
Okeydokey, we will see what we can find.
Cheers me dears
Great band. Cool!Thank you friends, for a great reaction!🔥👍🇷🇺
Our pleasure!

@m.a. sperry
Someone else mentioned Styx too, they passed me by.
This was a nice Rock ballad and always nice to hear the sax.
Cheers
Cool find 👍There was a bit in this ..find another day bit .reminded me of tune before.😉 They were very good.💙🎸💙
@Debbie Reynolds
Thanks for the comment, we may follow up with something else from them soon.

Hi Phil, We finally recorded a reaction to them yesterday and will be out soon - November rain and you get a shout out :) Stay tuned!
You should play the song right before this one called Pull Me Under. It was actually their first and only chart topping hit amazingly

Try Home by them it's like Tool on steroids
@Orphydian▪Music
Thanks sounds interesting, we will try and get to that one soon.
Thanks for watching
@Orphydian-Music Haha i never thought of it that way but it's so true xD. "Home" is one of my favorite tracks, so unique !

Have you done Aryeon, The day that the World Breaks Down ? I think half of the reactor channels have done it in the past year...
Nope, I don't think we have. I will check that out.
Thanks

Saxophone?? I thought I was hearing a clarinet
@RickRack
Yes, it was Soprano Sax, I checked out the artists on the song, it was in a very high key.
Thanks for the watching

Who is mike portney.
@Steve
Good spot on Mark Portnoy, we often get things wrong to see if anyone is listening.😜
You get top marks
😂😁😀
@@BritPopsReact got it wrong again - it's Mike, not Mark! :D
Very much in the vein of Gary Moore, except Gary does is much better. TBH I'm not a huge fan of this type of rock, give me The Warning anyday.
