Now you've GOTTA listen to "Surrounded" off the same album!
I MUST agree to that! \m/
@@LTDdmg I remember the first time I listened to this album I couldn't believe it. It almost blew my head off. WOW
@@danno5662 Agreed, budda1!
Another Day is my favorite and Surrounded 2nd
Images and Words changed my life. I first heard Pull Me Under on the radio back in 93. Then I heard Take the Time also on the radio. I was blown away. I immediately went to Hog Wild Records here in San Antonio TX and bought the album. I had no idea what I was in for. Metropolis Pt 1, Under a Glass Moon, and Learning to Live just turned my musical world up side down. I love all kinds music but this album gave me hope that music at high levels of creativity and technicality was and still alive. Thank you for bringing back those memories. By the way, I've seen Dream Theater well over ten times and have met them twice (VIP tickets). I'm looking forward to meeting then a third time in Austin TX on May 1st.
So cool .. Bro I'm a Musician here in San Antonio ... been to Hog many many of times ... Sac area
@@vinnysandoval3433 Awesome to hear that. I went to SAC back in the early 90s and in 2002-2005. It's amazing that Hog Wild is still in business today. It's such an important part of the music history in San Antonio TX.
THIS is really the reason why I adore DT.... THIS song is HEAVEN.
Absolutely! First song i heard by them... and the rest is history.
Me too. They incorporate so many genres and styles in their music. Love DT.
Anytime I hear this song I want to start practicing and release my voice.
This one and Surrounded are the tracks I always skip on Images and Words. I just can’t get into this kind of cheesy AOR.
You probably dont care but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can stream all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf these days xD
I love the way he looks at you when he sees how happy you are
The two notes at 6:25 and 6:27 are the two of the greatest notes in music. 6:25 throws it in the air while 6:27 catches the most badass drop ever.
I can't believe you guys haven't reacted to Hollow Years - Live at Budokan version. Petrucci's solo is simply out of the world. In my opinion, his best solo hands down.
@@Turner-Be-Thy-Real-Name Tough to contain the shred monster once learned, ask Malmstein and his constant arpeggio assault. I actually agree with Blackmore ...less is often more.
where are ur reactions guys??? I REALLY LOVE U, because u r amazing people, with much soul and spirit, u have brilliant aura, I can see... I miss ur videos much, and I hope its everything ok to u!!! GOD BLESS U and every1 reading this comment!! best wishes and hugs from BRAZIL....
On April 3, 2022 Dream Theater FINALLY won the Grammy for Best Metal for The Alien!!!!!!!
One of the best songs ever produced. My favorite DT album, my favorite band. Just stunning.
Please react to Dream Theater - lifting shadows off a dream
This song and album takes me back to my college days at Ohio State University. It reminds me of fall and changing leaves, cool nights, etc. I 1st bought this on cassette at a music store right on High Street across from the Columbus OSU campus. Loved Dream Theater ever since!
Images without the Words lol Genuine reaction love this vid. Dream Theater FTW !!
I Was actually going through treatment for an autoimmune disease I had back in 1991 (PACNS) which kills 79& even with treatment & survived & this is one of the songs that got me through it..
images & Words is the best album of Dream Theater
Except if you've listened to Metropolis Pt.2 or Six Degrees....
@@SamBennett9910 - well there won't be any Metropolis Pt.2 if there is no Metropolis Pt.1.
@@beanstalker3292 There wouldn't be dt without i&w, not a good point.
@@SamBennett9910 - you mean KM.....
There are some people making great comments about Dream Theater on your comment section. Dream Theater have inspired so many people around the globe for the passed few decades. I'm privileged to be part of that community. Let's all give each other a thumbs up for appreciating one of the most powerful and epic prog rock/metal bands ever!!
Jay Beckenstein fro. Spyro Gyra played sax on this track. An absolute banger of a ballad
i later found who Spyro Gyra was... big fan... had been a fan previously of DT for years... then later realized that sax on another day was Jay... almost had a heart attack!!
Thats progressive metal rich. Always keeps u guessing whats gonna happen. That saxophone outro is totally unexpected.
While I wait you to finally get around to my songs I get to look into your back catalogue an low an behold This awesome gem appears... love this song (though I can’t understand what he sings cos it shatters the mirrors in our house)
Featuring Jay Beckenstein of Spyro Gyra. Incredible ballad.
Awwwww yeeeeaaaahhhhh! JLB's voice in its prime.
Saxy!
#caligulasHorse Graves Alabama
most inspired album by them! I would try learning to live next
I just discovered you guys tonight. I love your reactions and the honest emotions. Thank you for bringing this to me. I'm a disabled former musician and so miss playing.
one of my most memorable concerts of all times seeing dreamtheater back in 1993 in Seattle at the Paramount theater amazing new blood into the prog rock scene
This is when power ballads leveled up 10 folds.
The Petrucci explosion lol. Always great and most welcomed.
this song is art! one of the best songs ever
Sweeeet...powerful...fabulous
there is something about you guys that allows me to hear these songs for the first time AGAIN. I doubt that is your intention but it's a rare thing to hear songs you love for the first time a SECOND time. THANK YOU.
you guys radiate positive energy
I graduated high school in 1992!!! Way to make me feel ancient.....hehe Keep going!!!!!!
Awesome song from an amazing album! Keep 'em coming, you two are the best!
Saw them in Jacksonville for this tour.
# Dream Theater Space Dyed Vest Halifax Canada
Great suggestion, but I think you need to remove the space after the hashtag. I'm not sure they will see it otherwise.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Jay Beckenstein's contribution to this song. He is the sax player for Spyro Gyra and makes a guest appearance here. Incredible song and a powerful message.
I am so glad you like this band and feel the same feelings as I do when listening.
Dream theater ain't progressive thrash dude ! it's PROG METAL ! BABY :D
Don't worry, just a few more months until they know the labels of metal. Reaction channels are bound to say dumb things at first xD
He said in this order : Progressive, Thrash......
@@hunkwasbisyan007 there is no space in the way he puts it across, he clearly seize "I was not into progressive thrash" and thats fine many don;t know the true sub genes of metal, it's a big family, lovely couple though.
#Dream Theater Space dyed vest Halifax Canada. Love what your doing and the love between you two and the love you have for us.
The woodwind is the saxophonist from Spyro Gyra.
#wearewithyou OMG YOU SAID IT! human potential is truly only limited by human imagination! Yeesss! Welcome (officially) to the #metalfamily
that old school petrucci tone... love it...
I love your reactions and the dynamic shared between you two.
@Kel-n-Rich I just saw them this past Saturday in Philly. They were amazing. Can't wait to hear all about it.
Best singer in the world!! James Labrie
Kel-n-rich you guyz are beautiful..... Beautiful reaction keep it up😊
Hi Rich, what made me press Subscibe was how intense Kel's reactions to the song were. This is one of my favorite DT songs and there is nothing more satisfying (sexy too) than watching your woman groove into music you love. Thanks you both!
Awesomeness resction!
DT - This is the life :)
Glad that you guys reacted to this gem 😀
I missed this band for years now I cannot stop playing them. How I missed them is an answer I cannot explain must have been Yes, Rush, Maiden, Genesis, Marillion and so on.
Greet reaction to this awesome song y’all....saw them do this whole album in its entirety last year. You’ve got to see them live guys....Kel, they will give you massive goose bumps live 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥🌹🌹❤️❤️
Great reaction guys! Love this DT song. Rich, my nine year old grandson would freak if he saw your shirt. He loves anything to do with the space shuttle!!!
awesome song !! this was the first Dt song i ever listened to and i was amazed .. kinda wish you'd elaborate a bit more about another day ..
you have to do first reaction for "in the presence of enemies" , "honor thy father" and "hollow years" live at budokan . love you guys and what you represent and give voice to ... don't ever stop .
Literally just scored a Harmon/Kardon speaker this weekend. This song sounds freaking amazing coming out of it 🔊 love Dream Theater 🎭
Hey there! 1st time posting here. Happy upcoming Anniversary! I hope to meet you guys at the Orlando show.
DREAM THEATER is my favorite band since 1992!! Got everything they released and more!
Great channel!
I have to admit, I've been binging these videos since I discovered you two. I feel music the same way you guys express it. On top of that, I have this thing where being around someone experiencing a thing for the first time becomes a vicarious first time experience for me. I have tried to introduce many people to the music I love, insisting on being there when they listen for the first time. Only one of the many took to my type of music. Your videos are addictive as it gives me the same rush of hearing this stuff for the first time again. I was introduced to the prog rock genre a long time ago through Dream Theater who you seem to thoroughly enjoy and ran the gamut from Nightwish to Symphony X to Blind Guardian. The pinnacle of my taste in music has been crystallized in Ayreon. I had the privilege of meeting the mastermind Arjen Lucassen in Amsterdam last year. I see you have but a single Ayreon piece and I just must be a #painintheask and request my favorite composition. The Theory of Everything is an epic album, I would recommend listening to the whole album beginning to end as it is a story and an experience as much as an epic piece of music. However, it is well over an hour long, so if it must be cut to a single request, then
#painintheask Ayreon: The Theory of Everything: Phase 2 - Symmetry ua-cam.com/video/pMNy4QrzTM8/v-deo.html is my request. Enjoy!
I heard Dream Theatre covers a O'Keefe Music Foundation song
Dream Theater fucking rocks !
DT > abyss > any band that exists in this world. There is NOTHING like Dream Theater. They’re unique. Thanks for the video, Kel&Rich. We love you guys! Greetings from Brazil!
1992. I was in 11th grade lol Images&Words. I have their Live at Budokan 🤘
Jay Beckenstein making that sax sing.
It's great you guys can enjoy music together.
Love this song. Not really a fan of Dream Theatre but this song fits into the type of music I like. Great singing and guitar solo is amazing.

My favorite DT song ..... WAIT FOR SLEEP Kel ...... WAIT FOR SLEEP
John Petrucci is insane.
I highly recommend you The Best of Times w/ lyrics. Amazing very emotional song! Great reaction!!
#LOUDNESS "Crazy Nights" Florida Keys
Dream Theater is a great band and very underrated
Space shuttle t-shirt!
Yeah!
A team from my country (Israel) is just about to land a spaceship on the moon in 3 days.
This was the first time for me listening to this song.
Nice reaction!
Welcome back
Learning to live
Labrum was incredible in those days that damn shrimp robbed us of his Holden voice.
#DreamTheater Bombay Vindaloo Pembroke Pines, Florida USA
One of my absolutte favorites guys,So emotional..
The lyrics are by JP,for his father when dying.
Suggestion:Shadow Gallery-Crystalline dream.
You guys need to check out John Petrucci's solo album Suspended Animation, its phenomenal. Start with Glasgow Kiss
Nice react video. He guys react to DT live at the marquee, is a fenomenal live álbum. Cheers from Chile
PERIPHERY - REPTILE!
Sometimes I wish I could listen to this album for the first time again...
It is funny how a song can take you back to a place in time. I know this song as song 2 or the song that was after "pull me under". It was a perfect song to calm ya down from the epic 8 min start to the CD. Hard to believe the cd came out in 1992. The band was way to talented for their own good.
Great reaction! Loved this song since I first heard it back in '93. You have to check out a little known album titled "An Evening with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess". It's a live recording of just guitar and keyboards. The Rena Song is one of the most beautiful instrumentals you will ever hear. All the tracks are awesome but John wrote this one for his wife - and I can imagine this is the song Rich would write for you if he had any musical talent :). Warning: May bring a tear to your eye!
This song is sooooo se/axy ♥.
My request for another long-epic-song: #ÆtherRealm The Sun, The Moon, The Stars. If you liked Wintersun, this one should work as well. Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cheers! :)
#Circusmaximus song: Mouth of madness
Been a fan since the first album Was lucky enough to see them both nights at the Marquee. One of their best albums. Take The Time is my fav track from I&W and they prog metal not prog trash. But still good reaction
New York......New York
A NIGHTMARE TO REMEMBER PLZZZZZZZZŹZZ
My favorite song on this album. It wasn't always but through years on repeated listens it is now. Take the Time is probably the best DT song ever if I am being objective and I love that song but Another Day is my favorite.
Next up....Take The Time.
awesome.. would love to hear "Voices" by DT...
Jay beckenstein from spyro gyra on the sax
#DreamTheater Never Enough
Please do Metropolis pt.1 "the miracle and the sleeper", ive seen met. pt 2 but not pt1. Its a wicked awesome tune (as they always are), but the beat, drive, unique sound from this song is one of my favorites.
I love how varied DT can be from heavy, angry, instrumental, story, feeling, soft and melodic, they have all types of style. Also a collection of the best of the best on each instrument bringing stupid complex timing and coordination of such detailed intricate pieces from each player in each song is amazing talent. No band holds a candle to DT for straight talent writing and performing.
Being a piano/keyboard player since 11 for 26 years now, VERY few players can keep up as I naturally fit the keys and picked it up instantly by ear; never the 1st lesson...along with 26 years experience the most impressive Skynyrd piano solo (The breeze was one i liked playing, long nice solo) or improvisation on the spot took no effort as muscle memory just let it happen. Plus transition to bass, and 14+ years on drums and electric guitar (80s hairbands my fav. music) always in a local band I was pretty good; but keys was a whole other level. With that said as maybe 1 of 2-3 hundred-ish key players equaled me....hearing and watching Jordan Rudess molest the keys the way he does literally turned my stomach; hes legend!!! I can play much of his stuff, but his jazz fills and ridiculous speed and unhuman talent made me stop playing for years lol. Anyway, just a personal appreceiation for these guys talent. I like to see people introduced to REAL music; they dont make that anymore
Petrucci, mi ídolo!
Dream Theater changed the taste of my music and my life.....
I will always miss Mike Portnoy and his masterpieces......
Kelnrich, I think DT gonna change your musical tastes too.
You should try “Wither” from the album Black Clouds and Silver Linings.
Wake up to a review of Another Day and discussion of Viktor Frankl - I think that's a great way to start the day!
