my Janby manual says to inspect the thermal regulator every year...seems like a difficult task and expensive. Why not replace all the regulator/sensors while you have everything apart?
You have a good question. I would answer by saying that the sensors rarely fail over the life of the heater, except for conditions where the water is very corrosive. As for the thermal regulator, it can easily be changed by removing the cap between the pipes. The manifold in the video was cracked and thus required a complete disassembly. Normally it is not necessary to remove it like I did. Hope that helps, thanks for watching

What's the torque on the nuts supposed to be per the manufacturer?
@@paulschaller7490 I didn’t find any specs. Good and tight, but keep in mind it’s plastic. So don’t overdo it
@Pool-guy There are factory specs that they are supposed to be tightened to. It's something like 29 or 30 ft inches. Yes, inches, not pounds.
