Are we harming our small dogs and cats by NOT adjusting vaccine dose volume based on their weight. A 2005 study showed that smaller dogs have MORE adverse vaccine side effects, in spite of current veterinary recommendations to NOT alter vaccine volumes.

I'm a retired Vet Tech/Kennel manager, mobile pet groomer & pet sitter. When my clients mention they're taking their pets in for their yearly "boosters" I plead with them to NOT to do it!! When I was a baby back in the early 70's, we got a "booster" shot. We did NOT have to keep going back, every year to get an "annual" shot, to keep up our immunity. Your dog gets their puppy shots, but after that, the only shot that should be kept up with is their RABIES. And your pet only needs a shot of Bordatella for kennel cough, IF they're going to be put in a kennel, as the vaccine only protects for two weeks. Please🙏 stop spending needless money on useless shots. It's just a money grab. There are WAY more holistic options to keep you pet healthy 🐾 Just listen to this man, he knows his stuff😇❤️

30yrs ago I worked for an elderly Vet. He said exactly what your video just said. But no one pays any attention to the facts. He said it was all about money. ( if your animal gets sick .... then more money for the treatment)

I get annual titer tests done. My dog has never required any additional shots. She is 8 years old. 🐕

VERY HELPFUL!! I wish more people took this into consideration. So many animals are dying of cancer and other diseases when they're 100% indoor. All these indoor animals are getting vaxxed every single year with their lives being shortened. My kitties are vax free and will remain that way their entire life. They're indoor only, I just don't see the point🤷

I adopted a dog who had developed Addison's disease after his annual vax's.

I’ve been saying this for years to my veterinarian, so I refuse to vaccinate. Instead, I do titer count testing every 3 years.

Common sense is not so common anymore in todays society. But once again thank you Dr. Jones for helping us take care of our fur babies. I'm sooo grateful for you. Thanks!!

my standard poodle, had her puppy shot, and then no more. I fed her raw meat, veg, fruits, she lived till she was for 17 years old, hardly ever at a vet.

Absolutely, and you can’t tell me they haven’t realized this for at least 10 years if not 20. It saddens and angers me that we are only now doing a study. Better than nothing but will it go anywhere????

They gave my little 10 lb poodle two different vaccine rounds same day. Four months later he was BOTH a type 1 diabetic AND had lost his thyroid function completely. His body had an immune reaction and attacked his own pancreas and thyroid causing them both to completely shut down. He died a year and a half later. And he was only 11 and in good health previously. I was going to titre before that vaccine round but it was prohibitively expensive and didn't cover all of his vaccines components. He did not have any kind of initial reaction that was obvious. He just started peeing a lot more often a few months later, and they found out he was diabetic. Result: I had to give him two insulin shots a day and monitor him very closely as he was a type 1 diabetic, and he also needed daily thyroid medication. I'll never forgive them for what they did to him. And when they were giving him the shots I said wait is this safe? And they said oh yeah it's perfectly safe. What a lie.

I almost lost my 14 year old miniature schnauzer to an anaphylactic reaction to a rabies vaccine. If the reaction hadn't happened in the parking lot of my vet clinic, I would have lost her. My previous vet would not give older dogs vaccines and instead ran a titer. Unfortunately, she retired and the new vet said very few dog groomers would accept titers and she would need a rabies vaccine to be groomed. I believe that not only is size of the dog involved in increase of side effects, but age as well. After her anaphylactic reaction, I believe the inflammation went to her brain because her canine cognitive disorder increased exponentially.

I have several cats, and one dog. Titers are not within my financial reach.

Our Yorkipoo died of nasal cancer after years of Bordetella nasal immunizations. The groomer required them. Never. Again.😡

Okay but how do we find a vet who is willing to do a smaller dose??

  • @janforaker3127
    @janforaker3127 2 роки тому +8

I've had small dogs and bigs dogs and I decided years ago that the dogs regardless of size got the same dose so I've not revaccinated. After having several all dogs for of cancer my eyes are open.

Thank you! I lost two horses and almost lost my chihuahua to vaccine reactions! Maybe if we start talking more about vaccine reactions in children...the vaccine companies want to increase their profits by increasing the number of vaccines children and animals get!

I showed dogs 25 years up to the 2000 and I work at vets office i saw first hand dogs Dying from vaccine reactions especially senior dogs. I have a 12 year old mini poodle that only had Siri's a puppy vaccines and 1 Rabies vaccine. And other than losing a little eyesight and a little hearing she is healthy as a horse and acts like a two-year-old. So I know exactly what you mean I've been fighting the vaccine war for 12 years with this poodle.

I have 6 teenage cats. One 14 yo lab/rotty mix. I get their initial shots, then NOTHING for the rest of their lives. NO insecticides for parasites. Diatomaceous earth (food grade) only. If I don't get 20 years out of I cat I feel like I've failed.

I wish more vets recognized how pet care should be used effectively to help the INDIVIDUAL pet. Not the whole animal population!
