I wasn’t thinking when throwing in Sledgehammers name with the issues plaguing MWIII. Honestly…. Like I said in a separate comment, the multiplayer and Zombies justify the purchase for me. There were a lot of positive changes implemented that made it worth it for me. Even if you’re right about the campaign. BTW yes, I realize that my purchase makes them think we’re okay with what they did to the campaign. And yes, I do hate myself for it.
@Archer63270 now they did that for the cinematics but I think the draw to it is your interpretation, you escape death easily, your clean and precise in what you do, or whatever anyone can come up with, at least when we first met Soap and the gang
I love MacMillan immediately asking Price what he needs to help him find Makarov. He knows that Price is on everyone's watchlist and risks his own career just talking to him, but hurt his boy and he will give him whatever he needs for payback
In the lore by this point Macmillan is Major General and the DSF (Director of Special Forces) he is basically in charge of all special forces within the UK and answer to the prime minister
Soap and the chest knife. Never before or since have i felt so immersed and connected to the game. Seeing Price lose the fight and wanting to help him. I thought "If only i had a weapon". As the camera slowly panned to the knife in my chest, it clicked. Full immersion in perfect syncronisity with soap. "I do have one". Pulling out that knife and using it to win the day, to save Price and avenge my team... No moment in a game has ever felt that good.

@@DarkLord46626personally in terms of story I’ve gotta go for MW2(2009) or Modern Warfare 19. MW2 feels like a cheesy 80s action movie in video game form and MW19 feels like a gritty modern war movie like American Sniper or Black Hawk Down. Really just depends on what mood I’m in
Basically Soap got his nickname from being so good at clearing rooms. Because he's so quick at "cleaning out" buildings he got nicknamed that, and I also believe he did canonically get the best time on the MW1 test.
As someone who grew up playing these games, I gotta say that they all have a special place in my heart. One of my favorite moments of MW3 especially is when Price calls Makarov after it's announced that the war was over. When Makarov picks up, he asks who's calling and Price says "Prisoner 627". That whole interaction leading to the card were they finally show "Taskforce 141" without the "Disavowed" was phenomenal. 👌
And the bit where for the first, last and only time in the entire series, the most serious and personal mission of them all, you see that name just appear in the coolest way ever under all of it "Price"
When I was 12, my parents were rlly strict on not playing R rated games, but I had an older brother who played COD, one night, I snuck outa my bed at 11 at night, found the copy of MW2 we had, and proceeded to play through the entire campaign in one night, finishing at like 4 in the morning, having just experianced my first, and the best COD game of all time at 12 with zero spoilers
Off the point on how everyones codenames reflects them some how. Ghost can’t die Roach is hard to kill Soap is slippery I like to thing after the end of MW3 and it’s just Price alone. He paid the highest “price” loosing everyone he cares about.
The hammer down protocol is a real protocol, if an area is deemed unobtainable, and the enemy force is overwhelming, to deny them the land, the location is quite literally flattened with MOABs, firebombs, etc, anything non nuclear
Broken Arrow iirc is used to refer to nuclear accidents that don't lead to nuclear war. For example, the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters. From google: "Broken Arrow is a code phrase that refers to an accidental event that involves nuclear weapons, warheads or components that does not create a risk of nuclear war. These include: Accidental or unexplained nuclear explosion. Non-nuclear detonation or burning of a nuclear weapon."@@hazmatt3250
When you look at Washington from the top of the WH... And all around green flares start appearing on top of buildings... The city is *not* lost... That just gives me chills, those are brothers ready to fight back...
Something cool to point out during the “Soap Trusted you!” Scene. Price pulls out a Desert Eagle, a gun used multiple times throughout the Modern Warfare Trilogy to off important people or start sending sh!t fanwards. The Middle Eastern President at the top of MW1, Zakyev doing the same to Gaz and Riggs at the end of it. Many lesser people meet their end from its .50 AE fury in MW2 And of course, Makarov using it at the end of MW3. It is used time and time again by the bad guys to do bad things. And in that moment, Price is borderline Makarov. He just lost his best friend after what he thought was a slam dunk mission goes tits up. The other person he thought he could trust is now suspect number one as to why Soap is gone. Price loved his 1911, a visual representation of the “old guard” type of military man he is. Part of that idealism died with Soap, and he left the 1911 behind not just as a grave stone for his friend, but a symbol that Price as we knew him died on that table as well. Also, for as fat and destructive as .45 ACP is, .50 AE is bigger and hits harder. And that’s what Yuri finds himself starring down the barrel of. Not just a bigger gun than the 1911, but the much more angry and unhinged John Price.
The fact that MW3 still has not been remastered hurts me, it's my first and favorite COD game with ease, It's definitely nostalgia bias because if it wasn't my first I know my favorites would be a struggle between BO2 and Cod 4, but, I don't really care, I don't care if it's mediocre and it was just a heavily updated version of MW2, it's still an amazing game that left an impact me, I didn't know a lot about cod besides the Zombies and the shooting, but when I played I cared so much about the characters as if I played the first 2 games, Soap's death always hit me, a hero that didn't manage to get out in the end, gone, but not forgotten. MW3 cemented itself as one of the most important things of my life, especially since it reminds me of my Dad, and as much as I learned he wasn't really a great dad nowadays, especially since he's not with me anymore, admittedly leaving me and my family to go back to his own family, forgetting us, probably starting a new family he loves probably more than me, I can't deny he gave me one of the best experiences of my life, my first game, one of if not my favorite games of all time, a Cod game that is always regarded to be mediocre, but I hold too dear to my heart to say it is. You can probably laugh at how sad it is that a son's only treasured love from his father was a game, my life isn't really too eventful in terms of excitement, most of the time it was kind of rough especially with my anger issues and ADHD growing up, gaming being one of the few things making me feel happy, and with how my life is now, I'm happy gaming has affected it, it helped me learn, get smarter with strategies, especially with a kid like me who was too angry half the time to learn at school, I didn't grow up to be some brute who didn't have a father figure, I became a person with quite a bit of flaws but didn't let the loss of 1 parental figure hinder my development. Sorry for rambling, I tend to do that, but it just helps show how much the game made my life better and not put me down a rabbit hole that will probably make me a bad person in the future.
We gonna wait, sledghammer or raven was working on mw 3 (2023) and they wated check if there arw glitches or add something l, but Activision or Infinity war said : no no you work, we tell. My thinking it will come out in 2024
My favorite moment in each game: MW1: All Ghillied up, best part is the atmosphere, you really felt like a trained sniper. And Mac’s voice is badass, let’s be honest. MW2: The EMP over the battle of DC. Honestly, the whole battle was amazingly well done. If you listen closely on the comms, you really feel the direness of the situation, they said there were civilians arming themselves against the Russians. Best missions ever. MW3: Battle of Paris. I might be alone with this one, but it is my favorite mission. You start by making your way through the destroyed buildings surrounded by the gas and the dead civilians caught in the zone. It was very haunting and depressing. You really felt the weight of the damage Makarov caused.
Thank you for sticking to your principles and not making a video on "MWIII." This trilogy was incredible, and to have its name sullied like Activision has done is a disgrace to what is one of my favorite stories in any game series.
I think the best part of MW3, was that the “Mind the Gap” mission, you play with Sgt’s Wallcroft and Griffin, showing that after the events of CoD4, they were told by Price to “stay in the chopper and cover our six!”, they chose to stay on with SAS instead of joining TF141 (if they were given the offer of course..)
I remember after this mission at 34:51 I actually had dreams where I would be playing as Roach alongside Price and Soap against a hoard of Russian Soldiers just never ending, with dogs that would not die after getting shot. The dreams were so visceral that I remember constantly waking up covered in sweat and needing to wash my clothes and sheets (I was like 8 when I played this upon release). It was either this mission or the one from the original Modern Warfare that gave me that feeling. I just remember seeing Price and Soap getting torn to shreds, their names disappearing after they died and I would look at the bodies of their character models, getting even more scared that the usual blurred screen with “Soap” or “Price has been Killed In Action” not showing up to make me restart from the previous checkpoint
IW did a very strategic move with II's marketing , they wanted us to think it was just like 2019 but way better. Then the game was spat out , and it sucked , and then III came out and was even worse. Honestly can not wait for IV , which will probably be as bad as III or even worse.
that's because the "old guard" either died out or were replaced with new, braindead nine year old's who are willing to buy... whatever the fuck activision has on its premium market. so yeah.... 2 things that never changes, war and corporate greed apparently...
Modern warfare 3 if i recall was panned for being too much like MW2. Which I personally didnt mind. Black Ops 2 was the last great COD game. Just my own opinion.
TBH COD reboot could have been something huge. 2019 COD set the groundwork for so much more, yet they disappointed us. I was even fine with 2022 MW2 it was okay, but they just stooped to a new low with 2023 MW3
In MW2 we are all thinking that price is dead because of the ending of CoD4 with the soldier trying chest compressions but getting desperate. We didnt ask where he was because we thought we were the only one to survive on the bridge.
12:12 you can actually able to stand and walk after you crawl out from helicopter. 32:48 fun detail. Before THIS moment his id was like "cpt McTavish". After that - "Soap"
I love in Mw3 when soap dies, after the pistol. Price shoots yuri a thousand yard stare and only breaks when the windows blow in. Price is a badass through and through.
33:55 incorrect. The original game had this too. You crash down into the ground and when you come to you stare at your beaten up and burnt hands, then, the Nuke/EMP bomb goes off.
The nuke mission in COD 4 just felt so surreal. I just remember sitting there in shock as I took in the full view of the mushroom cloud, and because we could crawl around, the kid that I was tried to go back into the helo and escape before the private could die.
The reason price gives you the pistol in cod4 was because he was implied to have died shortly after passing it to you, if you look back at him after killing zakheav his name is gone and he lies motionless, obviously they probably changed it after the remaster cuz suprise price wasnt dead
To answer your question at 3:07, Soap got his name from how good he is at "cleaning house". According to his bio in newer games, “he can clear rooms with “remarkable speed and accuracy”
You actually missed one. The music that plays in MW3 after we kill Makarov is a callback to the original Modern Warfare. A nice little callback to tell you that yeah, it really is over.
I think the difference with the MW3 Train Crash and WW2 is that in MW3 you aren't in the middle of the chaos. Instead you're initially behind the crashing train not around you.
1. MW II is the way to mention Reboot version, not OG or Remastered one 2. MW3 actually beaten a record of having 12 wins before pressing a single button
3:14 I read somewhere that Soap got his name because he cleaned up bad guys real well. Take that with a grain of salt because I cannot remember where I read that.
So Soap earned his name in OG Trilogy by “cleaning house” (clearing a house) with remarkable precision and speed. In the new trilogy he earned it because when price recruited him for TF141 he was a demo expert from SAS and earned his name by famously using soap bars as part of his detonation devices.
great recap! the one thing ill say you missed as a W is the loading screen dialogue between makarov and Price before the juggernaut mission. "my war ends with you" "Like it ended for captain MacTavish?" tell me Price, how long did it take him to die? ive destroyed your world piece by piece, its only a matter of time before i find you" "you wont have to look far" i remember that giving me absolute chills as a kid.
I was actually excited to play mw3 but my friend got the campaign early and legit woke me at 3am to show how bad it was. This man is def my best friend
They did Soap dirty in the revamp. Not a way to go out even after the bromance between he and Ghost. In this OG MW2, I was playing "Loose Ends" and my gal at the time was just watching because MW2 is a legit movie. I would do a mission a day and she would watch sometimes even doing 2 so as to not leave her hanging. At the end, when Shepperd pulled the trigger, she jumped. and when he turned the gun on Ghost, I started in with "No, NO, NOOOOO!" and she ran out of the room crying her eyes out. It took us a while to come back and finish the game only to see Shepperd get his. The GOAT 🤘
black ops 1 was my first entry in the series, I beat the campaign in one sitting in secret with my dad arriving home shortly after the credits rolled in the dark hours of the morning. It will always be my favorite cod, but mw3 takes a close second being my second cod game and the one I played a lot with my now deceased cousin. I didn't fully understand the story at the time but it was still an amazing adventure I will always remember fondly, only being surpassed by mw2's and bo1's campaign
I agree with skipping mw3(23) but I feel like the heat in the intro should have been fully on ActiBlizzard and not towards Sledgehammer. Sledgehammer was fully ready to make a expansion side story focused on Los Alamas but Activision were the ones to not only make mw3 a full 70 dollar game but also force the story team to follow up the no Russian and Makarov plot threads. Activision treatment of sledgehammer has been beyond shitty and I really don’t think these devs need more heat for a project they didn’t want to make but were also crunched to hell and back for
these games were my first introduction to video games as a whole and also my favorite pastime with my dad as me and him played them through some of the hardest times in our lives and now that he's gone it breaks my heart to play them all alone but so happy at the same time. these games will always have a special play in my heart. love you dad cant wait to play with you again
Just to gush about the mission where Harkov gets blasted by Makarov: I'm not good at FPS games. I die a lot. So imagine little Eve running to the end like a drowning man grasps at an oar being held out by a would-be rescuer, only for the person on the other end to then use that oar to drown the man instead of saving them. That's what it felt like to me. And I will always love this mission for that.
Bro left out one of the most impactful parts of the nuke scene As that chopper turned and fell you legit had different thoughts running through your head as every rotation was completed and got you closer and closer to the ground, the alarms are non stop in the back, the engine struggling to keep up while the whining grows in pitch and volume just before Silent darkness, just to wake up in the closest thing to hell humanity is capable of bringing to earth Having just saved a downed pilot it's like your savior's, angel's, protector's etc wings evaporated and was left to fall down to hell Edit: Dear lord you also didn't seem to include the cutscene right after that shows the explosion via satellite images and the estimated deaths are displayed as well as every single dead soldier caught up in the blast including their full names while in the background you can hear several news broadcasts trying to make sense of what just happened in the world in both confusion terror and disbelief
All the choppers falling around you and the guy screaming EMP!!! HOLLLYY SHIIITTT!!! Fighting to get the green flares on the roof and guy popping two and sprinting to the top so many great moment makes me wonder why that imagination is gone these days
2 things i love about MW2 1. Is the background radio chatter of other units in DC they tell diffrent stories for example - bradley unit wanting to engage a specific russia para unit for killing civvies - american units setting up ambush to snatch russian para troopers 2. This EAS 33:14 when it says "be aware of your surroundings remain alert" basically saying "whoever is out there that isnt us is out to kill you and us so get out of here but watch out" and knowing your a civvie still in the city with thousands of russians out to kill you is pretty terrifiying
I was too young for prime mw2 but that campaign will forever hold a special place in my heart. Replaying and fully understanding the events that are unfolding was incredible. In recent time ive found i enjoy the marine missions far more than the special ops purely because of how close it hits. Watching D.C. fall was one of the most impactful and emotional moments in videos games for em
As someone who lives in the DC area, I can't stress how good a job MW2 did with its iteration of Northern Virginia and DC. I remember playing this game and the pre-brief with the emergency broadcast system actually freaked out my college roommate because he had only been half paying attention and suddenly thought there was an actual emergency broadcast about evacuating DC.
Another win to add to this list. The very first mission starts with Capt. Price smoking a cigar. And the very last mission ends with Capt. Price smoking a cigar.
You real asf for standing on biddness and not allowing Activision to get away with MW3 like that. Lifelong sub from here until the heat death of the universe just for that
20:00 tbf the "No russian mission" trigger warning before starting the campaign was added only after a game tester who served in the military stricly refused to play the mission as it was intended, neither shooting or just watching without firing, and that lead the developers to add the skip mission feature
I thank GW for showing not myself but many other people who enjoyed every moment of play the MW trilogy. Damn man I remembered playing the trilogy on the PS3 two summers ago. Till this day it's still the best of what I've known so far.
My favourite thing about MW3 is the ending. Specifically, how open-ended it is. We know Price has sustained injuries, and some might take the camera fade-out as a sign he died. Or, he might have just left, walked out of the building, and left with Nikolai. And Nikolai, too: Price's one remaining comrade, and friend. I can see them both retiring and just... living the rest of their lives. Everything Price had built, everything he had done, all gone: either it was taken by Makarov or it was covered up. More to the point, he had lost everything and was completely ignored for it. If he retired, he couldn't enjoy his life, it just wasn't possible. His 'victory' wasn't a victory; just a loose end tied off. And that's the beauty of Price, everything has gone to shit and he just keeps going.
Modern Warfare 3 and the whole series alone was so influential to my childhood and early adulthood. The amount of no f***s given fun we used to have, is the best part of my gaming childhood. Modern Warefare3 was so influential to the point I wrote a 10 page paper my freshman year of college on the games causes and effects that showed the real world implications of the economic standard being the main cause of most major conflicts. I got a 94% on that paper, I was very proud of myself and the stories developers used to make made it possible. Now these game are glorified Fast and Furious Movies for war.
fun fact about the tutorial for both MW1 and 2: That's an actual thing used to prepare for an op or train for various scenarios. They're called Kill Houses. "It is used to train soldiers and police for various urban combat scenarios while permitting them to use their full power service weapons. The scenarios trained for include room and apartment clearing, door breaching and the inclusion of hostage or noncombatant targets along with enemy targets ("shoot/no shoot")."
0:21 Hey so there was an article released (keep in mind my source of info is from a COD youtuber M3rkMus1c) that MWIII 2023 is all Activision’s fault JUST like COD vanguard Sledgehammer had to rush this game with only 16 months to develop the game with constant restraints and restrictions… working overtime and crunch just to get the game in an OK state… all of which is Activision’s doing. Sledgehammer games were supposed to work on a sort of sequel to COD Advanced Warfare (code named Project Anvil)… and to top off EVERYTHING Sledgehammer is listening to community feed back and are actively working on improving the game for all of us… Lets cut the Devs that put their blood, sweat, and tears to put together this game.. blame those in higher power.. #ScrewActivision
With the MW cycle established at 2-3 years, I knew something was up when they did MW in back-to-back years. This is an excellent example of why writers/game developers need time to make stuff, cause if they're rushed by publishers then stuff like MWIII happens. It could have been so much more had it followed in the vein of MW2019 but was rushed and ruined
33:15 always gives me chills when I’m playing because it feels so real seeing it on your TV. The astronaut being blown away from the satellite does it for me too
I don't why Soap got his name. But I think it means: "Soap; He always come out clean." Cause soap cleans things and all that. And Soap always comes out of a bad situation just fine. Until well, you know...
When I was replaying MW2 my friend who was in the us army noted how there was only few jets coming to the Washington and how desperate everyone was with the flares, as he said 'Makes you think what they carried'
At 46:00, the game asks for any SMU teams. Rangers and marines are not SMU, that’s Delta and DEVGRU. Also, it’s not TF141 in the car crash, it’s Delta Force.
One more win: Makarov could have been given the appearance of a inhuman monster. A expy of Stalin. Instead after Shepherd extols his crimes and shows his photo you see he's just a man. Not even a super soldier. Just a man who was able to cause such mayhem. Scary.
Actually Ramirez does look at his hands after the helo crash in Second Sun. One detail that is added in the remaster is he'll actually catch the magazine that Foley throws him instead of it being a normal reload.(although he keeps the ammo left in his current mag if you have any which contrasts with the original)
holy fuck a actual good take, good on you for not indulging on mw3, LITERALLY EVERYONE SAID IT WAS TRASH (and it was) and then everyone proceeded to still buy it? like im so confused with the content creators i love to watch calling that shit a cash grab and trash and then they still bought it to play it, im really glad that your not one of those.
Man i miss these amazing cod days. WaW was the perfect WW2 game. No war game has a atmoshphere like thst 1. It was legit eerie even the main menu. Love going back to play them all.
One thing that always got me in MW 3 is the American family is on vacation in the chemical attack scene... The US has been invaded, DC and NYC are in ruins... Not sure how many airlines are flying over to England to bring people on vacation during WW3 lol
You are one of the most positive creators I've seen on UA-cam, I've seen you give wins to games that may or may not deserve them... Which just goes to show, the fact that you straight up refuse to cover MWII.V (Roman numerals are fun), is a tribute to how badly they fucked up.
One of my favorite little details is that the Price Makarov convo in “Enemy of My Enemy” clearly sets up Price to be the next one to die. “Looking forward to it.” But by the end of the trilogy Price is one of the only ones left standing. Or I suppose sitting and smoking.
27:45 Yeah, we French basically entered World War in vast openfields with blue shirts and red pants. Very nice from us to make ourselves really easy to spot from afar, and easier targets to aim at. Superb video as always, keep this channel going it's a sweet bakery (if that make any sense)
The Modern Warfare is the first series outside of Halo i played through start to finish. MW2 was my first multiplayer experience back in Middle School. This trilogy is just so great. I want to play it through again now just to experience it. The WW3 pre, during, and post through the trilogy is what i see a real-life event happening like. Its scary how close it could be, but seeing the action hero of Price and all of the amazing heroes in the fallen of the trilogy really harkens that real war, there are only survivors at the end.
@gamingwins 34:02 your character does actually look at how bad his hands are messed up in the og mw2 as well it just looked terrible due to the meshes and texture of the gloves and the charge tees hands combining. It’s crazy how good the mw2 remastered looks even compared to the brand new cods
Jumped ship after mw 2009 but holy hell were the original cod2, cod4, and mw2 literally legendary games and unforgettable gaming times. never was there a cod like those ever again, truly made with talent and care.
I wasn’t thinking when throwing in Sledgehammers name with the issues plaguing MWIII. It’s all completely Activision and we need to be aware of the greed and that exploitation that this publisher is doing to their developers.

BTW yes, I realize that my purchase makes them think we’re okay with what they did to the campaign. And yes, I do hate myself for it.
Thank you for the material backing sledgehammer, hard to see the guys behind the original mw3 be brought down to such a level by Activision

Soap earned his name due to cleaning house with remarkable speed and accuracy in room clearance techniques and urban warfare tactics.
I always assumed in the second game it more transitioned into him being slippery and escaping death multiple times
Makarov and Shepherd paid the ultimate price.
I never likes that they added in the reason behind his name in the new MW2 I always kinda liked not knowing why he was called soap
@Archer63270 now they did that for the cinematics but I think the draw to it is your interpretation, you escape death easily, your clean and precise in what you do, or whatever anyone can come up with, at least when we first met Soap and the gang

That scene had me feeling a type of way. An enraged, invigorated, hyped way 🔥
i heard a theory that the reason Soap was bleeding so much in his death scene in MW3 is because the MW2 knife wound re-opened when he fell
@thegrimer I think that got confirned, yeah
Couldn't have said it better myself
@thegrimer not a theory, his wound opened up when he fell out of the building
As a firm believer, the original story was the best by far growing up playing it. Man's spit straight facts in the first minute

One of my favorite moments of MW3 especially is when Price calls Makarov after it's announced that the war was over. When Makarov picks up, he asks who's calling and Price says "Prisoner 627". "Haven't you heard, Price? They say the war's over."
"My war ends with you."
Ghost can’t die
Roach is hard to kill
Soap is slippery
I like to thing after the end of MW3 and it’s just Price alone. He paid the highest “price” loosing everyone he cares about.
Price dies as well, off the screen
The hammer down protocol is a real protocol, if an area is deemed unobtainable, and the enemy force is overwhelming, to deny them the land, the location is quite literally flattened with MOABs, firebombs, etc, anything non nuclear
“BROKEN ARROW!”

Many lesser people meet their end from its .50 AE fury in MW2
And of course, Makarov using it at the end of MW3.
It wouldn't surprise me if in 5-10 years we get another reboot except its just DMZ with an opening and closing cutscene.
3:10 John "soap" MacTavish's codename soap is that he "cleans" houses so quickly he got the nickname for being fast
I still read it no need for apologies
Yea they did us dirty
We gonna wait, sledghammer or raven was working on mw 3 (2023) and they wated check if there arw glitches or add something l, but Activision or Infinity war said : no no you work, we tell.
My thinking it will come out in 2024
My favorite moment in each game:
MW1: All Ghillied up, best part is the atmosphere, you really felt like a trained sniper.
"Switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading." Some of the very first Videogame advice I've never forgotten
"Using your knife is faster than switching to your pistol."
What I want most now is a mw3 remaster,i can only imagine those incredible scenes from the 2011 game in 4k
Fun fact Mile High Club is actually TF141’s first assignment.
Modern Warfare 2019 was so good and a good breathe of fresh air for the series. It’s sad to see they didn’t follow through with it
IW did a very strategic move with II's marketing , they wanted us to think it was just like 2019 but way better. Then the game was spat out , and it sucked , and then III came out and was even worse. Honestly can not wait for IV , which will probably be as bad as III or even worse.
I’m 15 and when everyone was playing there Ps4 and XBox One I was playing MW, MW2, MW3, WAW, BO1 and BO2 on my 360.
Ah the good old days, from when COD was actually well liked all around! How the mighty have fallen since!
its because all the talent left in 2009 to go make respawn, thats why there was never a good cod again after that.
I dunno man even then people hated the current Cod and said the old one was better. The cod cycle never changed
that's because the "old guard" either died out or were replaced with new, braindead nine year old's who are willing to buy... whatever the fuck activision has on its premium market.
35:17 when Captain Price says good it just feels so cold
Right off the rip this man deserves a win himself. Do me a solid and insert the Win Counter Ding if you read this
5:00 i am today years old when I realized that the "P" in "SOPMOD" stood for "Peculiar". I just thought that it was shorthand for "OPerations".
I’m so happy you uploaded this I was trying to watch all the videos you made on the og trilogy but now I don’t have too thanks
The nuke mission in COD 4 just felt so surreal. I just remember sitting there in shock as I took in the full view of the mushroom cloud, and because we could crawl around, the kid that I was tried to go back into the helo and escape before the private could die.
The fact that this video is roughly 1/2 the length of mw2023s campaign is really a testament to how far we’ve fallen….
According to his bio in newer games, “he can clear rooms with “remarkable speed and accuracy”
nah new games are garbage dumpster fires apparently so that's not a viable answer
You actually missed one. The music that plays in MW3 after we kill Makarov is a callback to the original Modern Warfare. A nice little callback to tell you that yeah, it really is over.
Any time I hear Keith David I always think Sgt. Foley is giving me new orders 😂
I think the difference with the MW3 Train Crash and WW2 is that in MW3 you aren't in the middle of the chaos. Instead you're initially behind the crashing train not around you.
31:35. Even that sigh from the soldier holds more weight than the whole mw3 2023 campaign
The vitriol and rage in the intro, bro is ready for violence
I think it's truly amazing and says so much that mwII already had 11 wins before pressing a single button and 17 by the end of the first cutscene.
1. MW II is the way to mention Reboot version, not OG or Remastered one
2. MW3 actually beaten a record of having 12 wins before pressing a single button
What’s scary about 33:15 is when you live in Princes Georges County, Maryland and you see this for the first time. My house had a panic attack
"my war ends with you"
"Like it ended for captain MacTavish?" tell me Price, how long did it take him to die? ive destroyed your world piece by piece, its only a matter of time before i find you"
"you wont have to look far"
i remember that giving me absolute chills as a kid.
There's literally a display from the last mission in Museum lol. Shepherd is reciting the 5 years ago speech and Price is in the RHIB
I was actually excited to play mw3 but my friend got the campaign early and legit woke me at 3am to show how bad it was. This man is def my best friend
Same here lmfao
Don't call it mw3, call it MW2023. Modern Warfare 3 (2011) is the true MW3.
@@vincentveryvile5051 how about...
MW20233
The GOAT 🤘
16:23 I like how you can hear him laugh over the comms lmao
black ops 1 was my first entry in the series, I beat the campaign in one sitting in secret with my dad arriving home shortly after the credits rolled in the dark hours of the morning. It will always be my favorite cod, but mw3 takes a close second being my second cod game and the one I played a lot with my now deceased cousin. I didn't fully understand the story at the time but it was still an amazing adventure I will always remember fondly, only being surpassed by mw2's and bo1's campaign
I literally just finished binging the og modern warfare trilogy less than 20 minutes ago and this was the first video to show up when I open UA-cam
Just to gush about the mission where Harkov gets blasted by Makarov:
I'm not good at FPS games. I die a lot. So imagine little Eve running to the end like a drowning man grasps at an oar being held out by a would-be rescuer, only for the person on the other end to then use that oar to drown the man instead of saving them.
That's what it felt like to me. And I will always love this mission for that.
Bro left out one of the most impactful parts of the nuke scene
As that chopper turned and fell you legit had different thoughts running through your head as every rotation was completed and got you closer and closer to the ground, the alarms are non stop in the back, the engine struggling to keep up while the whining grows in pitch and volume just before
Silent darkness, just to wake up in the closest thing to hell humanity is capable of bringing to earth
Having just saved a downed pilot it's like your savior's, angel's, protector's etc wings evaporated and was left to fall down to hell
Edit: Dear lord you also didn't seem to include the cutscene right after that shows the explosion via satellite images and the estimated deaths are displayed as well as every single dead soldier caught up in the blast including their full names while in the background you can hear several news broadcasts trying to make sense of what just happened in the world in both confusion terror and disbelief
All the choppers falling around you and the guy screaming EMP!!! HOLLLYY SHIIITTT!!!
Fighting to get the green flares on the roof and guy popping two and sprinting to the top so many great moment makes me wonder why that imagination is gone these days
33:55 not true ramirez looked at his hands in the original as well. I love that they animated the sentries though
2 things i love about MW2
1. Is the background radio chatter of other units in DC they tell diffrent stories for example
- bradley unit wanting to engage a specific russia para unit for killing civvies
- american units setting up ambush to snatch russian para troopers
Fun fact = Modern Price is an ancestor of the early CoD ww2 Price.
Lifelong sub from here until the heat death of the universe just for that
Correction in 33:57, In the Mission Second Sun, Ramirez looks at his hands in the original as well. Remastered didn't add the animation
I used the heartbeat sensor excessively in MW2 S&D. I have absolutely zero shame, mostly because I had no idea it was so controversial at the time lol
What’s crazy is the nuke wouldn’t destroy the ISS like we see. There’s no molecules to transfer the blast waves/sound waves.
fun fact about the tutorial for both MW1 and 2: That's an actual thing used to prepare for an op or train for various scenarios.
17:42 OMG, I never noticed that our man Dimitri was in COD4.
You could NOT have missed “what about the ones inside?” Foley: “what about em’?
33:15 always gives me chills when I’m playing because it feels so real seeing it on your TV. The astronaut being blown away from the satellite does it for me too
I don't why Soap got his name. But I think it means: "Soap; He always come out clean."
Cause soap cleans things and all that. And Soap always comes out of a bad situation just fine. Until well, you know...
When I was replaying MW2 my friend who was in the us army noted how there was only few jets coming to the Washington and how desperate everyone was with the flares, as he said 'Makes you think what they carried'
It really does
Holy shit, you are COOKING. Just the things I needed after the long day at work. Boutta make some tea and snacks cuz the evening gotta be cozy :)
fun fact, in the mission all ghillied up, in the lake part, u can do it stealthily, sometimes mcmillan will tell u instructions
At 46:00, the game asks for any SMU teams. Rangers and marines are not SMU, that’s Delta and DEVGRU. Also, it’s not TF141 in the car crash, it’s Delta Force.
Using the realism word while soaking up bullets haha
One more win: Makarov could have been given the appearance of a inhuman monster. A expy of Stalin. Instead after Shepherd extols his crimes and shows his photo you see he's just a man. Not even a super soldier. Just a man who was able to cause such mayhem. Scary.
Fun fact: Wallcroft from Mw3 mind the gap was brought back in the MWR in the prouloge, and in the new Mwiii in the flasback mission
Wallcroft is already in the game from the original. Not just the remaster
I miss the cod campaigns so much, I would always play them first before touching multiplayer. WAW is still one of my all time favorites
Just booted up my old Xbox 360 to replay mw2, man the memories
Man i miss these amazing cod days. WaW was the perfect WW2 game. No war game has a atmoshphere like thst 1. It was legit eerie even the main menu. Love going back to play them all.
One thing that always got me in MW 3 is the American family is on vacation in the chemical attack scene... The US has been invaded, DC and NYC are in ruins... Not sure how many airlines are flying over to England to bring people on vacation during WW3 lol
"Drink some water" *shows the gas pouring scene*
How dare you, sir
You are one of the most positive creators I've seen on UA-cam, I've seen you give wins to games that may or may not deserve them... Which just goes to show, the fact that you straight up refuse to cover MWII.V (Roman numerals are fun), is a tribute to how badly they fucked up.
One of my favorite little details is that the Price Makarov convo in “Enemy of My Enemy” clearly sets up Price to be the next one to die.
“Looking forward to it.”
But by the end of the trilogy Price is one of the only ones left standing. Or I suppose sitting and smoking.
27:45
Yeah, we French basically entered World War in vast openfields with blue shirts and red pants. Very nice from us to make ourselves really easy to spot from afar, and easier targets to aim at.
Superb video as always, keep this channel going it's a sweet bakery (if that make any sense)
I like how its only soaps 6 day and he already save 41 million lives
