Bud bring out more vids... Solid stuff... A few errors here & there but previous comments already iterated on them & you acknowledged, so bang on.... Thumbs up bud & waiting keenly on the next one
I’m glad someone has actually taken the time to report this retrospective. There were so many things going on at that time many of us didn’t actually grasp the totality of the situation. I appreciate the historical context you used to frame the topic.
So happy you put out a new long form video! So good! P.S. gas CONDENSES into liquid not freezes. Liquid freezes into a solid. Gas deposits into a solid. Solids sublimate into gasses.
I wish I had seen this during my internship this summer. I’m pretty apolitical and it took me a while to understand what happened in the market. Great video!!!
BTW, there is one event that could increase the supply of LNG (and oil) on the long run and contribute to the energy security of the western hemisphere, a democratic transition in Venezuela, and unlikely as it looks right now, it cannot be fully discarded.
dude, you have such an underrated channel. you’ll easily hit 1 million subs. the hawaiian southwest video is such a unique angle that no one has explored. love it 🤙🏽
Many of those new nat gas plants are just replacing coal plants. So capacity wont increase as much as it looks. I hope the power companies stay ahead of the demand curve
True, and really good point. It's not a capacity addition, it's largely a replacement of coal. That replacement is made possible (at this quick of a rate) because natural gas is so cheap. The rest of the world still burns a lot more coal than the US because their natgas is much more expensive than the US. In fact, multiple US coal executive have praised opening up more LNG export capacity because they believe it will increase the price of US natgas and therefore make coal competitive again.
@@Maxinomics Yes, obviously because the y-axis isn't starting at zero. I was actually really liking the video up until that point but it's such a dishonest and manipulative trick I didn't even want to finish the video, I went straight to the comments and am happy to see someone else mention it. You're making a 2 times increase appear like a 20 times increase.
@@neilmannion9322 I understand the y-axis can be manipulated. But in this case, it’s just a doubling. If the total number in year zero was 5,000 and then we skewed the y-axis to start at 5k to dramatize 5k to 5.5k-what would be just a 10% change-that would be a chart crime. But in this instance 0-450 just takes up space and makes it harder for the viewer to determine rate of change. Especially since the number change is spoken out loud. It was an intentional decision made on the logic above, and not intended to be misleading
@@Maxinomics Sorta, it's more the fact that the bar that is supposed to illustrate "doubled" is literally twenty times bigger than the original bar. The point of having a bar graph is to visually illustrate the data, but these bars doesn't in any way visually show the correct relation between the numbers. It doesn't necessarily have to start at 0, but the proportions of the graph needs to be adjusted to more realistically illustrate the data.

Stating that the sun needs to shine to produce solar energy must be some sort of banter. Is there any source of energy more reliable than the sun? It literally feeds the whole planet. 😂😂😂 Just turn off the sun for a moment and let's see if all the oil, gas, coal and nuclear can keep a single soul warm and nice. 😂😂😂
For international trade purposes the US is separated from the vast majority of the world by thousands of miles of ocean. To get goods to any country except Canada or Mexico, they have to be moved over water.
This is fossil fuel propaganda. The only reference to the downsides of natural gas use is to dismiss the US government's concerns as political manuevering. Theres a discussion of fracking, but no mention of how it is controversial at all. Plenty of time to talk about the limitations of solar and wind, but weirdly no time to mention hydro or nuclear. And of course not a single mention of the environmental impacts of natural gas. I could understand if that were outside of the scope of the discusion (even though failing to mention it is pretty irresponsible), but it seems more like the script was sculpted specifically to avoid that.
The intention of this video is not to weigh the pros and cons of one fuel source verse another but simply to highlight the mass of activity happening in the world of natural gas.
Human civilization has environmental impacts. Natural gas has one of the lowest impacts of any energy source that can be relied on and that the government will allow to be built. I promise you, with the amount of propaganda constantly blasted out to the public at every opportunity, there isn't a single human on earth that doesn't know Nat Gas contributes to CC.
@@MaxinomicsBut we have to do anything we can to stop the climate change so we should condone it. Oh well. LNG terminals are everywhere in my country by now.

Your videos could be big. Top notch. Keep them coming. Need higher frequency and regularity.
Thank you, will be on a more regular cadence now after a choppy start

Thank you, good to be back! You're right, wording could be better there. Appreciate the point out!
Man I really liked the video!
Keep up the good work

Genuinely very, very good content. I can definitely see this channel being big one day.
Thanks Michael, working towards it!
Solid presentation, subbed 👍
Nice content!
great video, like and subscribed

Good Stuff
the texan lng factory blowing up around the same time of nord stream is highly suspicious
Excellent channel.
Great video!
Thanks for watching 🙏
nice new channel
Thanks and welcome
Maybe we should think about switching to solid natural gas.
Native Louisianaian here. It’s pronounced “suh-bean” not “sah-bine”. Referring to the Sabine Pass LNG facility
Thank you for the correction
Flaring is still widespread.
It is, but at a significantly lower rate than would otherwise be the case without the value assigned from pipelines and gas turbines
Greetings from italy guys, we are working on calcasieu pass 2 LNG terminal, just to keep up US economy and sinking ours 😂
The graph around the 7 minute mark is absurdly misleading.
How so? The y-axis not starting at zero?

sah bye? its SAH bEne Sabine.
How much more expensive is European natural gas?
Right now it's about five times the price of US natural gas, and that's typically where it's traded over the past year.
this VIDEO is great, the thumbnail doesn’t look interesting however
