So, I am trying to let my hair grow. It is difficult, trust me, I have not been cutting much off. I do trim the sides and back to keep those close while letting the top grow out some. This trim requires NO CLIPPERS. You use your two fingers as the "guard". You can use this method for a trim or for your first hair cut.
I could not take those grey sides a second longer. YES I did dye them. I feel so much better. I will keep dying them.

LOVE your videos! I took a chance after combing out my locs and cut mine in a similar shape as yours, using your method. I was too chicken to go as short as you have your hair, plus I wanted to grow out my side shave (you can see it in my profile photo). The sides is growing out nicely. My top is much longer, and my curl pattern is different from yours, but I've got the basic shape. Thank you for the instructions, the relatability, and your honesty. A few years ago, I would NEVER have tried to cut my hair, but you made it seem so easy! I may go a little shorter with my sides as the grow-out continues because I'm loving the easy care. I have a TON of hair (always have) and it's pretty thick. I wore locs for about 3 years, but the front NEVER loced, and with arthritis in my hands, I'm not up for twisting and playing with hair like I used to be.

Thank you for the lesson and the detail. Maybe I can pull this off. My hair is not as fine as yours however there's still that curly texture. I also love and had/have a tapered cut also and now it's disrespectful as you said😊😂 Tomorrow I'll trim it down.

We have the same hair type and cut. Mines is thicker, though. I get the grey on the sides too. Lol! I dye it too. Ain’t nobody got time for that foolishness. Lol!
