Can you tell me where you ordered the carb rebuild kit for your 500 Polaris Scrambler? Mine is a 2004 4x4. Mine has oily-looking gas in the airbox, and is hard to start.
I just got it off eBay for like 15$ if I remember right ! But I did buy the float separate off eBay too. Mine had a similar problem of gas coming out of the air filter !
Did you replace the float needle ?? The carbs not shutting the gas off so it’s coming out the over flow basically so replace the float needle and possibly the bowl it goes in and that should stop it
@@wmack7283 if you look at the tip it should be pointy and still rubbery not dry but sometimes the ones in carb kits don’t fit properly and cause that. Same thing happened on my yfz I replaced it with a new one and it wouldn’t seal so try putting the old on back in and see if it leaks if it still does I’d remove the bowl it sits in and order a new one with a new needle possibly
From what it looks like on mine there’s the rubber boot and that goes to the plastic piece threaded on each side. So yes the piece that the air filter goes on is separate from the intake boot so it can extend into the air box you can see a close up at 5:49
i have a 03 scrambledoo 500 carb leaks from what looks like to be the fuel drain. i want to see if i can get away with taking out the airbox and pulling the carb out. ill see if it works
Same thing happened to me on my YFZ. As soon as you turn the fuel on it’s a constant leak. Check the float to make sure there’s no gas in it and it floats, if that’s fine it’s probably the float needle or bowl that’s not shutting the gas off
@@DESERTRATZGARAGE i cleaned it yesterday i think there was dirt making it not screw in all the way. and it didnt leak for the rest of the day i checked on it this morning and right back to leaking
I have the pro taper “atv mid” handle bars with the yellow bar pad and the light bar kit I put on it I tried to look for it on eBay and they don’t sell it anymore unfortunately. Plastics are pretty hard to find for this your best bet is go on eBay and try and find some used plastics in good condition
heck ya dude! just inherited one of these. Needs maintenance. Thank you so much for the vid!
Check out my channel for more vids on it ! There’s really no videos on how to do stuff on these so I try to post everything I do on it !
PS: Thanks for the awesome videos!!
Sheesh. You can tell Polaris didn’t put any thought in easy access for repair and maintenance. Lol.
They definitely had no regards for the people who fix these things 🤣
I may or may not have cursed their name once or twice 👀. And it’s not just this one boys. Get used to it if you are a Polaris fan
What year is the four wheels

Mine is leaking from that little drain spot on bottom , now after carb kit it only leaks while it's running from that same spot

Yes I replaced that , is there a way check if the float needle is bad before installing it

I bought one. It has a new carb and petcock but it loses power and sputters only going up hills. It has me stumped.
Have you checked the valve clearances ?? If they’re outta speck it’ll do that and be really hard to start
Is there a extension for the intake tube boot mines short I need it to b a lil longer ..I have same one you have

I never thought of taking the handlebars off that will make getting fenders off so much easier.
@@jonathanboyce8741 oh yeah it makes it so much easier to pull the plastics off it’s just a few bolts

Is that a full exhaust or just a slip on? And I have the same looking scrambler but my vin# says it's an 05.
It’s just a slip on by white bros, I believe mine is a 04 I know the flame graphics where a special edition by Polaris for their anniversary
The 7th digit in the Vin tells you what year it is.
What handle bars and light setup do you have on your scrambler and do you know where to get plastics for it?

It ran great last summer...💯
You do not need to take handle bars or the cluster out
Mine is purple with a snake skin seat
Great video....terrible music. Very good directions, but irritating beat.
Sorry about that 😅 I’m glad the video helped you out though !
