  • These commercials aired on WFLD on October 30th, 1988
    1. General Foods Commercial Bumper
    2. "Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School" Commercial Bumper
    3. Smurf Magic Berries Cereal (With free Smurf Gummi Goodies)
    4. Wish World Kids (Kids wish they were adults and adults wish they were kids)
    5. Chicagoland Chevy Dealers (*sips coffee*)
    6. Chicago Health Club (With Cher! She's letting you in on something)
    7. "Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School" Commercial Bumper
    8. Fisher Price Star Stage (Incredible)
    9. Island Fun Barbie (Sorry it cuts out at the end)
    10. College Football Thingy (Accidental it looks like? I edited out a long patch of black screen after this)
    11. Bissell Power Steamer at Carson Pirie Scott
    12. Promo for "The Cosby Show" (Didn't they just rip this idea off from "Gremlins"?)
    13. Kool Aid
    14. Crown Books (Wow, that's some bad dubbing, it doesn't even seem like this voice belongs to that guy)
    15. Time 976-1616 (Wow, they didn't have 1-800-POPCORN yet? I really can't imagine paying anyone to know the time, even 25 cents)
    16. Wish World Kids
    17. Always Sisters (Creepy)
    18. Sunkist Fun Fruits Spooky Fruit (I ❤ Skeleton puppets)
    19. Public Insurance (With Steve Stone)
    20. Promo for "Double Dare"
    21. Super Golden Crisp
    22. TeenFun Skipper
    23. Green Stuff from Illinois State Lottery
    24. Homemakers
    25. The Real Ghostbusters Action Figures
    26. Fruity Pebbles
    27. Dubuque Ham
    28. Sure
    29. Jewel
    30. Lil Miss Makeup
    31. Dupont Stainmaster Carpet at Empire
    32. Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana GMC Dealers
    33. Promo for "The Tracy Ullman Show"
    34. Croonchy Stars Cereal
    35. Lego (That Space Monorail set is pretty valuable these days)
    36. Prologue
    37. Sunkist Fun Fruits
    38. Bone Age
    39. Wonder Bread (Apparently eating this will magically remove bad old age makeup)
    40. Sports Phone 976-1313 (1988 really seems to have been the year when these pervasive 976 numbers were at their height. It's a shame it took a few years to get them off the airwaves)
    41. Hot Potato
    42. Lender's Bagels (Why you gotta knock toast, Lender's guy? And what exactly is the benefit of having a hole in the middle? More toast sounds like a good thing)
    43. Promo for "It's Garry Shandling's Show" (I'm still pretty bummed about his death, I feel like he had another show in him)
    44. Promo for "Duet"
    45. Enchanted Island Lady Lovely Locks and Sea Magic Salon
    46. Dubuque
    47. Empire Carpets
    48. Wish World Kids
    49. Always Sisters
    50. Little Caesars
    51. Lottery Players 976-2020 (With Jerry Carroll aka Crazy Eddie!)
    52. Kenner Commercial Bumper
    53. Promo for "Silver Bullet" (I saw this for the first time recently and really enjoyed it. I recommend it to any 80's horror fan. Also strangely one of the few movies I can think of where the werewolf is not the main protagonist)
    54. "Showcase" Intro ("The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" is a cheesy Halloween classic)

@ 2:50 It's Lindsey Price (Beverly Hills 90210, seasons 1998-2000) These 90210 kids rocked the 80s commercial scene.

"I'm Crazy Eddie, and I think paying to find out winning lottery numbers is INSANE! Wait...that didn't sound right."

2:38 - "Even echo sounds!"...Which make you sound like you've developed a severe stuttering problem, apparently, as seen at 2:43.

Jerry Carroll! Most of Chicago probably didn't know who he was but he was still using his Crazy Eddie persona here!

Empire Carpets' jingle hasn't changed, but now they're called "Empire Today."
Zack is still a Lego Maniac. I really wanted (and still want) that monorail. There are some really intricate layouts on UA-cam!

Chicagoland Chevy-seems the guy at the end did a variation on the Kermit The Frog"..but that's none of my business" meme
ChiHealth Clubs-Cher in her"If i could turn back time" phase
Time 976-1616-this and all the other 976 ads..now i see why Hollywood capitalized on this with the film 976-EVIL lol
Always Sisters-this couldve been an inspiration for a "Child's Play" style film
Sure Solid-no one thought to open the windows?
Silver Bullet-good film..that scene in the church...

I have no idea who was voicing Gargamel in that Smurf Magic Berries commercial, but it sure wasn't Paul Winchell! But you can never go wrong with the Swedish Chef! I may have already posted my peace about the Star Stage in another commercial block you posted, I don't know.

Pretty sure I haven't posted the Star Stage ad before.

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that Gargamel sounded different.
I haven't seen that Star Stage commercial in almost 30 years, insane!
