Thanks for watching the video Does Tuscany Feel like Home Yet and other questions
Nicki, I think you’re forgetting that the previous owners are not what I’d call “old friends”. If memory serves me right, they kept you dangling on the closure of the house, they refused to give you access, and they walked out leaving half their possessions there for Carlo to drag out in a tarp to ‘their’ shed, the one they still claim for their belongings. You haven’t mentioned whether or not they’ve actually collected all their cr*p yet? I’d go so far as to say that they were pretty hostile to you, being the new buyers. And if you look further you will see that the house has changed so much in the short time since you moved in! You have both stamped your own personalities on the property, and in my opinion, it looks like home! You have brought much life, energy and soul to this house, and made it truly your own. Embrace it, love it and break the hold that the previous owners have had on this house. It’s looking to you for energy, vibrancy, positivity and heart. Together you’re on a journey of discovery and new beginnings. Home is where the heart is. 🙏🏡💛
You forgot the tortoises.
The bathroom without the sink 😮
Absolutely agree with aussiebushgirl, she has said it all. How they treated you with arrogance and disrespect was blatantly apparent. The home is yours and shines with your energy.
Carlo is a treasure..he has not met a person he does not like!
He's so likeable!
I feel that you could have moved to a village in rural Scotland and Carlo would find a way to chat to everyone he met or bump into someone he knew 😉
Or has he? That would be a great question to ask him in a Q and A.
Right??
Everyone is a friend that he just hasn't met yet! It's such a wonderful way to be!!! TRULY!!!
It won’t take Carlo long to know everyone in your part of Tuscany!
I love that Carlo has an alarm to call his Mother!
This sounds simple but Claim that house as your own, say it outloud several times a day, touch the walls and say mine/ours. At night, as you go to bed say I love falling asleep in our house. I am safe and comfortable in my house, this is our family home, whatever feels strongest for you. Try this for a week and see how you feel. Declare your ownership.
Any suggestions on what to do if you don't own a home yet?
Some cultures like to burn dried sage (safely) and go around the rooms and dismiss that previous energy/or feeling that they left with you. Some people say a prayer and bless the property. It feels like a cleansing no amt of paint can cover.
I’m loving the midweek aperitivo 50 episodes xx
I would love it if you did v-neck women’s T-shirts in the same designs.
Round necks are not always flattering to a lot of women.
I agree, that is my case, I would buy the V neck or a scoop neck one.
Love hearing you speak Italian to each other.
Love, love seeing you mid-week!! How fun!❤
Agreed!!
There is no comparison between the seller’s house and your home! It’s yours, with you and Carlos personally! Enjoy!!
Right? I see so much of them in it already.
Carlo has never met a stranger! Glad to hear him speaking Italian again.
I like Carlos so muc. He is such a happy man. You 2 are such a great couple. Enjoy your day
Sorry, much
I agree!
These Wednesday videos are great. I didn't realize how much I needed aperitivo 50 to hold me over until Sunday 😆 Y'all have a great rest of the week!
What a breath of fresh air to have you both on Wednesday. It makes "hump day" a lot better. Thank you for all that you do for your UA-cam Community. Ciao Bello!
You are both such a good looking couple. I would love to see photos of the two of you in your youth / when you first met.
It's awesome to see you both speaking both languages. It just seems like such a natural interaction between you.
Just a suggestion to “sage” the house to cleanse the energy of the previous owners from the house.
I grew up as a Catholic and I remember when you bought and moved into a new house, if you had a parish you belonged to you could ask the priest to come and bless the home. I suppose that isn’t done any longer. But, I think cleansing the energy out of previous owners is along the same line…Just give it a little more time, Nicki. You both have done SO much, it is really taking on your character(s) so nicely.
That’s something I’d do even if had been vacant for some time. A cleansing 👍
Sage? It takes a priest and a blessing with holy water...for everything.sage Is for cuisine.
@@alessandrom7181burning sage is very important in the indigenous cultures of the Americas as a way of cleansing or offering a blessing.
Not a bad notion 🙏🏻
Living in Tuscany is much more a quiet life. A chapter in your life to be retrospective of the people in your life and to enjoy each moment with Carlo. Positano has your heart, Tuscany had your soul.❤
Living in rural Tuscany at most..try Florence , Pisa, Siena and tell me..🤣
Carlo is jut like my husband, he can talk to anyone about anything. love your walks.
It does take 3 years, but in your situation, still having your home and child and family in Positano, it will always feel like your vacation home, rather than “home-home”. But how nice is that?? Wonderful. 🌟
Yes, I agree with the Sage and open the doors to let the energy out😊
I love both of your homes and enjoy the experiences you share with us.
Nicki, you do such an awesome job with these videos on both channels. You def take after your brilliant parents. You are a star as it seems they were. I hope you don’t mind but I think I’m in love with your Carlo! lol You two are great together. I just adore his personality!
So nice to hear both of you speaking Italian together.
You buy a lot of used furniture and that can hold on to energies. So sage your used furniture pieces too. It might not be the house. You and Carlo have done so much remodeling and cleaning that in itself is a cleansing.
That's exactly what I was thinking Also, take a crystal bell and as you sage each room and your patio area ring the bell. Especially, in the corners of all rooms. Sounds woo woo, however, any energies lingering in the rooms and the furniture will disapate. Actually, you could repeat this twice a week for as long as you are not feeling AT HOME. I am a sensitive and consequently, could never buy used furniture or clothing. Also, only bought new houses whereby I chose all the tiles, rugs, floors, lamps, chandeliers, etc.
Lol all this new Age stuff..It takes a priest and a blessing.. sage Is for kitchen..🙄
@@alessandrom7181 it’s ok if you don’t believe you can have an intention of blessing or curse and rely on a priest instead. We all have our beliefs. Blessings to you.
I enjoyed the walk and the Italian/English conversation 👍♥️
That is the beauty of having two homes and working for yourselves. You can travel between the two whenever you feel like it. I know you have some commitments with the olive harvest this month but usually you can come and go as you please. That is usual. Obviously you have more ties in Positano with your daughter, family and friends and you must miss them and your previous lifestyle. Go between the two as and when you fancy. There are no rules. As time goes on you will find your groove. Just enjoy ❤
You and Carlo were made for each other! Soulmates!
Carlo is a friend to all! Very talented man with a gift of gab and a carpenter to boot!
Would love to see when you try some ‘Tuscan’ recipes!
You guys are so “Blessed” to be able to have two homes with such different “vibes” if you will! ❤❤❤
Nicki, the house has already accepted you, both of you have been working a lot to make it more comfortable and beautiful.
I always like your choice of music. I enjoyed this leisurely walk in the Tuscany countryside.💕
Yes indeed Carlo is a gem ❤❤
Your videos could never be way too long! Sto imparando l'italiano e mi piace molto ascoltare le tue conversazioni... 🫶 🇮🇹
Oh my that field of birtch trees we see behind you when you are walking is stunning.
This was a delightful visit with you two! Thank you so much for the joy you bring to my life. I truly mean that, from my heart.
It's very enjoyable watching your Aperitivo 50 videos! Thank you. The sound of the wind at the top of those trees at the end of this video is truly wonderful. A beautiful place to walk.
Thanks you for taking us on your walks! Carlo is a delight!!🤗
Please continue to take us on walks through the countryside, especially now that winter is around the corner. I live in a farming community but outdoor walks are limited to the streets, too much snow and ice. It lifts my spirits.❤😊
Possibly there could be a co-operativo in the area that collects oil from "smaller " growers to join together for sale, as per vineyards with their grapes if the output is small. Love having a midweek video .
Wonderful video! Carlo will definitely know everyone in a very short time! Bravo ❤❤❤
Love the new channel! Home is where your heart is. No matter which! ❤
It will probably feel more like home when it's cold outside. You'll be spending more time inside. I love your new home & property. ID LOVE TO SEE A VIDEO OF ALL YOUR LAND 🌻
Not surprised you haven’t felt the place is yours, because the previous owners imposed themselves to an abnormal degree before and after the completion of the sale.
IKR, I was thinking about the fact that it could be due to how they kept popping in to take stuff bit by bit, I bet even they still have stuff laying around there! I don't remember them saying the shed was dismantled! Nicki & Carlo have been too gracious and patient
@@arimax888 if the shed still stands, they should do a ritual bonfire with the shed as the kindling. lol
@@daisy9910👏👏😄
Yays, feeling blessed seeing your Sunday posting and now Wednesdays!😍🤌🏻✨💕 Beautiful couple, keep staying blessed and show us these beautiful memories!
Thank you for sharing your love of Tuscany midweek! So nice to spend more time with you both. Love all the questions people are asking.
😂 Carlo! Thank you for the walk and talk in nature. Much love to you and Carlo 🤗❤😊
Here is my 2 cents on your thoughts about the house in Tuscany. You are two thinkers. You both weighed your future as you get older. The steps at Postiano, will become to difficult for either one of you. So after carefully researching and consulting beteeen the both of you, perhaps Sky, and Carlo's family and very dear friends like Elizabeth and others. The final decision was yours to make. You went house hunting. It took a little time and you found it. It will take sometime to get use to it. The inside, the outside, you bought the place with lots of olives, and with a few fruit trees. Eventually, you will make best use of these in time. Your first live is Postiano. There you have your own garden, not that you cannot begin one where currentlu live. It will be more challenging because where you live is a hunter's paradise. More wild animals, animals that will sneak unto the property when your asleep and eat the garden. Carlo, will have to secure the vegetables. He is a wonderful carpenter a man of all things. In the meantime, you are meeting more country folks. They are more layed back than the exciting seatown of Postiano. Anyway, keep busy and stop the stress of the former owners from entering your mind. Try hard to put them behind you. Why cause yourself more anxiety. Every house at one time or another someone owned it. This is your house you searched for. I lived in the country too. More game than fish or greens. I bought myself a freezer to store fish, shrimp, other seafood. It was like coming off the boat! And since you are still able to move around and climb up the stairs to your first love, go when you have the urge or need. In the meantime, give yourself some room to meet the country folks. Have more gatherings at the Tuscany house, particularly during the cold winter months. Not the entire valley, but different ones you meet and have family and friends from Postiano, come stay for a weekend or week with you two. Both your homes are full of love and joy. Take time for yourself. Like when you and when Carlo, can accompany you to visit your dad. What a joy it was to see your father come to see your new house. He was so happy and said some very positive things about it and the villages you took him on tour. Harry, really made your home a place in his heart. You need to try to do the same. It takes time for us women but eventually we conquer our fears. Have a wonderful week, and look forward to your next adventure, whether in Tuscany or Postiano.
What a lovely comment and I fully agree/ Nicki and Carlos are going to rock this, they rock everything they do/
Home is where the heart is. Thank you for sharing.
I can understand why you would feel out of sorts, Nicki. The sellers were a nightmare. Totally selfish and deceitful. What you and Carlo have done to transform your home is amazing. Don't let the sellers steal any joy from your accomplishments! I enjoy your channels so much and have especially enjoyed your journey in Tuscany. Give it time. One day, something will click and it will feel like home. 😊
Wonder what the other neighbors thought of them?
How cool that you met the hunter and had an entree to that community!
I love Carlo and his t shirt, and you speaking Italian😊
If I werepassing through, id helpvyou do a ceremony to clear out the old stagnant energies and express your love and intentions for the home and land itself... light a fire, burn sage insence inside everywhere, windows and doors shut for a while (while you go for a walk) then air out cook a meal, laugh, dance and sing!
Everything little beautiful thing that you two have already done has clearly worked in this direction, but the land and home deserve a proper ceremony Nicki and Carlo style, perhaps in conjunction with the olive harvest, you could have the pool and other friends over to celebrate, spill some wine, make offerings to the nature spirits... garlands of seasonal grasses, flowers and branches, tiaras for the doggies : abbondanza❤❤❤❤
Super great and festive ideas. Several comments on saging the property’s/interior and furniture.. love it 😊
Very good ideas.
Like these short updates with answers. 🌱
Your videos can never be too long! I truly enjoy watching and wish they'd never end ❤️❤️
Love your walking videos....so calming
Oh my gosh I love love love love love when you both talk in Italian together it’s a whole different vibe it’s a whole different dynamic it’s incredible you must do that more often!!!❤
Nice to see you both on Wednesday.
Thank you for bringing us along on your walk with the dogs 🍃🤍🍃 and for answering the questions 😊 I pray that God will bless you and your new home 🙏 Such a treat to get an extra video 🌿🕊🌿 Tuscany is lucky to have you 🤍 xoxo 🇳🇿
I too love fresh vegetables….I’m so happy you both have a wonderful diet and you’re always walking or physically working. 🤗
WoW! That’s Awesome! Have a lovely weekend! 🫶🏻🤩❤️✨
Nicki, I didn’t realize you were so fluent in Italian. I’m impressed!
Of course it will feel like a home! You guys have done a fantastic job! So cozy. A house is a house, a home is a home. Love to you both from Norway 🇳🇴
My Latino husband is very much like Carlo very talkative and friendly to everyone where I am more reserved to take a while to form deeper relationships.Maybe the previous owners' obnoxious spirits need to be purified with sage sticks! Love what you've done to make the house and grounds your own! ❤
Love both your homes! Prayers that you may find your way into the Tuscany home! Be patient❤
Hello👋🏼 I have a suggestion for the room in the back that had the extra kitchen in it. My suggestion is to turn it into a butler’s pantry to store more of ur kitchen items. Like appliances, can goods, wine, or cleaning products. So, build it in the whole room or just on the right hand side of the room where the tile on the wall is at. Floor to ceiling cabinets with solid or glass doors.
The other pantry area off the kitchen can be turned into (all things) coffee/tea/wine bar area. U can never go wrong with extra storage for your kitchen. Well those r my ideas I have for those areas every time I watch ur videos. Let me know what u think. Thank u & enjoy ur Tuscan home 😊💗
Can’t, already a TV room
i love it when i can see you both on Wednesday and Sunday :)You are both such a lovely couple, you are a joy to watch :) See you on Sunday, ciao xx
What gorgeous scenery you have for walks. Enjoying your new channel 😊
Nicki & Carlo A mid-week video chat with you both is a treat.
Ciao Nicky and Carlo, I absolutely love watching you both such a beautiful country. You really are making a wonderful home❤fantastic up-cycling
I love what you have done with the Tuscany home thus far. You, to me, have truly made it a home of your own. I love the countryside, the trails, the views. It is a bit of heaven there.
God bless your family ❤❤
Have a good walk it is so good for you and dogs!
Great video and quite the treat. Love the background music here.💚
Hi thank you for sharing I feel great vibes for you in your new house it just takes time, and as you have Positano your sharing your time at both sending love ❤
I love your new show. Carlos can you please do moe shows on you working on the house. I'm amazed how you make it look so easy . I also love shows on when you and Nicki go shopping. Keep up the good work guys.
Carlo is going to need a really big logia to fit in all the neighbors and people he collects and makes friends with. That is such a gift.
Another fabulous video from you amazing people, I really enjoyed watching it, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
I've just realized that we,your viewers and fans are starting to feel at home in Tuscany 😊..we love it!!😂❤
What a lovely new channel! 🥰 And wonderful to hear you both speaking the most beautiful language in the world😇😇
Yes..
Really enjoying the midweek content guys. So glad your settling in well in Tuscany. 😊
I love this mid-week format. It’s refreshing and fun. Much love to you all ❤
What a beautiful capture of tree alleys behind you as you walked, talking about the olive harvest.
Such a many-dimentional effect. Almost like page turning...and another one, and another one, and another one...
It is wonderful to have these midweek pick-me-ups to look forward to -- thank you so much 💐
IT SURE IS!
I love that we don't have to wait a whole week to see you guys! I envy you for having that wonderful lush greenery to walk in every day. I'm average build yet struggle to talk & walk at the same time lol you guys are so fit
I’m really enjoying your new channel! Light, easy, real. Congrats! 😊 ❤ 🤗
The meal on the hunting grounds is great. What a nice community event. I'm looking forward to seeing the olive harvest. When I have moved to a new home, especially after my kids lived at home and could help fill it up, I found that it took having some friends and family over, sharing meals, celebrating special days and holidays, even having sick days at home to make it feel like home. Once you start adding to your memories there it will feel more and more like home. Interesting about the differences in food availability there. Thx for a mid-week video. I'm really enjoying these.
What a beautiful walk and interesting questions answered! Love how you are both on your way to integrating into the community. It isn't always the easiest thing to do but you are doing it well!
Hello Nicki & Carlo, The lovely walk inspired me to go out for a walk. I am really enjoying the Aperitivo content.
It's brilliant that the hunters are targeting wild boar. They're a blight everywhere, tearing up valuable farmland. I really hope they keep it up. I've never had it, but apparently it's delicious. What a unique culture to explore the world of hunters. Also, it's surprising to not have as many veggies on tap, what with all that farmland. The dogs are loving the wide open spaces too. I think your house in Tuscany is nothing like the previous owners. You have great taste, and you've put your own stamp on it, both inside and out. It'll take time, and it'll take many visits with family and friends to convert it to your own homestead.
Nikki remember how you felt moving all the way from England to Positano? All change just takes a little time! I’m confident you, Carlo and hopefully sweet Skye will feel like just another “Home”…..it’s always where the heart is…..at that time❤❤❤
We are sending you some love from Tennessee. We have been watching your content on Positano Diaries since 2020. We are thrilled we have more content on Aperitivo 50 to enjoy😘. Thank you!
The walks are beautiful. So great to see you twice a week!
Just to mention that if you lower the background music a bit, it will make it easier to hear your conversations. 😉Love you guys!😚💗
Remember you were once a tourist ...
As an older person, I could barely understand what you were saying. Love your videos!
But they, stopped the background music after just a few minutes! I understood everything.
Lovely walk. Reminds me of tromping around the Arceno estate where we often stay near Castelnuovo Berardenga. What do you call the tall grasses you walked by? We saw them all over Italy and I also grow them in my backyard in the southern USA. We always called them Ribbon Cane because they look like green and white striped ribbons in Spring.
@@mariannesouza8326 Me too.
That was great. Love it when both of you chat with us xxx
This was a fun video to watch. I always enjoy seeing Carlo. Sending loving and peace-filled thoughts to everyone.
Your doing a fabulous job. So enjoying your journey. Love everything you guys have done to make it your own home. The feels will happen when it's suppose to. Until then, your settling in, making it comfy, cozy, warm , or cool, and nicely updating ! It's a huge change from life on the coast. These things take time and much effort. Give yourselves a break in knowing the blessings in having the best of both worlds.
Love you guys much, doggies too ❤
