    I’ve used Ruggables now for seven or so years. The Velcro pad wears out allowing children and pets to easily rolls or shift rug. The water proof barrier also brakes down over time from washing and wear. I’ve replaced my rugs multiple times swapping out tops. The padded base is nicer than the original but not worth the extra money. I purchased interlocking tumble or work out pads to place underneath in my sons room and going to do that tin my living room as well. I have two cats and two dogs and a special needs adult son who crawls and is incontinent so they are washed about once a month due to accidents, lots of wear. I did not know tumble until recently so may invest in one of their rugs. IN accident prone areas I use smaller 3x5 ruggables over the larger Ruggable that’s an 8x10 for ease of cleaning in my son’s room. Makes it easy to swap out the topper multiple times a week for washing. They have taken a lot of wear for sure. I also have several runners that have held up well. My Ruggable in the living room has been replaced four times in seven years. The padded back I’ve had for three years has lost its Velcro ability and the pad is starting to fall apart in high traffic areas. Not sure if I will be purchasing another. I may just try to put the Ruggable on a store bought interlocking pads moving forward. I’m happy over all with them considering the wear and tear they get. Just. Not sure if I will purchase anymore moving forward. For the price perhaps I’ll give Tumble a try. Sorry to ramble but I’m hoping this information is helpful.

    I have both. Ruggable washes fabulously! That being said, it’s like a mat more than a rug.
    I purchased several tumble rugs because the quality appeared to be much better. They got dirty so fast. I vacuum 2x week and it doesn’t matter with high traffic areas. The area rugs that center furniture are great. Stay away from runners.

      In my experience, both rugs wash very well. I have two Tumble runners and I love them both and I’ve had a great experience with them. My large 8 x 10 tumble rug tends to get dirty quickly because it’s under my dining room table. In between washes, I’m able to easily clean it with my little rug cleaner.

    I spilled coffee on my beige/white Ruggable rug twice and it did not stain. I did put oxiclean powder in the washing machine. I've had it for over a year and it still blows me away at how good it looks. But I need a darker version with my two pups. It's hassle putting it down over the velcro pad every week.

    Maybe they have changed their policy since you bought your rugs, but Ruggable definitely now has the option to simply order a new cover if you already have the pad. It is the same on the German and UK sites, by the way.

    I never heard of Tumble rugs and I was just looking at Ruggable rugs yesterday. Your video was so informative. Thank you for that!
    The Ruggable is completely attached with a Velcro pad. The Tumble is just attached to the pad in the corners.
    So what keeps the Tumble rug from shifting, rolling or folding in the center?

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors
      @DoriTurnerInteriors  5 місяців тому +3

      I’m so glad you found it helpful! Tumble includes corner rug grippers with the rug to help keep it in place and they work really well. The rug fits tightly over the pad, so it doesn’t fold much. I don’t have any trouble at all with my runners. I have noticed with the one under my dining table (8x10) that it can get a little wrinkled with the chairs being moved in and out frequently so that is a downside vs it being Velcroed down on Ruggable’s.

    This video was so helpful!! Thank you 😊 how would you say the feel is on the tumble rug? The non spill feature is so amazing but it makes me wonder if the rug might not feel like a rug? Is it rough or plastic feeling at all?

    Thanks for the review. There’s an Australian brand called Protectme that has a spray you can put on fabrics, and it seems like it’s the same thing is that’s on Tumble rugs to begin with - liquids sit on top. Thought this might be helpful as a way to keep the rug spill-proof after a few washes.
    I’m looking at buying a Tumble rug. I’ve heard they can be tricky to vacuum since the rug itself is so thin and not attached to the rug pad in the same way the Ruggable one is. I also wonder if it slides around or you trip on the edges - I’m worried my dog will trip on it when she’s doing zoomies! Thanks heaps.

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors
      @DoriTurnerInteriors  Рік тому +1

      Oh wow! Thanks for sharing, I’ll have to see if I can find some!
      The vacuum I use is made for hard floors and area rugs so the suction isn’t as strong as a regular vacuum cleaner and does great with the Tumble rugs…I could see where a standard vacuum cleaner wouldn’t do well on these rugs though! The rug does tend to slide around if there’s nothing holding it down. We haven’t had any trouble with tripping on the edges though!

    Please compare the thickness of the Tumble pad with the regular Ruggable pad. Tumble claims theirs is thicker. Also can you address the pile and feel of the rugs? How do they compare?

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors
      @DoriTurnerInteriors  Рік тому +1

      Hi Susie! Ruggable offers two different types of pads. They have their regular pad which is not as thick as the Tumble pad. But their thick pad is thicker than Tumble’s. I purchased the thicker Ruggable pad since it was going in front of my kitchen sink for extra padding for my feet while doing dishes. Similarly with the pile, Tumble and Ruggable’s original rug are very similar. They are very low pile. Ruggable’s is probably a little softer on feel. But Ruggable also offers thicker piled rugs now if you prefer.

    I have read many reviews about the ruggable rugs curling around the edges or the edges not laying flat. Do the tumble rugs do the same thing?

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors
      @DoriTurnerInteriors  Рік тому +3

      I have experienced that as well with Ruggable. I have not had the same trouble with Tumble curling up on the edges. In fact, they include rug grippers you can use on the corners but I haven’t needed them.

  • @elisalawson9457

    I do love the thicker pad with the rug gable. How does the tumble pad compare ?

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors
      @DoriTurnerInteriors  4 місяці тому

      The Tumble pad is between the two pad thicknesses Ruggable offers. It’s like a foam rubber material and is somewhat cushy under your feet. It’s probably close to 1/2” thick.

    I’m curious if you have a robot vacuum and if so which you think is more vacuum friendly. Was one more or less prone to curling up at the edges? Are there any others available n the market to consider? Thanks!!!

      I don’t, I’ve tried a couple different ones and was never impressed, I ended up returning them. I have a little push vac that you can use on both hard flooring and low pile rugs that both vacuums and mops and I love it!

    Thanks for your review . I just got my first Ruggable rug and am very happy so far. Then I watched your video and your overall summary that Tumble is your preferred choice. Your Point 1: affordable… yes, for sure… but I saw that your Tumble rug had lots of wrinkles in it while your Ruggable rug did not. For me, this is a big reason to pay a bit more. Also, Ruggable does offer an option on its website to select just the rug if you already have the underpad. Your Point 2: the spillproof feature - my take on this is that, first off, the ‘hand feel’ of the Tumble Rug is not as soft, is perhaps stiffer; and second, the spillproof coating doesn’t last forever. My other take on this is that the Tumble rug is less permeable, and water does not pass through as well, which could have a negative impact while cleaning in the washing machine. (I can’t see how a washing machine could clean it as well if water doesn’t easily pass through.)

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors
      @DoriTurnerInteriors  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback! I do like my Ruggable kitchen rug and it doesn’t have the wrinkles due to the Velcro pad, but the pad can also be a pain when trying to attach the rug to the pad. If you don’t get it straight the first time you have to start over.
      Tumble is not quite as soft, as you said probably due to the spill proof coating but I’ve never had trouble getting stains out of the rugs whether wiping or washing so I disagree with the negative impact.
      But, to each his own! I love my Tumble rugs.

    I have 2 small dogs that sometimes have accidents inside. Is the Tumble mat made of a material that can be cleaned to remove the smell of urine once the rug’s spill proof protection wears off?

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors
      @DoriTurnerInteriors  3 дні тому

      Yes! Tumble rugs were made with that in mind even after the spill proof protection isn’t as effective due to several washings. The rugs still wash beautifully and the mats underneath clean up easily without leaving smells behind. It’s safe to use spot removers if needed on the rug itself and you can use soap and water on the mat underneath.

    • @DoriTurnerInteriors

      Yes it lays flat… I wouldn’t say that it’s super comfortable to sit on because it’s not a thick and cushy rug. It’s great for kids to play on because it’s a flat surface and washable, etc. but not necessarily comfortable if that makes sense?
