    Because I’m a fan of budget-friendly finds, it took me a while to warm up to the idea of trying a Ruggable rug. Let’s be honest - they’re a little pricey! However, after having them in our Tiny Lake House vacation rental and in our own home for over a year, I’m a believer. Not only are they beautiful to look at, but I love that I can clean them in my washing machine!

    It's so cool to learn that Ruggable listened to their customers' feedback about the corners curling up and spent the extra time and money on a fix.

    Amazing review. Worth watching entire video. I cannot imagine having a non-ruggable rug in the kitchen. With kids my kitchen is basically a circus. I refuse to put a rug in there that cannot be washed and washed well.

    It's really nice to get an honest review. You answered all the questions I've heard on these rugs. I did hear another review about the corners curling up, but think it was before the new corners were introduced.
    Very good, thank you!

    Thank you for your clear review, especially the bit about Ruggablechanging the corners of the rug to stop the curling. That was my biggest concern, but I was also aware that the comments I was reading were from 3-4 years ago, and didn’t know whether this had been fixed or not! I think I’m now ready to order a 6x9 for under the dining table, and a 4x6 for in front of the couch. Thanks for putting my mind at rest! ❤️.

  • @Beruthiel45
    @Beruthiel45 9 місяців тому +8

    Oh, a really useful and helpful video! It's been harder in recent years to find replacement rugs that are non slip, and I've wondered about Ruggables more than once. When we redid our floors a few years ago we put narrow light wood planks in the high traffic areas except for tiles at the entries and carpet elsewhere, and find even rugs with rubberised backing will slip and slide. I've replaced several because of safety issues due to age and health and ended up taking rugs away altogether except at the entries and kitchen sink. Thanks for the detailed info, I'll have to check out Ruggables and see if I like the styles, I hope so! Bare wood is nice in hot weather but not so much in the cold. 😊❤

    Not being able to vacuum these is a deal breaker. Who wants to drag an 8x10 rug outside every week and beat it with a bat basically like we are on little house on the prairie ? No-go....

      @@thediymommy I have the same issue. I have several Ruggable and washable rugs and I can't vacuum any of them. I have tried 5 different types of vacuums/manual sweepers. None work. The only thing that has worked great but a pain to clean is my Tineco wet/dry vacuum. What do you use???!

  • @arenamama
    @arenamama 9 місяців тому +4

    I bought several this summer- major investment! Not sure if they are worth the hype. Mine are very thin and flat, but the edges want to curl. Be careful when vacuuming not to catch the edge or, as with any rug, the binding will easily unravel. I bought one large, heavier outdoor one which has never dried quickly after rain. I am hopeful I can dry it over a railing before winter but have concerns it will be difficult to clean and maintain.

    Thanks for this review. I’ve been thinking about purchasing a Ruggable rug and you answered a lot of my questions and concerns. I think I will go for it. I don’t mind spending more money if I can easily wash the rug myself. Many times I see carpets or rugs in homes that appear to need a good cleaning but you know it’s a pain to take it somewhere and steam cleaning can be costly. I saw a nice tip if you wanted a larger rug but didn’t want to spend more money or afraid you couldn’t fit it in the washing machine: buy a larger neutral, jute or woven rug and place a smaller ruggable rug on top of it. Layering always looks nice and gives a designer look. Thanks diy mommy!

    We recently bought a Ruggable rug for our living room but it wasn't the right colour and sadly I needed to exchange it. Unfortunately they don't offer exchanges to customers in Canada, so I had to ship the rug cover back as a return which cost me a little over $170.00 and then purchase a new one. I hope that as the company grows they can offer other return and exchange options for those outside of the USA.

    • @katiebestevaar7948

      Someone suggested that due to the cost of returning the rug, they just advertised it on social media, and it sold immediately, and the person buying it didn’t have to wait weeks for delivery. Just a thought…

    A trick for rug corners flipping up that I have used is: take a glass of water, set it on the corner. Then, put an ice cube or two on the area, and once it melts, the glass of water weighs down the corner, and it dries flat!!

    We purchased our first Ruggable runner this spring for our kitchen and I love it! We got the extra cushion-y underpad for extra comfort when washing dishes or prepping meals. We love it. It has a light beige background with a light grey and peach pattern. We have washed it once and spot clean it as needed. We did throw it in the dryer. It came out beautifully. Our iRobot vacuum cleaner sometimes flips up the corners of the rug but usually this is not an issue and they are easily flipped back and lay flat. Ours does have the corner reinforcement. Would I get another runner? Absolutely! I’m thinking about one for my front entrance and a smaller mat for my back door. (Just waiting for a sale 😊) I think if I were to buy a larger rug I would look at the newer plush styles. I think that format would look more luxurious in a larger format size. But thanks for the size tip on fitting in the washing machine. And I do love your runner. It’s beautiful!

    Weve had our Ruggable rug for almost three years. I love it!! Its not as white as it was but that's not its fault - it's our water. It washes well but I probably should take it to a laundry mat and have it professionally cleaned and away from our rusty water.
