      G'day Luke. Great to see you live streaming the other day. That's the longest live stream I've ever participated in LOL. Even me old mate Mike (Bluehands) told me he watched in its entirety also. Yeah I'm super stoked with the new vice. Best machine vice I've ever owned. I like it even more than the Gerardi's at work lol. See you on Saturday mate. Cheers, Azza.

      G'day Tom how are you mate? Thanks buddy, I'm so happy that I finally got my hands on a professional quality vise. I can't wait to start using it. My new machine arrives today (fingers crossed), so the Orange vise will make a great addition to my shop. Cheers, Aaron.

    Congratulations on the new machine! That vise looks real nice too! I also have Orange vises and I'll say that I'm mostly happy with them. Yours has several improvements over mine. Making the movable jaws reverseable is a clever idea, and Carvesmart jaws seem like they'd be very convenient too.

      Hey buddy how's it going? Great to hear from you. Trust you've been well and doing heaps of machining. Love the look of your camera enclosures. Bloody fantastic looking product. TBH, I wish you made one for the Sony Action camera lol. Yeah thanks man for watching. I love my new Orange Vise. It's an awesome piece of kit. Cheers, Aaron

      Thanks again! In a lot of ways I prefer the Sony action cameras, but their form-factor is just so much different than the others. I hadn't even really considered trying to adapt the Crace to the Sony cams... but maybe you've put the bug in my ear now.
      ... heh, thinking back, my Sony waterproof enclosure was actually the very first enclosure to succumb to coolant.

      Hey Mike. Thanks buddy I'm so happy that I got this bad boy. I've been wanting one for a long time now, and the when the opportunity presented itself with the boys from ChipX I jumped at it and made it happen. For sure mate, you need to get back in front of that camera and start pushing videos out again. Mind you it is a lot of work, as you probably know. Luckily for me, UA-cam and machining at home is my hobby and not my full time job. I don't how these guys pump out 3-4 videos per week. I struggle with one a week or two a month. Cheers, Aaron

Can't wait to clock it in on the new mill and give her a whirl. Hey, I like your scale boat. Reminds me of that old TV show called McHale's navy. Cheers, Aaron.

    Orange Vise has really nailed it! They are down the street from me too.
    Wishing they made some smaller options for my small machine and small parts. A 4inch/100mm with integrated Carve Smart jaws. Right now I am using a bunch of Kurt 3400V's, which are not bad but I want better mounting and precision quick change jaws really bad.

      Oh really? Now you're making me jealous ;-) I would love to swing past their factory and take a tour (look around). Eric has some really cool machines down there. Yes, a smaller 4" vise would make a good addition to his line up and I think they would sell well. Especially with the hobbyist and small cnc shop owners too. Hope you've been well? Cheers, Aaron.

    I've got some of these as well as a bunch of Schunk vices, these are pretty awesome, probably not quite as good as the schunk ones but pretty close, the kicker is they are literally 1/3 the cost.

    • @DCT_Aaron_Engineering
      @DCT_Aaron_Engineering  5 років тому

      Hi Craig. Those Schunk vises are nice piece of kit. They make a range of 5 axis working holding stuff as well. You do notice some inaccuracy with these cheaper ones, especially kicking up when tightening etc... Thanks for watching mate. Cheers, Aaron.

    Seen a few of your videos. Well done mate..
    I just bought a VMC and am after a good quality vise / vises so this video is timely. Any indication of orange vise pricing in Aussie dollars including shipping to Sydney?
    I assume I can alternatively contact "Chip-X" for this info?
    Look forward to seeing you set the new toy up on your machine.

Hey buddy, best to get in direct contact with the ChipX boys for an accurate price. I expressed shipped mine (international air freight) and that alone with duty/taxes cost me over $1K. To be honest, compared to my other vise that came with my Skyfire there is no comparison. From what I've seen they're worth every dollar spent.

      Hello Steven, no not at all. Retail prices for Orange vises are outlined on the ChipX website. Now I wanted mine in a hurry, so I opted for International air freight. So freight, import duty & GST was an extra $1010. If you want my honest opinion, send Scott or Gavin from ChipX and message and see if you guys can do a deal. Hope this helps? Cheers, Aaron

    • @DCT_Aaron_Engineering
      @DCT_Aaron_Engineering  5 років тому +1

      Valentin Valentino Hey Valentin, this style of vise has the vast steel base and steel mechanisms. However the sliding jaw is aluminium. It was designed to reduce table weight on smaller machines. You can get steel sliding if you want 😉

      @@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Thank you for your answer🙂.
      I select vice for my new HAAS , so the information you provided is very important for me. I use Fribosa vice on my milling ТМ-1 machine now and I really like it. But for my new Haas it's too small. I need bigger vice and dual station vice. I really liked Orange dual station vice, but I have a question to a vice user. How much does the part lift with an average and heavy clamping forces?
      My Fribosa vice lift the part on 0,01-0,02mm, so I have an opportunity doing high precision work. Did you measure how high the Orange vice lift the part?
      Thanks in advance for your reply.
      P.S. I'm sorry for my bad English.
