G’day Matty. Absolutely one of the best beginner/ intermediate 3D printer on the market. Sturdy build quality, whisper quiet and amazing print quality. It has run flat out at the TAFE for 2-3 weeks straight. Cheers 🍻
G’day Rus. Thanks mate, this Creality Neo absolutely rocks. Can’t believe how quiet and quick it is. Print quality is awesome too, leaves my old Wanhao i3 touch for dead. Cheers 🍻
@@heeder777 I agree, Russtuff is a top bloke and his channel has produced some really awesome content over the years. Not sure if you know, but Rus, Luke (CruddCNC) and me all converted similar manual mills back in the day. 👍🍻
Great video Aaron! I have the older version of the ender 3 pro. I did all kinds of upgrades on mine too. And it was working really good but lately I have been having alot issues with it not printing properly. Around my area I don't have alot of people that use 3d printers. Wish I lived closer to you so I could get some advice and show me so troubleshooting methods for better printing. Lately it has been driving my crazy trying to troubleshoot the issues I am having with it lol
Hello how are you? Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm sorry to hear that you've been having problems with your 3D printer. May I offer a suggestion. I would use the power of social media (YT, FB or Insta) to shoot a little video on your phone and upload it to your channel and ask the user group / community for help. There are a lot of smart people out there (way smarter than me) who could probably get you sorted. Best of luck and keep me updated on your progress. Cheers, Aaron.
I have an original version that I heavily upgraded and works just fine and I learned a a lot using that. My main printer now though is a Prusa which it looks like Creality has added a lot of functions that the Prusa has but with a nice cost savings. Printing proof of concept has saved me a lot of heart ache when I updated the CNC conversion on my mill. By printing all the components first all of the misfits were identified and fixed before actually making chips. 🎃
Hey buddy, yes you can't beat 3D printing for rapid prototyping and proof of concept. We've got a Markforged Mk2 at work that can print infused carbon fibre. It allows us to print usable parts to an engineering standard. As for this little Creality Neo, it is absolutely awesome. I've been running it day and night at the TAFE college. Good to hear you using CNC mill and 3D printing concepts. How's the RC stuff coming along? Cheers, Aaron.
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Went flying today, I picked up one of those Goosky S2 Helis. Amazing little bird. Low stress flying compared to the 700 i normally take out.
Hi Aaron, I recently (about 6 weeks ago) got an Ender 3 V2 (but not the Neo). Mine was supposedly a refurbished unit, but I suspect it was really just a returned unit that the customer couldn't assemble properly. A square, some allen keys, and a half hour later, I had the thing trued up. Keeping the bed level has been a pain in the behind, but I recently heard about the BLTouch which looks like an earlier revision to the bed level probe you get with the Neo, and that's on my TODO list. I have a dual gear extruder on order, and I'm pretty tempted to do an all metal hot end upgrade and replace the textured glass to a similar bed surface that you have too. The V2 was a lot of mini upgrades to the original V1 and pro, and it seems like the Neo has many of these upgrades that end users do rolled in! One thing that you might find handy is a 0.6mm nozzle. You can (approximately) double the speed at which you poop material out of the hot end and so you can (approximately) double the linear speeds resulting in faster print times. Sure you lose a little detail, but that is likely not a big issue for things like drawer organisers for tools :) Would be keen to see you do some sort of joint project with Makers Muse or Teching Tech (both in Australia!).
G’day Adam it’s nice to hear from you mate. Good to see you getting involved in 3D printing and having a crack. As I stated in the video I don’t do a lot of it, but it’s great R&D and proof of concept. This little Neo is awesome Adam. I was blown away by just how well it works. I laughed when I read the collaboration suggestion, I highly doubt it as my channel is small fry. I hope the job is treating you well mate. Next time I’m up your way or you’re down my way we need to catch up. Bye for now 🍻 Aaron.
I bought the bigger brother to this (Ender 3 S1) earlier in the year!! it was kindof weird how you just take a machine out of the box and don't need to build 10+ random mods for it, since everything just comes ready to use. The only thing I made was a little bracket to hold the tools. It's been running out in my garage ever since...
G’day Andy. Good to hear from you mate. Yes these creality printers are excellent bang for buck. Can’t believe how well they perform. How have you been mate? Are you still teaching CNC over there in the USA? Cheers buddy 🍻
Hello Aaron, A very good review... I have a 3D printer on the way, I hope it is as easy to setup as that one, I am keen to use it for prototyping myself. Take care. Paul,,
G’day Paul. Great to hear that you a 3D printer on the way. No you can put those newly acquired CAD skills to good use. I can’t speak highly enough of this Creality Neo. It’s been running flat out for the past 3 weeks. Cheers Paul 🍻. Aaron
Hey Aaza, I am still rocking my aldi printer. Got a nice little unit at work. I see some cool robots in the backround. You got any on a lathe???. I am trying to get one set up for work. Nice unboxing😉.
G’day Sunil. Always good to hear from you buddy. We have 2 robot arms, one on the Haas and one in a training cell. I need to get my head around them asap. I too have an ALDI Cocoon create, but this Neo runs rings around it. Very impressed with the Creality build and print quality. Cheers 🍻
Great vid buddy! Dang that thing is quiet!! If I did more printing, I think I'd get one just for that reason.......hmmm.....maybe if I had a quieter printer, I'd do more printing. lol I don't think I've printed anything for over a month. Luckily, you don't have any viewers in the US that would like/need a purchase link like you did for every other country out there..... LOL ;) I slaved away for about 10sec to find it on amazon over here. It took longer to find the build volume.....about 11sec. Since the printer goes to the facility, did you get to make the vid on company time?
G’day Mike. Thanks for watching buddy. Yes I shot the video on company time. I actually donated that printer to the TAFE college. Did you see the Amazon USA 🇺🇸 link in the description? I just copied and pasted their links without checking them. Mmm 🤔 maybe I should now 😉. To be honest with you, this little Creality printer is awesome. I wish I kept now 😞
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering I didn't see any USA link...at least not one labeled as such......that's why I was giving you a bit of crap about it. lol Is the TAFE college different from where you work?
Hi Aaron, I have an older Creality Mini, and I find it a really good printer. I think the upgrades applied on this new Ender 3 will cut out a lot of the upgrades that users have been doing. Not that I have done much in the way of upgrades to my mini. Watched some of this with no volume, is that a flexible bed plate? Great video mate.
G’day Nigel. Yes I was very impressed with the build and print quality of this printer. It is so quiet, that you can barely hear it running. Yes it has a magnetic flexible build plate. Silly me forgot to show it 🤦♂️. Thanks for watching mate. Cheers 🍻
Great video but what you don't say is the build quality of the Ender 3 V2 Neo, it's great when working but it has so many problems and needs upgrading very quickly. And when it does go wrong Creality ignore all pleas for help,, it took me a while to get them to reply to me and all they said was to strip the machine down. Well erm, NO, if I buy a car and it has a fault I don't expect the manufacturer to tell me to strip the engine. Very poor customer service, of course if they read my complaint they would have realised that the printer I got was not only faulty but had been used. There was traces of filament on the bed and in the nozzle. Also there wasn't a tool kit with it, so to set it up I had to go out and buy one. After numerous complaints all I got was "Very Sorry". As I said extremely poor customer service.
Hi David. Thank you for the honest feedback. I’m sorry that you had those problems with your machine. To be honest I was given this machine to review for free, but no money changed hands. I donated the Neo to the TAFE college where I teach and to be honest it is still going strong. We have put 8 rolls of eSun filament through it. However, we did have to change out the tubing and filament nozzle once. Hope you get it sorted mate. Cheers 🍻 Aaron
G’day Rick. Thanks for watching buddy. Yes I was lucky to be asked to review that printer. As you know I rarely do UA-cam reviews but was keen for a printer at work. So hence the video. Thanks, the shirt is my work uniform at the new Advanced manufacturing centre. Cheers buddy🍻 Aaron
