Taking a chain or other heavy metal objects and pouncing your hammer on the chain or metal piece against the furniture is a way that I’ve seen woodworkers age wood. My father was a carpenter and did that to ceiling beams that he put up in an old farm house that he was renovating. It was beautiful.
You do such a fantastic job! Love the color and the chippiness and the dirt lol and the distressing..... it's so cool. I totally agree with you ..... I would never buy that with the solid wood color but I sure would snap it up the way you restored it! Just lovely! I enjoy your videos very much. God bless.... Holly
That bread box was the winner today, the glass really pops now! You keep painting what/how you need! We are here to learn, we can alter colors if we need to 😉💜
When I first found you a couple of years ago, I remember you saying “Do what you love. Somebody else will love it too” Words to live by in the DIY world, imo. Thanks for another great inspirational video!❤
I'm purist on some things! I have a 104 year old treadle sewing machine I'd never paint the cabinet. Bread boxes...yes. Partly because most out there are not that old. Chunky 80s style. That green is perfect.
I love your painting technique. All your items turn out beautifully. I have kitchen cabinets, the color of the breadbox. It's a great color!Thank you for sharing your God-given talent.
All of your projects today were absolutely wonderful. I love the look of wood but seeing the transformation of the stools and breadbox, I am changing my mind. I have a stool like your that I am going to paint thanks to you. And I want more green in my kitchen. Would love the bread box but have no room. Thank you for your inspiration!
I grew up with the greens of j the 60s. These shades are"hospital greens" because all hospital rooms, corridors, exam rooms, etc were green. Green is my favorite interior paint color. I really love the sign, I guess because it's different. Great job on that breadboard too. My momma had a green one.😊
I love all that you do!! I remember when I first found you when almost all your projects were either white with black undercoat and distressed or plack distressed with Waverly antiquing wax to finish it off!! Now I never know what you're going to do woman!!! You have come such a long way and are now open to so much more ideas and techniques!!! I absolutely love all you do from when I first started watching you until now!! Keep doing what you do!!
Do you remember an old episode of Mary Tyler Moore where she was going to antique furniture? She beat her furniture with a chain and started laughing and felt so weird beating her furniture. This episode just popped in my head. Lol. Thank you for sharing.
I absolutely love watching all your creations. I would love to visit your shop. I so want to find a couple of swans. They are so beautiful wonderful job as usual
Hi Yvonne, I haven't heard you mention that green color was extremely popular in the 1930's followed by red in the 1940's. I love everything you create! Much love from NC.
Oh yummy, that green is perfect! I just love it! It’s just like the green from way back then. Now I want to do over my tall stool with that green. My heart be still…. the swan is so beautiful black n I want one. Never knew that their beaks were a red color. That’s cool. Bread box looks so good with the green. I’m sure it will sell now. Now that sign you found n adding your own cards turned awesome especially with the rusty chain. Hey Yvonne, they all perfectly imperfect! ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟
Beautiful as always. I appreciate that you take time to finish the whole piece, backs included. So many don’t! You sincerely care about each one! I have learned so much from you! Thank you for so much inspiration!
I love your bread box, but I love everything you do!! I think I want to use more milk paint. I wish you lived closer, I would pick your brain, on all your ideas and how you decide on things to paint!!❤❤❤❤
Of course they all came out great. The bread box is a 100 times better now. Love it . Your Swan is beautiful black. I hope you kept it to go with other one you did over. Hugs
The old timey green is my favorite, so many old pieces are painted that way. I like to dirty up my things too! your terra cotta pots are an inspiration, i bought a whole bag of about 10 for 5 dollars at GW some aged others i am aging , putting them in a crate outside .
Great stools. I absolutely LOVE the Board and Rooms, GREAT SAVE! The swan is lovely. The bread box looks so much better. Really loving that green color! TFS Yvonne
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the bread box!!! The old sign was good too. The stools came out so much better than the "brand new" look. And the black swan....gorgeous!! TFS.😊❤
LOVE that gorgeous black swan! My friend had a swan on her pond. (His mate died.) He was very fiesty. She always carried a broom to keep him from attacking her. Why do we love them so much? They are NOT cuddly!!!
The breadbox and black swam are my favourite! I’ve been looking for a breadbox for a few years. The green would be perfect in my white kitchen… wish I was closer because I’d nab it!
I have my grandmother's old silverware caddy. My grandfather made it and painted it this color green. It's a treasure. I'm 67.
Taking a chain or other heavy metal objects and pouncing your hammer on the chain or metal piece against the furniture is a way that I’ve seen woodworkers age wood. My father was a carpenter and did that to ceiling beams that he put up in an old farm house that he was renovating. It was beautiful.
Yes.. I’ve done that with bigger pieces too
Great transitions of the sign and bread box they turned out great. The stools definitely turned out aged looking also.
The black swan is beautiful but that bread box is absolutely gorgeous, I wish I lived close to your booth
Yvonne I love how you rescue the broken things instead of trashing them I look at thins with more potential now🥰
You do such a fantastic job! Love the color and the chippiness and the dirt lol and the distressing..... it's so cool. I totally agree with you ..... I am one that likes natural wood. However, when it's time to paint, its time to paint.❤ everything but the bread box is my favorite.
That bread box would look fabulous in any kitchen, it’s just that good! Its a great color and addition to almost any style kitchen.
That bread box was the winner today, the glass really pops now! You keep painting what/how you need! We are here to learn, we can alter colors if we need to 😉💜

I'm not really a huge fan of green but the way you made that breadbox look is awesome! I bet you already sold it!!!!
Love everything once again - but the breadbox turned out so beautiful!
You are saving old pieces that still can have value from the garbage. Great job.
I love your painting technique. All your items turn out beautifully. I have kitchen cabinets, the color of the breadbox. It's a great color!Thank you for sharing your God-given talent.
Brilliant pairing of the aged paper signs with the ancient frame! And the paint job is perfect with just the right amount of green peeking through.

The green you used on the bread box is my favorite color. So pretty
The black swan was so beautiful.
Green was an old timey color to bring the outside in my grandmother told me that. I think that is why it sells so much for vintage.
I love the swan, I’m from Illinois and never see them at our local Goodwill, I also love the frame, board and rooms.
I had a wooden bread box many years ago. It made my bread taste like wood.
Seeing you is like seeing a dear and very talented friend!!
Love everything you give new life to. They are awesome!
Of course they all came out great. The bread box is a 100 times better now. Love it . Your Swan is beautiful black. I hope you kept it to go with other one you did over. Hugs

I love the bread box, you really got some cracking going on!!
I love that green color. It would match in my kitchen!
I love the bread box. I've had the same problem. No one wants a plain box. Had to pull them all and paint, and they all sold. Tyfs
I've been experimenting with art on some wood figures I'd love to get my hands on the black swan and do Mandala art on that 👍
All beautiful but love the bread box. Love the green color
You always amaze me❤
