- The Gougane Barra pilgrimage is goes from from Drimoleague to Gougane Barra. It is here you will find the Mystical Island Hermitage of St Finbarr. The trek from Drimoleague should take a couple of days but I walked the full St Finbarr pilgrim path in one day. It was a tough climb at the end of the day but one of the best endings I have ever experienced on a long walk !

My girlfriend grew up in Cork and we were just there just last week and I drove up to the Kealkill Stone Circle much to her protest before we went to Gougane Barra. It was my first time there and she has been there many times. It is my favorite place in all of Ireland

Holy heck you must be following me around the top of the rock would be the way we would go to drim on a Sunday for mass from castle donavon which you can see from there that’s my mothers birthplace unbelievable 😅😅 well well kealkil was where my grandfather came from and there was a shortage of women there at that time so off he went over the hill to castle donavon and that my friend is how I am here 😂😂😂
