the thing is : in real it sounds much much better than in 90% of all youtube videos. i just saw one driving on a street, it was totally different from hearing it online. so i think porsche did a good job making this 4 cylinder-sound. but of course 6 cylinder is always better.
Excellent review. Shows the main, relevant features silently and that's it. Perfect. There's many other YoutTube vids that talk the Cayman to death. Unlike the guys in the comment section, I never owned the flat-6, so who cares about sound. Way over-done IMO. Want sound? Buy a motorcycle - It's ear-splitting. Engine's where it should be - in the middle vs. the 911. My car will look exactly like yours: exterior/color/interior/18" Boxster wheels, except mine will have PDK, just the 718 logo above the (AZ not FL) license plate, and has multifunction/heated steering wheel. I ordered the Porsche Entry and Drive along with Navigation, as you did. As for the 18" Boxster wheels as ours have - less stylish perhaps, but less expensive, and a smoother ride is expected. FYI: Porsche just 'threw' a $1,600 base model price increase and a $650+ navigation upcharge at potential buyers 2 days after I bought mine which was 4/23/2018. Mine's being built in Germany to arrive by late Aug.
Great video. What options did you go for when buying this? I'm currently looking on the website but these options are overwhelming. My wife and i bought the 2019 Cayanne and now I'm hooked on Porsches. Thanks!
Hey Mike, this isn't my car. I'm a journalist, so I only had the Cayman to review for the week. If I recall, it had very few options - only the sport suspension and navigation. There are definitely an overwhelming number of options, but my general rule with Porsches is to keep it simple with the build. Hope to have a Cayman of my own someday. Best of luck with the shopping process!
You should start talking a bit in your vids dude. It'd be nice to hear your opinion on the features of the cars and stats and what not. Nonetheless, I like the video man. Keep the car overviews coming!
Thanks man! I figured there's a bunch of other people spouting opinions, it might be nice to just focus on the car. That said, I will be making some videos that show off the coolest features of each car - look for those soon! I will also continue to post full reviews once in a while, and share the ones I do for other channels on my "reviews" playlist. Appreciate you watching!
Am I the only one who thinks this sounds pretty good. Yeah, the old one was better no doubt, but this ain't that bad.
Its much deeper, lower tones. Its definitely not a beautiful screaming flat 6, but not bad 👏🏻

silence is golden. thank you..
This wasn't even silence

thank god for no talking
Is this the normal Cayman the Sound is very nice
Yep! Standard 718 Cayman.
that turbo4 actually sounds pretty good unless u compare it directly side by side with a flat6
beautiful car ! congrats !
Love your video, thank you so much!

Wow the base 18 inch wheels look a lot better than I suspected
0:39 second mark. They are 19 inch wheels.
I notice you have the PASM option. I am on the fence about it, do you like it or would you skip it?
Actually, this one doesn't have PASM. It has the standard Sport/normal mode, but that's for the drivetrain, not the suspension.
MilesPerHr at 4:35 you can see the shock absorber icon button. That’s PASM.
Ah interest. Porsche didn't list that on the build sheet (I'm a journalist, so I was only reviewing the car for a week).
Hi Miles! Great car. These are the 19 inch Cayman S wheels, right?
Is it the standard white, or Carrarawhite?
These are indeed the 19” Cayman S wheels, yes!
Carro dos meus sonhos
I don't understand what the problem is with the sound.. Get a motorcycle if you want a good sounding vehicle.
de oir ese motor se me pone hasta dura, como las frenas con nata, pura delicia xD
It sounds somewhat like a tractor. Sorry.
do tractors not sound good?

Not. There's plenty others with voice.
MilesPerHr did this car feel fast?
Looks fantastic sounds like shit.
4 zylinder im porsche so bad ^^
Sorry friend - 4 cylinder's in everything. 0-60 in 4.7 with PDK and it looks terrific. Want sound? Get a motorcycle.
looks like in 2006 and sounds like in 2100 ^^
