    Soooo old now. I think I’ve had this phone four different times. Bought it, sold it, bought sold, rinse repeat. It just kept disappointing me, despite the gorgeous design. I even had an ocean depths for a while. Just gorgeous. But I sold it for nearly $1000 and have been with an iPhone ever since.
    Undoubtedly your used phone will have more lag versus when they were new. That particular phone really goes to crap once the battery health gets down around 90% or less.
    I applaud your bravery, but at 50 clams it’s really not a big deal. I’d be curious to know if it still works on T-Mobile or Verizon.

      Thank you for your comment! I have had the same experience with it. I think this is my third one I've owned? It's a stunning phone and feels amazing in the hand, but that's about all it has going for it at this point. Even when it was new, I feel like the lag was palpable with touchscreen input.
      Thank you for your comment, I'm glad I'm not alone with the experience I've had with the phone!

      I've had the PH1 since about late 2017 and have been using it ever since. I got it when it dropped to 500 but may have gotten it for less with a deal, so I think it was worth. I never noticed any lag but after the video, I checked and I think it's only noticeable when opening apps for the first time.
      I don't really use my phone much so I don't need incredible performance, but I do like a clean software and hardware experience which makes me love the phone. My main issues with it are that location tracking is broken on mine so maps sucks, no software updates since essential is no more, and my screen broke from a drop so I replaced it and sometimes it registers touches where I'm not touching. Also, the camera isn't great but I don't take many pictures so it's not a big problem for me, and my battery hasn't been great for the last twoish years but I don't use the phone much so it's also not a big problem for me.
      I've used it with AT&T but recently switched to Mint which uses the T-Mobile network so I assume it would work on T-Mobile. I have had some issues with Mint which I had to call to fix but right now it works decently well.
      Recently I have been considering getting a new phone since it's getting pretty old, but it's the perfect phone for me so I'm having trouble giving it up. If there was a new version with an improved camera I would buy it in a heartbeat. The most interesting option rn is the Zenfone 9 which looks very similar. I was really exited about the osom ov1 which would've been it's spiritual successor but it got turned into the solana saga and is going to cost way more now :(.

      @@tx6ch Wow, thank you for sharing your experience with the phone! I'm really impressed that you've stuck it out and used the phone for all this time. That's really remarkable, especially with you using the stock software!
      It's hard to replace the PH-1 because its hardware is so slick and beautiful. I adore the feel of it in the hand; but at some point you do need an upgrade and I think that upgrade will be especially palpable for you. The ZenFone 9 is a beast and I love the size of it.
      The Pixel 7 is an insane deal for the software updates and life it has ahead. But either way; thanks for checking out this vid and sharing your experience with the phone!

    Have you ever gone into the developer settings and reduced the animation duration & those things to see if it helps with the lag/responsiveness issue?

    • @zircoben
      @zircoben  Рік тому +2

      I've played with those settings, it's not just the animations or the software, it's definitely a physical thing with those phones. I've owned several of them and they all have a definite input lag.

    Just bought one for 20 dollars. Running Android 12(Lineage OS) on it. 13 is available but it can use more work before switching to it. Using it on T-Mobile, might use it from time to time besides my 6a.

      @@zircoben I've since had it on Android 13. Runs it well albeit not as smooth as newer phones, still very usable.

    You don't update anything so that's why it's laggy
