I think one of the reasons the ph-1 didn’t sell too well was that initially there were a lot of complaints about the camera’s image quality. They improved it a lot over time, but I think the reputation stuck. I still have mine, replaced it with another phone when Essential went under. Probably should try to get LineageOS on it as it’s definitely one of the most robust phones I own.
I still use my PH1 as a backup and for games... I grabbed it when it first dropped 'Limited' Pure White edition and it came with the 360 camera (Sprint) I think the phone was slept on! It's an all around great device.... Excellent review, keep it up.
Ahhh you lucky bastard! I’ve always wanted a white one. That or the bronze and green one 🤤. Definitely slept on, but they kinda priced themselves into a corner at the time. Still runs beautifully with LineageOS 19.1/Android 12!
The best designed phone ever. Weight and size too. My favorite ever. I am selling it as it needs a battery change and the updates are behind, otherwise I would've kept it. Had white and wife black. I'm too anxious to replace the battery myself, and buying a battery plus having it replaced at the store wouldn't justify the price likely
@@TechnologyNToys I've given the white one to a cousin. Have the black one with the 360 camera, new case, additional screen protector, for sale $175 Canadian.
I just broke mine out and charged it up.. compared to my new Moro edge+ 2022 its laggy and weird holding something so small.. I'm so used to a 6.8 inch OLED screen now
Great video. I still have my White Essential Phone. I still use it from time to time in 2022. My battery still lasts an 8 work day. No scratches... As I use a case and have a screen protector. The camera is fine. I never had any issues with the main sensor and I have gotten some nice pictures with the monochrome lens of historic buildings. You did not mention the Flashing LED message light in the left corner. The blue light is small but it lets me know when new emails arrive.
Ahhhh you lucky bastard! I’ve wanted a white one forever, but can never find one in my price range. And if I’m going to be completely honest, I forget the LED is even there XD. Only see mine when charging, and I typically charge them at night while sleeping. But good catch!
@@TechnologyNToys Thank you. The white phone looks slick. I may still grab a 360 camera because it is the same color as the phone...this phone still turns heads and the build quality is second to none. OSOM (Former Essential employees) was going to produce the OV1 phone which is a bigger version of the Essential Phone. They have now collaborated with a crypto company to make a Blockchain phone.
My all time fav is the green and bronze one, but I have no desire to spend $3500 on the eBay one XD And I heard about the OSOM earlier this year. Kinda got mixed feelings now that it’s a crypto phone and not too enthused with the $1,000 target. Get a 360 cam tho! It’s fun to play with every now and then, and they’re like $12 on Amazon or eBay.
@@TechnologyNToys Will do on that 360 camera. Once again, thank you for the video. Most videos I saw criticized the PH1 just like some of the large tech UA-camrs. Most people blindly follow them and never try phones for themselves. Word of mouth hurt the PH1. Only J. Williams on UA-cam supported the Essential Phone.
What do you think of the Essential Phone?
Just found one today at a 2nd hand electronics store in Japan. Knew I had to grab it. Awesome video! Can’t wait to see your channel evolve!
Nice find! What color is it?
And thanks for the kind words, glad to have you here!
I have one and still use it as my main phone. Just replace is battery last month and very satisfied.
Nice! I should probably swap the batteries on mine at some point lol

How much you looking for on the white one 👀

Ah beans. I've got two blacks.
@@TechnologyNToys I see one white on eBay for $100+$20 shipping.
Yeah. Not really looking to spend 150 on a 6 year old phone that I already have two of. Maybe one day I can snipe a white for ~$50 like my blacks

She definitely feels small after years of massive displays
