Mike, you solved (my) inexplicable question as to why my overflow/catch pan was full of Really Old water (my units up in my attic where I don’t check often enough.) Install plumber put a chicken sh*t (wedged-in) non-mechanical fit to the bottom of the condensate drain, and it leaked profusely over time. Now fixing-up the fitting configuration as per your recommendation... Much thanks for your expertise Mike!!
Mike... I can't thank you enough... Your videos provided ALL of the guidance I needed to install a RUR199in this past weekend. 100% success! Started 9a Saturday and finished 9p Sunday. Because of the detail in your videos, I didn't have a single question. I used Pex-a until I needed to interface with existing copper, at which point I used sharkbite (not my favorite, but I don't have a propress). Thanks again, sir. You rock!
Everyone Mike is the real deal! I took on installing a new RUR199 it was quite the project but with watching all the install videos from mike a few times i was able to install the unit no problem. He makes sense of the stuff i wouldn't otherwise understand such as the different venting. I was also able to give Mike a call and talk to him real quick about installing and picking the right unit for my existing water system. So THANK YOU MIKE! i am loving my new RUR unit!
Mike, I finished my install, thank you very much for all your help , sharing your Knowledge and awesome educational content you share with us. John , Tampa, FL
My RUC98i has been in service for about 6 years. We just had a very cold night in South Carolina and my unit will heat for about 2-3 minutes and then I get a code 25 and the water turns cold. How do I check the condensate trap and drain line for blockage. Everything is properly installed. Is this a simple fix that I can just blow out the trap and drain line? Thanks Jack

Hey Mike, awesome videos you have. Very helpful. Thank you very much. How can I clean the condensate trap? Does it clean when I do the flush or is there something I can put in there to keep it clean? Thanks again.

Hi Mike, in my basement, I have installed 2" PVC exhaust pipe at 1/4" upward slope to exit 14 ' from the unit. How does the RSC199iN route internally the condensation drain water that back flows from the exhaust 2" PVC pipe into the RSC199iN and avoid having corrosion problems in the Rinnai tankless heater?
Thanks for the video! I have a problem on my rinnai condensing water heater. I flushed it today and after doing it, even when heater is not running, there is a steady flow of water from condensing pipe. What to do to fix it. Thanks!

I removed ph filter, removed trap, cleaned out no more code 12?? however every three to four days, depending on usage code 12 pops back up system shuts down and trap is full again. I have two Rinnai units on the outside of my home in North, TX. With the extreme cold we are having, the condensate drain lines froze up on both units. Whoever installed these 5 years ago did the condensate lines with 1/2" pex. My plumber cut the pex to create a temporary bypass for the section that is behind the wall, but wondering if I should consider a more permanent fix. Any suggestions?
You could put 3/4” CPVC piping but there’s no guarantee that won’t freeze. If he cut a vent into it like on my videos you could blow sir or pour anti freeze through it

Mike, I have a CU199i model just installed 8-24-22 and I’m getting a error code 25 which is my condensation pump switch is made. Hi Mike, great videos and thank you for sharing your knowledge. I installed a Rinnai i90 Combi boiler. I need to use a condensation pump. The 2 wires provided in the boiler need to be connected to a condensate pump with normally open terminals. The pump I purchased has normally closed terminals. Can you recommend a pump that is compatible with the i90 boiler? Thanks

My question is, Can I put drain hose on the flush side in addition to the drain or does the condensate tank need some resistance to work properly?

So you stub the condensate outside, what about freeze protection?
There is no way to protect that stub out.
What’s the maximum length of condensate tube can be to discharge the condensation from the tankless water heater? Thank you for all your videos
He mentioned in another comment that the pitch should be 1/8” for every foot length. Not sure if that helps you.
The condensate pump will have a water length it will pump out in feet on it.
Higher the number of feet usually stronger the pump and higher the head lift (water weight).
What will this do to a septic?
