Mike-Looking to upgrade a 75 gal tank water heater to a tankless. Starting to see rust particles on the floor which probably is indicative to a potential problem. Its a 18 year Bradford White unit. I have a 2 PSI Natural Gas meter due to having a whole house standby generator installed. Output of the gas meter has a tee reducer to what appears to be 3/4" on both sides of the tee. One end of the tee goes in the basement (5' away) to a 4 port hookup with 1/2" gas lines. The other end of the tee goes to a regulator and out to the generator. The current water heater is 1/2" gas line. Total line length is less than 15' from the gas meter to the current water heater. On the 4 port we have the current water heater, dryer, stove, and furnace on it. Could we use an adapter to convert the 1/2" line to 3/4" seeing how the length of gas line is so short? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

All of my gas appliances are about 70-ft from the meter. gas to the basement is in 1-inch black steel. I have a furnace and a task heater. I want to add a tankless. I also want to be ready to install a gas range.
I was going to have the gas upgraded to 2psi, but have another thought:
Is there any reason why I couldn't have the meter upgraded and set to 14-inches, then use the 3-inch WC drop table and then re-regulate in the basement using a governor (instead of a regulator) to 8-inch WC and then use the 0.5-inch tables to calculate pipe sizes for the rest of the appliances? MIke, I need help. I have a Rinnai and a two-story home. The issue we're having is when upstairs getting ready for a shower the water starts coming out warm then all of the sudden it gets cold and will not get hot until we turn off the shower faucet. One time i heard a beeping sound from our garage and i looked at the
heater and it showed a code of 12. When i looked up the Code 12 it says its an issue with the flaime or no flame. Can you help and what I should do. Thank you! Nramirez. One more thing, there is no issue when we're downstairs using the sink or other things and getting hot water, only upstairs.

The manufacturer said I need to adjust the ignition needle but would not even send me a photo showing where to look or how to adjust it. Can you give me some guidance on this task? 2 psi in a residential home is basically unheard of in New England. Not sure if Florida is different, natural gas is typically between 5-7" water column after the meter. Typical manifold pressure on a gas appliance is usually 3.5", but different for tankless depending on brand and model, always represented on the tag that shows btu output.
Not sure if he is referring to LP gas installs, that would be 11-14" after the second stage regulator to the appliance. Very uncommon for us to add a regulator before the appliance like this.
