Question.....storm windows. Deep south southern facing home. Direct winter sun but no direct summer sun since the sun is so high.
I'm thinking no low e storm windows. Thoughts?

LowE storm windows can be a great choice for your southern-facing home in the Deep South! They improve energy efficiency by reducing heat loss in winter and blocking UV rays. Since you don’t get direct summer sun, look for LowE coatings with a higher SHGC to take advantage of that winter sunlight for passive heating. If you’re exploring other options, solar screens, window films, or insulated window treatments can help with energy savings too. For a bigger upgrade, modern energy-efficient windows or dynamic glass could be worth considering. Hope that helps!

@@monmouthmillwork It does and I will see if I can get the specs on the storm windows. Although, the direct winter sun is pretty intense. It heats the floor to almost 100F. While I like the idea of LowE that is a lot of direct solar heating that makes it inside of the home. Blocking even a little of that might not be worth it.
We can't do windows because of the local hysterical district.
