The new doordash pay model sucks ass. They are basically ripping off drivers now so they don't have to pay us $5 anymore for delivery fee and now letting the tip cover that. Total rip off. $50 orders which were normal you could get $15 for ($5 delivery fee and $10 tip). You now get $7 for. So the tip is no longer based on the order value like it was before which sucks ass.
Thanks Ezra. I had my first day being a dasher today and it was kinda scary at the end. I accepted an order and when I got close to the customer's location- there was no road, it was pitch black and I felt very unsafe. I did not want to get out of my car and I had a hard time even turning around to get out of there. I needed to cx the delivery. So I struggled through the app to see where I need to report an issue. I looked everywhere to try to find how I can reach the support dept for drivers. In the mean time, the customer is texting and calling me. I replied via text in a professional manner stating I could not deliver his food and that I was in the process of trying to get a hold of the driver support department. HE TRACKED ME ALL THE WAY TO MY HOME! He was texting me saying-I went home and ate his food. He told me the exact street I live on!!!!! I was really scared and it freaked me out. How can I prevent this from happening because I could not cancel the delivery or even log out while the customer was still able to see my location. It took a while to get someone on the chat to help me cancel so he could stop watching where I was going. Can you please send me some advice on this?

For doordash In OC I'm pretty positive the customer CAN track the driver. I've received email saying they made that update a couple months ago and several times as soon as I pull up, here comes the customer out the front door. But Doordash likes to roll those sort of changes out slowly and only to certain areas.

Thanks, Daniel! Yes, I was confused because I thought we could be tracked but on this order, I couldn't see the driver's location. Maybe because I ordered from a place only about 1/2 mile away? I'll try ordering again and make another video!
RG...overall it was a good video but I was really hoping that you completed the customer experience by showing the steps the customer goes through to rate the driver. Does the app prompt the customer? When does the customer get the opportunity to rate the service?
Hey Terry, thank you for the feedback! So after the order was delivered, there was an order review/rating screen displayed in my app. There was some bug or something and it would not let me click the number of stars I wanted to rate the driver. So I had to go to my email receipt and rate from there. I'll do another order soon and hopefully that issue will be fixed so I can show you the rating part of the process!
As a customer I like the tracking feature on Postmates for example haha. Don't think I've used Door Dash here I'll have to use your code man.Thanks!

Uber, Lyft, Postmates gives customers a real-time tracking map & icon of driver moving on the map. Lol do not be surprise if it comes to Doordash in the future cause it probably will.
The new doordash payment system just went live in LA. We can't see the order totals anymore...and the tips are A LOT lower than before...What should we do Rideshare Genius?, we need ya in these dire times.
NO WAY you can still see the totals but you are right. The new pay model sucks ass. They are ripping drivers off and keeping more money for doordash.
Have you checked it recently? I did another dash today, and same issue. We can see the number of items ordered, and where it's going. But the order $ total is hidden until you accept the order.
NO WAY that part is true. I just thought you meant that you couldn't see it at all but you can't see it and you're right only after You accept. The order. By the way it's a total rip off now I'm getting $70 orders and making nine dollars
Yeah. I've gotten two $100+ orders and got paid $11 for each. One of the customers I've delivered to is a regular, who is a generous tipper. I've delivered to him about 4 times and each time he's tipped me 20%+. This is ridiculous. They are blatantly adjusting our delivery amount based on our tips. I never expected to be treated well from DoorDash but this is straight robbery.
NO WAY I totally agree I had $100 order today and I made nine dollars. Total rip off and a scam. they just keep more money for them self. It's their way out of not paying for delivery fees just giving us a Tips now
Great vid as always RG...it seems like the majority of trips now pay $8-$9 per delivery, no matter the total order amount or distance. Definitely like the simpler, more lucrative model better. Thanks for sharing

Yeah, I think their app went down in spectacular fashion
I trued signing up with DoorDash and even went to the meeting. When he app got setup it had some type of errors I contacted them and after tons of emails still wasnt able to get it fixed.

Rideshare Genius ios the newest. Whenever i ty to schedule a shift it says none are loaded
I had problems trying to sign up as well. Save your time emailing, you'll only get frustrated with the run around. You're better off going to a local office and getting it fixed there. In my case the app had locked me out on their end not allowing the full process to be downloaded. So go to the office to have them fix it there.

This new payment structure is a total rip off and has to be illegal I just worked 1 5 hours this evening, all I got were huge orders but made just $33. 56, before this new payment structure I would have made like $100 I feel like doordash just robbed me at gunpoint, what do you advise?
Yeah, I guarantee that the driver did NOT get that $10.00 tip PLUS whatever they agreed to pay said driver? They've gotten GREEDY!
I agree that DD's payment structure is not great for drivers, but I've never seen evidence that tips were not passed to the driver in full. That would put their business in jeopardy
I am a relatively new driver and got schooled before starting the best that I could. I always double check and document after a client tells me they gave me a tip. It's just a shame that it doesn't get put on the drivers account in detail. I really appreciate your videos. Thanks@@RideshareGenius

I think Door Dash is going down hill quickly. They will be rolling out a new payout system in the next couple months. I've heard nothing but bad things about it. There is a common belief now that Door Dash is taking the tips away from Dashers. It sounds like CA is still on the old pay system. You should do a video covering this if you get switched over.

Thanks, Shane. They just launched the new pay system here and I haven't driven with it yet. I do agree that the company seems to lack direction or leadership right now. They seem to be throwing money away in all the wrong places and alienating drivers. If that continues, they won't last long
So it went live here in my market this week. Based on on the 3 deliveries I took tonight, I averaged about the same as before. However, this is day 1 lol. They state in the app that "Customers provide tips and you always receive 100% of the amount". It sounds like they are actually just fluctuating your base pay. So if you bank on a tip, don't expect DD to give you anything. I guess that is legal but unfortunate. Like you said, follow the money. I did that for my last delivery which was over 10 miles but stated "you will earn $9.64 plus tips". When I finished my shift, the total for that delivery was $9.64. So, the whole "plus tips" statement was probably dishonest. Again, transparency issues. One positive thing I can say about all this is that we can follow the money a little better now....regardless of the DD's ethics.
