Believe it or not I've been a LPN for almost 5 years now and Idk if its because I've been exposed to a lot but the RN program I'm in isn't much diffrent then the LPN program. I literally use my notes from my LPN program to help me through some of my test material for my RN associate test bc the teacher is not all that great in med surg. Only diffrence so far is that RN price tag. I paid 15,000 for my lpn and now paying 32,000 for my RN. I wish I would have just went straight to RN school and skipped lpn but can't cry over spoiled milk. It is what it is.

    • @kiearacelina

Ashley Lynn Well that’s a good thing, that means you shouldn’t have a problem passing nclex and stuff and I would’ve liked to go straight for my RN too but as mentioned before, in Canada we don’t have the ADN program, we only have the lpn and the bsn and I think they’re quite different so personally, I’m happy I did the lpn first, because at least I have some experience and knowledge and I think it should be easier for me to do my bsn compared to someone who’s goi f straight I to that program with no experience.

I saw the video and i am amazed that you got lpn and working as lpn as well trying to completing requirements for advanced entry nursing. Its very achievement and success.
I am 24 yr, i am trying to finish the admissioned requirement for nursing bsn but then at same time i dont want to wait to get accepted has they required for gpa higher. Another problem is that i have family financial issue and i dont know if i should take lpn program. I also searched up lpn bridging to rn and hoping for a review from others but there weren't review except on website saying take 2 to 4 years to be accepted.
Please let me know how long does it take to get in advanced entry in bsn and what gpa do they need to be accepted for bridging program.

Georgia’s bridge programs are terrible. So, math and science prereqs expire after 5 years. If you want to bridge and they’re almost expired, you have to retake them. That’s one to two semesters worth of classes. Then, you have to take the TEAS again and apply to the bridge program because it’s competitive like normal nursing school. So far, the only bridge options I’ve come across is LPN to ASN. Once you get your ASN you have to apply to a BSN program. They make it almost impossible, time consuming, frustrating, and extremely stressful. I just completed my LPN. I’m required to get a year experience before bridging… I would have gone straight to RN but my school didn’t have that program at the time. I ended up at two other colleges and found myself in a pool of core classes, which made me decide to go back to my first school and finish the LPN. It is what it is though. I WILL be an RN lol

Hey! Yep, only difference is pct) patient care tech is trained on the job & no state exam required. Cna/Certified nurse assistant, state exam required for the "C" in CNA. Depending on where you work, the skills vary. May be more @ hospitals/home health, less @ nursing homes/rehab facilities.

Reid Barber to be honest, I’ve only looked into 3 schools and all of them are quite similar except the Athabasca University one that requires no pre reqs except for 1 year of nursing experience but as mentioned in the video, it’s extremely expensive for an online program and I don’t think it’s worth it considering the fact that you can go to much better schools with way better reputations for cheaper and on campus but you just gotta put in a little more work.

It depends on you, your goals, your plans and what works for you. Going the Lpn route will
1: allow you to get in the field and find stability fast
2: it will allo you to make good money so that when you’re doing your bsn, you can work less hours and focus on your school without compromising your income or working a full time job while being a student
3: With an Lpn you can work as an independent contractor with agencies, have pretty guaranteed hours because there’s a need everywhere + you’ll be making more money than you would in facilities because agency nurses make more (my job pays me 30$/hour and I make 41.75$/hour working agency) + you can pretty much accept or decline shifts and work when you want so if a big exam is coming up, you can focus on studying without being afraid to get fired
4: It will give you valuable experience that may not necessarily make your bsn journey easy, but definitely easier than those with no experience because you would have been exposed to a lot of things already (machines, skills,meds,documents...)
Personally, I chose the LPN route because I was tired of being broke but always knew I would go for my bsn. I start back school in 2 weeks to continue on with my nursing education and I have a lot of money saved up, stability and pretty much everything I need to go through school stress free which is what I wanted to make sure I had for univeristy because I know it’s no joke.

Hi, I am from Nepal, my daughter has just finished her PCL nursing course."Proficiency Certificate Level in Nursing”. In simple words, PCL nursing is equivalent to a diploma course where student learn the practicalities of Nursing. She would like to study further in Ontario province. So, is she eligible to study bachelor in nursing or still bigin with LPN again. Would be so kind of you to have your kind information.
