Oh boy! It's been too long! (lol) I missed my "Jew in the City" episodes!!!
I'm so glad you're back! Keep preaching the truth! You are such a blessing to so many women out there!

I'm very sorry for whatever you're going through. I'm sure it's tremendously difficult. This was not meant as a way to give people financial tips - there are plenty of places that specialize in that. For some people, though, clinging to their faith during challenging times - whether the challenge is sickness, death, financial hardships, etc. - brings comfort to them.

I really appreciate how much thought and preparation you put into each video.
Definitely an example of quality over quantity.

Thanks! Glad you like! I believe that Jesus was a Jewish rabbi, but not the messiah or the son of God. There are certain criteria that must be met, according to the Bible, for us to know when the messiah has arrived. There have been many people throughout Jewish history who claimed to be the messiah - Bar Kochva, Jesus, Shabatai Tzvi - the Jewish approach is that none of these men were actually the messiah because they didn't bring about world peace and a universal recognition of God..

This video is an excellent reminder to all of us to keep things in perspective. We are not the sum of our possessions.

First of all, that's sounding a little "Elders of Zion-esque." Why are there so many well to do Jews? Because Jews work hard and are very big into education and that combination usually leads to financial success. There is no sin in having money. Nearly everything in the world can be used for good or bad. So if someone is blessed with wealth, he should give lots of charity and find ways to use the nice things he has to help others (like having a large, beautiful home filled with guests.)

Excellent message and nicely tied to an aspect of the Passover.

When I was young I asked my father where the whole Jews and Money thing came from.
At one time money was considered "dirty" and being a merchant was considered lower class.
The other ways to success, being barred to them, their talents were bent towards these paths. And since they were a people apart, it was in their best interests to make their friends prosper. The 1st "secret" is that all honest work is honorable, and potentially profitable. The 2nd is that mutual aid benefits all involved.

I grew up in the frum community(modern ortho),this is one of the most valuable communities in our world, for the practice, models and beliefs of it. I experienced different communities by now and Ive come back to kashrut and Shabbat and the strength of our families.
Though it turned out that I am a gay person Im trying to have children and to raise them in the model of torah learning and yiras shamayim (im not kidding about this)
These vids are some of the best on youtube

This is actually a Jewish idea - the messiah will come when our actions, collectively, merit messianic times. I very much like the idea that the possibility is in our hands.

As a Christian I find your videos fascinating. It's sad that many people make judgements about people of other faiths without ever attempting to find out what they actually believe. Your videos give a fascinating insight into Judaism. And on the subject of bread it came to mind that Jesus said "...It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." Being Jewish he knew his scriptures. I'd love to know what your thoughts are on Jesus?

For a young person, you have much wisdom. I did not like the name, "Jew in the City," but the content of your videos belies what perhaps the name connotes. Blessings to you.

I agree with you Jewinthecity, life is NOT defined by your possessions on Earth but your possessions in Heaven... as the Bible says "For Where Your Treasure Is, There Your Heart Will Be Also". Dont let your possessions own you!

I don't think a single man can bring world peace, because the key to peace is inside us, not outside. We must first make peace with ourselves, before we can expect the world to be at peace.

I would love to know your opinion about Islam.
Muslims believe in the Prophet hood of King David, Moses, and Solomon. Quran has some very interesting stories of these prophets in detail, muslims eat Kosher food, they do circumcision, they believe that a messiah would come to restore world peace, they don't believe that Jesus was the son of God and regard him as a messenger. There are a surprising parallels.

That's "free" as in not tied down to anything external - not "free" in terms of cost.
And in terms of the high price, other than the seders, I'm a fan of machine made - tastier and cheaper!
