Fire TV Stick - How to Cleanup your Downloads Folder

- You might find that some Apps may not cleanup after themselves when you have download the App or after the App has updated and leave the installer in the Downloads folder which can use up quite a lot of space. This video guide shows you how to delete these unwanted installers.

Thank you so much! I kept losing storage space after I downloaded and deleted apps and couldn’t figure out why, now I know. When you delete an app you don’t get rid of everything.

thank you for showing us this. what i also did was delete unnecessary app such as amazon shop, amazon photos because i dont use them on the fire tv stick. i did this by pressing and holding the select button on the highlighted app.

Fantastic! 👍 Can you answer a question please? Underneath the APK's there are files called download_sub_file.srt, morpheus_subtitle.srt, subdataplayer.srt, etc. Can I delete these? Are they where I've put subtitles on? Thanks
These files ending in srt are subtitle files they can be deleted.

I have one file in my photos not sure what it is .. not sure if I should delete it. Is there a way to see what it is before I delete. Thank you 😊. I also sometimes get error cannot open file/folder download .. is this normal
What is the file in My Photos called and how big is it, if you are getting error then its probably telling you that the file should not be deleted.
@@cwtek1 sorry …what I meant is everytime I go to check the downloaded files folder it tells me error cannot open file/folder Download… I was able to open it once now it gives me error all the time……this does not show in my photo file I can open that………. The photo file not sure how big it is it doesn’t say … it does not have a name it says. .7aceb44fe1c25a.cfg Thank you so much for responding 😊. I’ve deleted the app multiple times and that error is still there. I noticed that when I first open the app it does not ask me to allow to access files, photos etc….,
@@lynnnakita58 You could try restarting the device and see if it will let you open the download folder, I would perhaps leave the cfg file incase it’s important.

Only if you clear the data of the app, removing apks will not affect it.
So if I removed a update that had just been installed will my app remain as it was or will it be as if it never existed?

Only if that partition is formatted to FAT32.

@@koniconga if it's cinema this is just streamed usually and not downloaded,.so probably not taking up any space on the Firestick.

Just press left on the controller and it ticks the file, than press the bin at the bottom to delete them all
