*** WARNING **** if you reset your firestick back to factory like i did get ready for downloader to stop being able to install apk's and other items to stop working,one of amazons new updates is to remove permissions and there is no way to get them back i spent a whole day in chat with amazon and was told so sad to bad no can help. time to scrap the firestick for something else.

My Firestick automatically tries to flush DNS monthly. The problem is, this process NEVER completes! My only solution is to unplug it, take it to my friend's house, plug it into THEIR telly (where it works immediately), then bring it home. Then 4 weeks (ish) later, it happens again. This issue started after I changed ISP but they reckon it's nothing to do with them! DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION??? Thank you!!!
Hi, what really confuses me is when someone says "cut the cord"? You can never really cut the cord because you always need internet which costs big bucks then you add a streaming service & basically you are back to square one still paying about $150 a month. Where are the savings ? It is all frustrating. I've listened to some of your UA-cam & you explain real good but there is still nothing that is cost effective. Oh and your local or state library system may have great free movies etc. they stream. They usually all belong to some sort of network for lending digital media.
What exactly are you trying to get. It's not even debatable that streaming is much cheaper for most people since you only have to deal with what you actually watch vs a ton of crap you don't yet still pay for with cable. You also have a crap ton of free options. If all you've done is sit there and look at defaults and haven't done any research then you're missing out due to it. I don't pay anywhere NEAR cable prices or $150 bucks. Not to mention, why are you bringing in internet or literally cutting cords? If you have a TV then there's a cord attached. People are talking figuratively. I am very curious what you're talking about having to spend $150 on? Be specific about what you actually want to watch instead of vague, because I know for a fact it's cheaper than cable and internet is dumb to complain over as that's a requirement period whether you have cable or not anyhow.
Cut the cord.....normally refers to going strictly to local "over the air" TV. That is.....hooking an actual antenna to your tv. If you live in a city, near the actualy transmitter sites....a cheapo antenna may work. Past that....then you'll probably need a good quality outside, name brand antenna, to get multiple stations. Basically, just like tv was before cable and satellite came into service.
Not a huge fan. I hate the cluttered interface just trying to get to the stuff I want to watch and the worst is when the device resets or updates and I have to enter EVERYTHING all over again. Never had that issue with a Roku or Chromecast.

I think you need to activate developer mode on your fire stick to be able to download 3rd party apps
When on trying to improve my picture on my stick reduced the picture , how do I restore to normal Iam 80yr so not to hot on tec, hope you can help.
