I saw him and Burt Ward at a conversation in 2013. The thing that impressed me was how he went out of his way to include Ward during the Q&A. Every question was directed at West, but whenever he could he would say "well, Burt actually knew more about that" or "oh, Burt has a great story about some extras on set". I forgot all about Wes from Don't Starve in the original list. Wes lost his vocal cords in a fire, not because he chooses to do so. He just made the best out of a shitty situation. The thing about Wes is even though he sucks at, well, everything, he excels at keeping the sanity of his teammates up.
He can also provide a speed boost and make players able to swim right from the beginning of the game and protect them from lightning in a pinch. A niche utility but it's still something.
I remember when I was young and unlocked Jogurt, I kept trying to use him in combat. I kept thinking, "There HAS to be something I'm missing." Maybe there's some weird synergy that the ring can do? Maybe he is leveling up, and I won't know until I can promote him to an actual job? Maybe promoting him from YGRT to YGRT at the right time did something? They wouldn't just make him absolutely useless, right? Well, I was wrong, and they did.
Similar to what I thought with Unown in Pokemon. "Oh he must learn another powerful move at a higher level." I wasted so much time trying to level up unown.
Yep, although I don't think I used the method outlined in the video to recruit him. I'm pretty sure that if you run away from a battle in that chapter you can just find him standing around.
the sad part is, other games actually do what you were thinking with some characters. For example, there's a blitzball character in final fantasy X-2 that gains virtually no stats until level X and then becomes one of the strongest players in the game by how much they gain
@@Gatorade69 as a kid I met someone who had an entire team of Unknown at level 100. They never told me why (their name probably spelled something and I didn't notice)
Faramir from "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King." When you unlocked him he had a nearly identical move set to Aaragorn but with less damage per sword swing.
@@alejandronieto4212 sure but Aaragorn was already outclassed in melee by both Legolas and Gandalf. No matter which level you were on, there wasn't much reason to use him for anything other than the xp grind. So when you beat the game and unlock Faramir... why would you?
@@silas6328 Aragorn wasnt outclased in melee by legolas and gandalf. I mean sure, one had more speed and the other had amazing combos, but fully buffed aragorn was the highest basic attack in the game (we're talking Return of the King, right?) to the point of reliably 1-2 hoy killing most enemies. The only things holding him down were his strong attack, wich was kinda lame, and his archer skills, where he was subpar. Faramir wasnt as strong in melee as aragorn, but was pretty competent in general, and arguably better than aragorn in ranged fights, making him a reliable team mate, specially in places like pelennor, southern gate, walls of minas tirith or isengard

One thing to note about unlocking the Lost in The Binding of Isaac, in the current version of the game, Repentance, the Lost is unlocked by killing yourself in a sacrifice room while holding the Missing Poster. The method you covered is how it's unlocked in Afterbirth+ and earlier. To remedy that, let me talk about a character that's STILL absolutely stupid to unlock: The Forgotten. To unlock the Forgotten, you must have first beaten the boss "The Lamb" which is no small feat. After that, first you have to beat the first floor's boss in under a minute. You will hear Isaac's mom call his name. Go to the first room of the floor. There will be a silhouette of a shovel. Use a bomb anywhere in the room, this will spawn the "Broken Shovel." Picking up Broken Shovel will cause Mom's Foot to continuously try to stomp you. Using Broken Shovel will stop the stomping for the current room. You MUST keep Broken Shovel. You cannot pick up any other active items for the duration of the run, save for Book of Virtues. Now that you have Broken Shovel, you must complete Boss Rush. To do this, beat Mom in under 20 minutes. Boss Rush is 15 waves of two bosses each with no breaks. It is VERY difficult. You MUST hold Broken Shovel the whole time. Once Boss Rush is completed, the second piece of the Broken Shovel will spawn, and picking it up will give you "Mom's Shovel." Now you must continue the run and make it to Dark Room with Mom's Shovel. Somewhere in Dark Room, there will be a grave room with a patch of dirt in the center. Using Mom's Shovel on the patch of dirt will unlock the Forgotten. Edit: I forgot to mention what he does, I put it in the replies
@@SapphireDragon357 whoops I forgot to mention that lol, he has a fun mechanic but for what it is it's not worth it imo. He has a melee attack and can go into a spirit form that shoots normal tears. 6:28 Enemies in FFT are scaled to your level. Cloud being level 1 is awesome because you can level up his jobs really quickly while keeping him a low level.
I believe it’s either party’s average LV or your highest LV character. Even if you leave out all the high LV characters from a fight the enemies will still be around their LV. That’s how it is in WotL anyways. Been a while since I played the original so it might be like that in the OG
Cloud is still a little better than Malak, from what I remember. His unique attacks would strike random squares within oddly shaped areas, so if you were not careful you could hit your own party. They also did more damage to those with low faith, which I seem to remember being rare enough that getting a group of low faith enemies in the right configuration was challenging enough to not bother. Top that off with the limit to your total number of characters, he usually got kicked off even the back bench.
My mom's a huge fan of both FF7 and Tactics, so she's told me about the Cloud problem. She says he also can't use any weapons well except the rare Materia Sword. I've always assumed this was an Easter egg implying this is where he went when he went missing in the Life Stream, and being from a different time he doesn't actually know how to use any of the skills or stuff expected of him in Tactics
he can use other classes but he can only use his soldier skills while wielding his "knight sword" the materia blade. It might have even been that he could only use them while in the soldier class as well (don't remember).
They don't even mention the fact that even if you level him up, Cloud ends up being pretty useless in the end. The Materia Blade is far weaker than weapons your other party members can unlock and his Limit skills are charged instead of instant so it carries the same issues all the charged abilities do. Honestly you get far more use out of the other party members you unlock trying to unlock Cloud than you do out of Cloud himself. Unlocking Cloud seems more like for the nostalgia points than anything.
@@immortalfrieza He's definitely not useless, just overshadowed by all the other special characters. I didn't care though, I gave him short charge from the time mage moveset and let him do his thing. Honestly I always felt like the majority of the special characters in FFT weren't anywhere near as strong as my normal characters. There are literally some story battles that you can just one shot with a calculator, like one of the fights with Malak. TG Cid may be great, but he can't take down 50-100% of all of the enemies scattered across a large map instantly. You could make all the special characters powerhouses one way or another, but like.... I already have my max brave monk and my calculator, soooooo Cloud has the same use that all the other special characters do.... He's just fun to play around with if you know what skills/stats supplement his unique set (like he benefits more from Magic stats that attack stats, so his sword being weak physically is not a detriment to his skills)
@@Uberphish the free hit almost makes him broken. It’s pretty rare to get hit a second time in a room on an early chapter when you can fly. And that gives you time to build up a good arsenal
He was a really fun cameo in Lego Batman. Honestly he was probably closet thing DC had to an Stan lee like personality to cameo in these games, which he does the full narration for the 1960s Batman stage. I'm glad both Stan and Adam got to be immortalized in this games for players to enjoy long after they are gone.
There’s more about Cloud in FFT After you get him, you still need to find his weapon “Materia Blade” if you want to use his Soldier skills, which means his job is useless if you give him a better weapon and stuff like that, not to mention how long the charge times are
Yep top of mount bervenia needing bs treasure hunter with high jump (4 though germinas boots are good insurance) that chocobo mounting and other movement abilities block. Not as bad as nelveska temple columns to climb worker 8/dragon Reis for escutcheon II/javelin II which could be the worse originals with bad luck. Some postgame with equip swords time mage gravity (4 shot lucavi)/swiftness (unlocked at start) or geomancer (4 move is a big deal let alone can use postgame shields and other equipment) may help.
@Angelalex242 equip swords ninja is quicker too, with a runeblade in the other hand to buff the attack limit magick and soldier's bad 3 move speed/magick atk. I swear ninjas salvage anything; even showcased a dancer being playable first turn due to ninja speed when she is too slow otherwise 🤣 as everyone else will have 3 turns by the time one damage/debuff dance goes off if they go first (since the bard buffs allies, they can afford to be a bit slower so long as the rest of the party benefits from a random buff though nameless/last are unplayable with low speed and lower success rates). You can even throw flameburst bombs to heal allies with flame shields (though throw isn't boosted by elements like putting on japa Mala or a black robe since it's speed based damage, and snowmelt is water and incompatible with ice shield, though it will easily kill bomb monsters due to weakness).
@MrVariant downside to equip swords is that he must be SOLDIER to equip a ribbon as a man. And if you're gonna use Cloud at all you don't wanna pass the ribbon up
@Angelalex242 why bother with a ribbon? Most human enemies don't debuff outside Elmdor/Zalbaag (vampire) or mystics, and the monsters that do can easily be tamed by Reis with said equip swords or healed with choco esuna that allows for more movement if you waste a turn chocobo mounting. Let alone you lose the thief's caps speed +2 bonus, while it still has immunity to don't act/Move. You're also generally one shotting with her, Cloud's finishing touch that could easily use a geomancer, Orlandeau/Balthier/Arithmeticks, so they probably won't get a turn. Even beowulf can instantly turn a bravery 60 or less enemy into a chicken 🐔

I had the Shining Force game as a kid and was convinced there was some greater purpose to Jogurt. I kept hoping he'd somehow transform into a better character. This was before you could easily look things up online. Damn you Jogurt!!! :D
I was about to say this video is wrong and that he becomes a beast later once he levels up and gets EXP, because he always takes 1 damage no matter what... but that was the unlockable jellyfish from SF2.
What's worse?: -Unlocking a totally useless weapon/armor/character after too much effort *or* -Unlocking a way overpowered weapon/armor/character after way, way, way too much effort and you only get it after there's nothing left to use all that power on. I honestly feel like the latter is worse.
If I can't get that overpowered thing in new game+ or the challenges and its no longer overpowered in those situations then yes the latter will always be worse.
"Here's the Doomotron 85k, with boss seeking laser bullets that turn every hostile into candy that actually makes you LOSE weight. "Shoot it at this stationary tree once so we can watch the credits."
There’s something else worth noting about the Lost: there’s an even harder version. In the Repentance DLC, every character has a Tainted version, unlocked by doing specific tasks in the alternate floors, completing the ascension sequence, and having either the Red Key or a Red Key fragment on you to gain access to a room that contains your current character’s Tainted version. Now, as you mentioned, the Lost has no HP. However, the Lost also gets a starting item that makes him a bit easier: Holy Mantle. It’s a barrier that absorbs one hit per room. It’s still challenging, but it gives you some room for error. Tainted Lost, on the other hand? Well, first up, Tainted Lost will always find better items than other characters, that’s the upside to him. The downside is: he only starts with a Holy Card, a consumable item which can give you one Holy Mantle shield. Once you’ve lost that shield, the only way to get it back is to find another Holy Card (and also, i am like 75% sure that Tainted Lost cannot find Holy Mantle), making him way, way harder than regular Lost
The good news about The Lost is that the difficult unlock can now be bypassed in Afterbirth/Afterbirth+/Repentance. And you can unlock an item that allows one hit a room. He's actually a great character now. As opposed to 'Tainted Lost' or Pre-Repentance Keeper...
@@desfefe he rly isn't tho. He's got very high dmg, gets better items and still has flight and spectral to start with. If anything he's the ultimate glass cannon. And not poorly designed garbage with nothing to make up for it like t keeper.
Adam West was a National Treasure. I absolutely love that he always made everyone smile and laugh with his performances. You are sorely missed. (RIP to Stan Lee as well❤️)
I would've loved to see Adam West in some sort of buddy action-comedy movie with the guy I consider to be his British counterpart, Roger Moore. Ah, what could've been, if only I ran Hollywood.
How about Elijah Price from Road Redemption? You unlock him by beating campaign+ mode with 10 characters, meaning he'll most likely be the last character you unlock. He'll most likely die in one hit, doesn't gain any of the benefits from the skill tree... and that's about it. In fact, one of the bullet points on his list of "abilities" just says "Good luck".
I love Ellen's hilariously terrible and/or terribly hilarious jokes, they honestly make my day. Love the channel everyone, you all do such an amazing job 👏👏✌️😁👍
I’d say Gold Mario in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Yay, another reskin of an already-existing character… And he’s a *reskin of a reskin* if that makes sense. He’s a reskin of Metal Mario, who is a reskin of Mario. Bruh.
Same. I remember not being able to put it down. As a child, I remember trying to hide from my parents TO AVOID TRICK OR TREATING ON HALLOWEEN so I could play it more. And I LOVED candy.
funny thing, in Final Fantasy Tactics mentioned in this video, "mimes" are the strongest class in the game for their unique ability to duplicate ANY action an ally performs except for movement. That's ANY action and all mimes on the field will mimic it
There's probably a lot of Fire Emblem characters that would fit in this list. Best I can recall is Karla in Fire Emblem 7. You can only get her in Hector mode, you need to use a character you'd normally never use and level it up significantly. You then need to get draw against said character in an arena. Since you only get a limited amount of turns in said map and since the arena is the only way to get your characters some hard needed xp on that level, you'd need to sacrifice all of that as well. Then, you need to get a draw against Karla in the arena; winning means you only get a bit of exp and kill Karla. If you lose, you don't get Karla and even lose the character you painstakingly leveled. Karla is decent to mediocre and definately underleveled. Since you don't get many chances to level said character anymore, having her become useful in the toughest battles is difficult at best.
Karla and Renault are pretty horrendous for being such latecomers. Still, Karla probably edges out Renault for being Hector-only and somehow knowing you need to both get Barte to level 5 Warrior and bring him along on that mission. Also, he has to survive but giving him an Iron Rune makes that trivial. He also needs to not kill Karla but just have him equip a bow to not counterattack. There's also Karel, who's inferior to Harken in every way despite being harder to recruit. He's Karla's brother, so it must run in the family...
Unlocking Gangrel in the Awakening DLC was a pain I remember. I think you need to speak to him 3 times with Chrom, but he’ll attack you each time on his turn. However, though you can just remove any weapons to stop him dying on a counter attack, he’s surrounded by other enemies who can then attack you with impunity. And I don’t think he’ll only target Chrom. All for an ok character who’s the despicable villain of the first half of the game. Did I mention this mission unlocks at the very end of the game?
For a more recent example. The three unlockable post game characters in fire emblem three hopes are a massive disappointment. (Since the game is still fairly new I'll leave out names to avoid spoilers for those who care.) Not because they're bad (they're actually quite op) but because there's almost no content you can use them in, even with new game plus they're limited to record battles only and they don't add any supports. Also you need to grind like crazy to change their classes because they can't use the training grounds or any facilities for that matter. Also their clothes don't even change upon reclassing. They were handled with no care at all. Also they cost a lot of renown so you probably won't be able to get all three in your first run. Edit: There is one other unlockable who is a bit better as he has access to story battles and facilities but he starts at level 1 with no skills and you have to beat the game twice to get him. He joins early on your third run.
Not to mention you also have to find Cloud's materia blade or whatever exactly it was called in order to use his special abilities. And it wasn't exactly a powerful weapon, on top of his skills having very long charge times even with the one time mage ability.
I always remember Cloud’s Materia Blade is on top of the volcano. Also had Cloud’s secondary ability as Monk so he had the Chakra, Revive, and Earth Slash. 👍🏻
Well Jogurt has no downside to being recruited in Shining Force, as like you have limited slots for chaarcters(unlike FFT tactics where you only get 16 slots.). Not like you have to use him in combat, and he gives you 4 more inventory slots to hold stuff which you have limited inventory. He's basically a pack mule for the team. He's typically holding potions till I promote my team and use all the stat raising potions.
@@Lastjustice That's true. He's basically a field medic with high move so he can get to people more easily. You can also use him to get unguarded chests and stuff.
Cloud honestly had the set up to be the most powerful character in the game because of what had to be done just to get him. - have to have done every sidequest to get/unlock all of the other secret/special characters just to trigger his event. - even then you have to be past a certain part of the game so you can actually do the battle for him. - needs a *very* specific sword which wouldn't be so bad if it actually was good, but by the time you get him you have equipment roughly twice as strong, arguably triple taking into account whom uses said equipment. - his skills have a charge time, some skills having niche use but what they do can absolutely be useful. -Problem is, they are fairly slow, need an ability to be decently quick and (here's the worst part) they target panels, not the target. So if you try using an ability on an enemy and said enemy moves just a few panels away, that's it. It won't hit. Anddd on top of that, his limits use his magic stat for damage. Like why, dude does not have a good magic stat if I recall so even if you were to land his limits it won't be doing much damage. He was clearly a very last minute add on. There's no way much effort was put into him with all this going against him.
That hasn't been how you unlock The Lost in years. It's now "beat The Lamb as Isaac to unlock the Missing Poster, get the Missing Poster and die in a Sacrifice Room while holding it".
Outside Xbox played this game as well, but I'd like to refer/remind them of Death Road to Canada; Kepa mode. Kepa mode is unlocked if you manage to beat increasingly difficult modes. Getting your party to Canada in regular mode is challenging enough, but the required modes increase the number of zombies, the difficulty of events and locations. If you manage to beat all those modes, you unlock Kepa mode. In Kepa mode, you get character Kepa (the game developer) who has terrible stats and dies in 1 hit. On top of that, the difficulty is increased further in Kepa mode and you ONLY get the achievement of beating Kepa mode properly if you manage to get Kepa to Canada alive.
You don't do the Cloud sidequests in Tactics for Cloud himself, you do it for Beowulf and Reis (and Worker 8). They're all gotten along the way after starting it.
The Matchstick Men in Resident Evil Outbreak. Considering they require you to collect every single special item in the game, which requires completing every scenario multiple tomes, as each character on each difficulty, and what you get is brightly coloured stick men, with dreadful stats, some with painfully slow movement speed and even starting the round in the Danger state.
wait a minute, at 7:03 that isn't rebirth, that's the original flash version of Binding of Issac! Don't think I don't see you being cheeky there outside Xbox!
Cloud with short charge and finishing touch is actually pretty potent one of the best status attacks in the game. And hes the only male that can equip some female exclusive gear a call back to ff7
Cloud Strife is one of the most powerful recruitable characters in FFT. Yes you have to level him up from 1 and his skills seem weak and need a unique weak sword to use them. What most people miss is that his skills scale with MAGIC attack, not physical. His skills cost no mp and has a charge time so he plays kinda like an archer. It isn't hard for him to hit max damage.
Whoever voted for Cloud in FFT...good job. But OX didn't even talk about how you had to find the Materia Blade so he can use his power, which has to take a few turns of charging to activate.
Base Cloud with Finishing Touch and no other abilities is able to 1-shot enemies even when Cloud is lv1 and they are lv99. It is certain to inflict Stop, Petrify, or Death... on at max 5 enemies if I remember right.
I really feel like Oxbox has gone through the "become a hero" phase and is getting into the "last long enough to become a villain" part of the plan. The villainy I speak of is of course the chaotic energy of Andy's tortured similes and crippling Milky Way addiction and I am absolutely on board!
From what I remember you can also find the Yoghurt Ring in the game Time Stalkers where upon equipping it you turn into Yoghurt aswell. (And you gain a massive power boost)
The only thing I remember about SSX is never being able to play the original because some kind of harmonics to the snowboarding FX sent my dog absolutely barmy every time I tried... She had no response to me hadoken-ing, shooting, screaming, exploding or even causing other animal noises but 1 second of sliding down a hill on a board and FRENZY!
Also while he does require a fair amount of work, he more than earns his place on the final line up for beating the game. His final job skill has a 1 in 3 chance of killing your opponent outright, turning then to stone instantly or doing a fair amount of damage. Okay so he doesn't do as much damage as a Monk that has focused 20 times with the dual wield support, 2/3 for insta foe removal is pretty good. :)
@@paulwolfley7785 Me I use the battle ground that's southwest of the execution stage. You set up on the island, the enemy has to come to you with the back most space being pretty much invulnerable to most random attackers. I put a monk in front of Cloud. Cloud pretty much gains a level every time he hits the monk. the monk can then heal himself and Cloud since they are on the same level. If Somehow Cloud goes down, the monk is right there to revive him. Rinse and repeat.
That feels like it would need to be a game specific list in something like Braveky Default 2 which has tons of classes/jobs just because of how much classes change between different games. And also, in that case it wouldn't work since besides a few of them every class is story related.
4:15 That is because it's his special ability of Blood Gamble. If he fires guns normaly, he don't take self inflicted damaged, but guns consume ammo normally. But if you use his special ability, he will fire weapon without consuming ammo (or even fire weapon without ammo) but have random chance of taking self inflicted damage.
Speaking of Lego Batman 3, it also features the Green Loontern. Who is in fact a Daffy Duck version of the Green Lantern because of a dry cleaning mix-up. Sadly enough, it was the last time Joe Alaskey voiced Daffy Duck as anything before dying two years later.
To make cloud in fft even worse, you can only use his special ability limit breaks with the buster sword equipped. There's only 1 in the game, and it's in a very hard to reach spot on top of a volcano in a random battle map. He's even more useless without it.
@@CodaBlair all the knight swords for sure. Not that it matters. The charge time for limits is exceptionally long. Even if you have the sword and learned all the limits, you'll never actually pull them off before the target moves out of the way.
It isn't difficult to get, Spike Boots for +1 Jump and Move-Find item are both incredibly early game items/abilities. It also lets him get Finishing Touch which will 1-shot enemies without fail. You don't need damage when you will always inflict stop, petrify, or death without missing.
Another nomination: Super Smash Bros Melee: Some "hidden characters" are easier to unlock than others. Some are unlocked by rushing through pretty easy events or by beating story mode once. In order to unlock Mewtwo, you need to play versus mode for 20 hours in total. Completely arbitrary and pretty harsh for no reason. Mewtwo isn't a very good character either. In order to unlock Game & Watch, you need to complete Classic Mode, Adventure Mode or Target Test with all other characters. Which means all other characters need to be unlocked first and then require you to beat the modes with said characters. He isn't very good either; mostly used as a meme or by drunk people.
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn had so many useless characters that could be unlocked and they would be right next to really good characters. Since the game had limited exp that could be earned, you really needed to plan which ones would be worth focusing, which ones needed to be babied, and which ones needed to be never used even if you had the party space. One that comes to mind is Meg. She is the only tank you get early on in the game, but is completely worthless. Her max stats and growth are mediocre and do not contribute to her role as a tank in any way. Even leveling her up is worthless as you have several other story critical characters that need to be babied up (like Micaiaha or Sothe, on harder difficulties). Oh and her story is literally nothing worth talking about. She just shows up, wants to marry another side character (who doesn’t want to), and then just marries some ordinary person at the end credits.
... something occurs to me, probably because I've been watching a lot of Star Trek. Jean-Luc Picard probably gave Wes the Silent some harsh instructions, but this time, he listened.
12:58 the ssx one and the other ones in general actually. do come from a time before achievement hunting, these things where rewards to show your freinds that you where good at a game. They where dfently bragging rights rewards
Vampire Survivors has incredible unlockable characters, and some pretty good ones for this! My suggestion would be the ghosts Exdash, Toastie, and Smith, who are all unlocked in bizarre reference-y ways and all have extremely low stats. They're not totally useless though-- at one point (before some new items got added) Toastie was the only way in the game to kill Death! Thanks for the amazing video as always!
Oh my god, I haven't heard that battle music from Shining Force in YEARS and I'm only 26. I, in a thousand years, didn't think that would make it on, and I half joked thinking to myself "imagine if they had this on the list" yet here we are
(8:50) No, the phrase is _"irrational fear_ of spiders" not "it's irrational to fear spiders". You can have irrational fear of murderers and death too, only if your fear is irrational. There are some spiders you can have a rational fear to.
Thats only on afterbirth the original and rebirth only had flight as a perk considering the way its unlocked in this video im sure its talking about the one with just a flight perk cause in afterbirth you just need the poster and die in the sacrifice room.

Faramir from "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King." When you unlocked him he had a nearly identical move set to Aaragorn but with less damage per sword swing.
That said, he was still good. And arguably he was a better archer.
@@alejandronieto4212 sure but Aaragorn was already outclassed in melee by both Legolas and Gandalf. No matter which level you were on, there wasn't much reason to use him for anything other than the xp grind. So when you beat the game and unlock Faramir... why would you?
A chance for Faramir, son of Gondor, to show his quality… mediocre.
@@silas6328 Aragorn wasnt outclased in melee by legolas and gandalf. The only things holding him down were his strong attack, wich was kinda lame, and his archer skills, where he was subpar.

The timer for boss rush doesn't apply when holding the broken shovel. They were, at least, that kind.
What makes the Forgotten not worth it though?
@@SapphireDragon357 whoops I forgot to mention that lol, he has a fun mechanic but for what it is it's not worth it imo. He has a melee attack and can go into a spirit form that shoots normal tears. He has bone hearts (not as good as normal hearts) and his spirit form has soul hearts (also not as good as normal hearts) and he does normal damage. like he's not bad but for what he is his unlock method is just stupid

@@Unapologeticweeb The harder to unlock character is definitely better than both of them, I agree.
And to use Cloud's abilities you need to keep his unique sword on him, which gets outclassed. Most of his abilities are too slow too.
Finishing Touch is grossly underrated though. You can lower its charge time to basically zero, and it’s a one hit kill on 99% of enemies.
First time I was going through FFT, I didn't even know who Cloud was. I did keep him, but I think I made him a ninja or something.
I love everything about that game except the hidden item crap.
The one time I got him and was working on leveling him up an enemy ended up breaking his sword. Needless to say he was perma ditched after that
My mom's a huge fan of both FF7 and Tactics, so she's told me about the Cloud problem.
@@nathanielbass771 . Materia Blade is not even a "Knight Sword" is just a normal Sword.
Your mom? God I feel old

He died !? My day is ruined…
There’s more about Cloud in FFT
After you get him, you still need to find his weapon “Materia Blade” if you want to use his Soldier skills, which means his job is useless if you give him a better weapon and stuff like that, not to mention how long the charge times are
Yep top of mount bervenia needing bs treasure hunter with high jump (4 though germinas boots are good insurance) that chocobo mounting and other movement abilities block.
You can use dual wield to equip a better weapon in his right hand. Materia blade is fine in the left.

3:09, don't take her puns from us.
Jogurt making other characters appear as hamsters sure sounds like a win to me.
Adam West is SO worth the effort.

Seeing Shining Force mentioned makes me beyond happy.
Same. Such an underappreciated game just because it was an RPG that wasn't on SNES.
Same, my first ever RPG.
You know at the very least, Adam West's greatest ability is that he forever lives on in our hearts.
Andy chastising poor Ellen for making puns, as if he hasn't stood off screen shouting "Boooooo!" to Jane and Mike on several occasions!
"Naked he isnt butt confused he is" is getting tattooed on my body

Considering they require you to collect every single special item in the game, which requires completing every scenario multiple tomes, as each character on each difficulty, and what you get is brightly coloured stick men, with dreadful stats, some with painfully slow movement speed and even starting the round in the Danger state.
Cloud can be tough to level, but he can be pretty powerful if you have the right equipment and skills.

Cloud with short charge and finishing touch is actually pretty potent one of the best status attacks in the game. And hes the only male that can equip some female exclusive gear a call back to ff7
But it’s too much effort for how late you get him. It’s not the game is really hard to even require that.
Cloud with fast charge is actually pretty good with finishing touch. And he can use things like chantage and ribbon

@@loka7783 corner a enemy as a chicken, take turns hitting and healing a trapped chicken and you'll level up fast enough
I don't know how that yeti got there yet-he managed it. You're not alone Ellen
How cruel of Outside Xbox to leave us on such a cliffhanger, will Andy ever get his Milky Way???
"Ellen please. You're on Outside Xbox now." I wish this wasn't the best bit because your hard work is super appreciated, but it is the best bit.
Although the post-gym comment isn't far behind either.
Hey could you guys do top 7 worst classes to unlock? Some classes seem cool but then you play them and find out they kinda suck
That feels like it would need to be a game specific list in something like Braveky Default 2 which has tons of classes/jobs just because of how much classes change between different games. And also, in that case it wouldn't work since besides a few of them every class is story related.
13:09 the video went to an ad while I had bad signal here, so the screen actually went black and the video stopped right as Andy said, "Video's over"
This is what happens when the others leave Andy and Ellen alone in the studio.

That is because it's his special ability of Blood Gamble. If he fires guns normaly, he don't take self inflicted damaged, but guns consume ammo normally. But if you use his special ability, he will fire weapon without consuming ammo (or even fire weapon without ammo) but have random chance of taking self inflicted damage.
Ellen: "American football had confusing rules"
Cricket: exists
Speaking of Lego Batman 3, it also features the Green Loontern. Who is in fact a Daffy Duck version of the Green Lantern because of a dry cleaning mix-up. Sadly enough, it was the last time Joe Alaskey voiced Daffy Duck as anything before dying two years later.
To make cloud in fft even worse, you can only use his special ability limit breaks with the buster sword equipped. There's only 1 in the game, and it's in a very hard to reach spot on top of a volcano in a random battle map. He's even more useless without it.
Also, doesn't the Buster Sword quickly get outclassed by pretty much everything?
@@CodaBlair all the knight swords for sure. Not that it matters. The charge time for limits is exceptionally long. Even if you have the sword and learned all the limits, you'll never actually pull them off before the target moves out of the way.
@@retsz thats why you give him short charge and use finishing touch.
It isn't difficult to get, Spike Boots for +1 Jump and Move-Find item are both incredibly early game items/abilities.
It also lets him get Finishing Touch which will 1-shot enemies without fail.
You don't need damage when you will always inflict stop, petrify, or death without missing.
Another nomination: Super Smash Bros Melee:
Some "hidden characters" are easier to unlock than others.
Cloud was still really cool to unlock!!!
Now it's time to grind harder than Tony Hawk in a coffee shop!
12:58 the ssx one and the other ones in general actually. do come from a time before achievement hunting, these things where rewards to show your freinds that you where good at a game. They where dfently bragging rights rewards
I love your puns Ellen. Keep it up. ☺️
You forgot to mention that an added bonus if you don't find the buster sword leveling won't save Cloud lol
Ellen reminded me of Mike in her delivery on 4:17. Also her pun was awesome, an out of body experience, if you will!
Andy, they're not paying you enough for your talents. Raise your price.
Oh my god, I haven't heard that battle music from Shining Force in YEARS and I'm only 26.
I, in a thousand years, didn't think that would make it on, and I half joked thinking to myself "imagine if they had this on the list" yet here we are
The items locked behind the lost are actually some of the best in the game
And unfortunatly it's the same for jacob and esau but unlike them I do actually love the lost
my dog's ears flapped at the crinkle of that treat for the bit at the start there. Very authentic.
(8:50) No, the phrase is _"irrational fear_ of spiders" not "it's irrational to fear spiders". You can have irrational fear of murderers and death too, only if your fear is irrational. There are some spiders you can have a rational fear to.
So timely! Just happened to be replaying “FF Tactics: WOTL” recently!
In fairness, the mime from don't starve was meant to give players a bigger challenge.
0:08 WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!?! WHAT KINDA MILKY WAY IS THAT?!?!?!?
The lost is one of the most op characters of isaac. Being able to take a hit every room is way too strong
Thats only on afterbirth the original and rebirth only had flight as a perk considering the way its unlocked in this video im sure its talking about the one with just a flight perk cause in afterbirth you just need the poster and die in the sacrifice room.
