We had a great time staying at the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel by Marriott. From the extra stuffed pillows to the surprise fireworks view, we really enjoyed the room itself. Our favourite part of our stay at the Dolphin was the walking and boat access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We also discuss some of the points that we didn't enjoy as much - like our expensive breakfast at Fuel (the Quick Serve dining option in the Dolphin) and the resort fees, among a few other things. We've stayed at the Dolphin 13 times, Swan 1.
Got started staying there in June, 2007 when I attended the first of 7 IBM software conferences.
Enjoyed the hotel and area (Crescent Lake) so much, we started coming back in February most years (to avoid crowds, heat, etc.) and stayed there each time.
One restaurant I didn't see listed was The Fountain. It is much more reasonably priced than the others, and had great food, service, and good quantity size.
As for pricing, I sometimes compared the Dolphin to Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club. It always was much less per night, sometimes $400 or so!
I'm retired but did travel for 9 years with my work and always stayed at Marriott properties. As a result, I'm a lifetime Titanium and always get a nice upgrade when at the Dolphin. And that brings me to another benefitof staying there - getting points for each dollar spent.
Our favorite rooms were in the wing closest to Crescent Lake. Had two balconies and great views of the Epcot fireworks.
Since Epcot is our favorite park, it was a great place to stay - always walked to the park.
You mentioned being there for New Year's holiday. As with all of WDW, we stayed very clear of any holidays and summer times.

What a great comment! I love that you have the experience of repeated stays to point out some good tips! I don't think we ever visited The Fountain, but now I'll add it to the list. We'll be staying at the Swan in December, and I'm excited to explore a little more. That room sounds amazing! Do you just request it at the desk, or is it a different category of room type?
We are weirdos and totally love the buzzing crowds of NYE at Disney haha - we'll be there again this year!

Wow I was there New Years with my family, pool and the boat rides. Just a little pricey but overall pretty good.
Sounds like we were there around the same time! New Year's is always a little pricier at Disney, but it was definitely nice to be within walking distance of Epcot that night!
I have always wanted to stay at the Dolphin hotel! It's so beautiful. Lovely room and room tour! Nice size room. Love the Starbucks products. LOVE the lighting in the bathroom mirror. You are making me really want to try that sandwich lol! This resort is so lovely outside and I love how close it is to Epcot/HS and the Boardwalk. Lovely review and tour. Love that you can walk or get on the boat. That tv sounds possessed LOL! Fantastic video as always :) Thanks for sharing with us!

The Swan & Dolphin alike have always intimidated us because of the absolutely _massive_ scale of the buildings; but the size of the accommodations, the amenities and the dining options (as well as the price point) have always been very tempting for us! 02:33 Katie loves to do the bed test exactly the same way 😁 Definitely not a bad room at all, especially for a non-Disney property. It was a nice surprise to find out that you were able to see the fireworks from your window, too! Sounds like you need to call an exorcist for your TV, though. Keep an eye out in case the TV turns back on while it's unplugged...that's usually a clear sign that it's time to head on out. 😂 Terrific vlog, and great review!
