    I think Disney raised the price of the bus service (it charged Swalphin) so Mears was hired. Mears doesn’t have the same privileges as a Disney bus so they have to act like any other tour company, or privately owned vehicle.
    Completely agree that it’s a pain to walk to the boardwalk bus stop. It’s also fun to take the ferry or monorail to the park.
    It might be worth the walk to Boardwalk or Yatch Club to rope drop Animal Kingdom. Disney buses can get through before the parking lot opens, and Mears must wait with the cars. I still don’t recommend this as it only works for maybe a 6:00am trip to AK. Need a real disney pro to figure this timing out though.
    Great video!

      Hey Matt!
      Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts with us this morning. For sure, taking the ferry and/or monorail to Magic Kingdom can be a lot of fun. Definitely a magical way to start the day.
      As far as Animal Kingdom is concerned, we had no problem rope dropping or taking advantage of the Early Theme Park Entry [a perk Swan, Dolphin & Swan Reserve guests can enjoy too] when staying at the Swan and taking the Swan & Dolphin bus. The process was the same as it is with Disney buses, the only difference is the drop off point. That said, we still didn't have to wait in line with the cars/general public and were still able to get into the park in order to enjoy that extra 30 minutes at the beginning of the day. :-)
      Thanks again for your comment.
      Have a great day.

    Thanks for the info. I am staying at the Dolphin in April before Easter. We are planning to go to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. We were planning on going to Animal Kingdom, but Expedition Everest is in refurbishment so we opted for the original, Magic Kingdom. You hit on what I need to know transportation wise for Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs .

    Wow Wow Wow, Thank you so much for this great detailed Video. You answered every question and then some. The gf and I sat there and watched it twice, You’re very pleasant to listen to.
    The last time we took a Disney World trip was 6 years ago. We stayed at the Dolphin for 10 nights and it was wonderful. Our friends Stayed at the Swan and they loved it too. Great location, Great Price and yes, we are so looking forward to going back. We’re going to make it a once a year trip from now on for sure.

    Seems so much has changed in the past 6 years. To get ready we’re learning/researching about using Genie+ … which Parks what days(were going to go to each park twice while were there + Disney Springs and a water park) … where to do early entries what ride to go on first … where to make Dinning reservations(in 12 days is our 60 day mark) … Magic Bands … Ubering to Walmart for supplies(Wine, Beer, Gin, Bourbon…lol) With a trip like this you have to plan a lot so you can make it more spontaneous when you get there. Does that make sense?
    SO thanks again for your great Video. You are a Natural being on camera. Looking forward to watching more. Just curious, How often do you guys go to Disney and do you usually stay at the Swan?
    Much appreciation, Steve.

      Thanks so much! I'm glad that I was able to answer your questions.
      For sure! A lot has changed and yeah it's a lot, but you're making perfect sense!
      I've always been a "once a year" kinda visitor, but I took about 10 years hiatus from WDW when I moved to Japan and swapped out for Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. [During that time I did a lot of travel writing.] Since we moved to the US, we've been back in the swing of about once per year until 2021 when I visited 3 times [one with Russ]. This most recent stay I did at the Swan was my first, but my "go to" resorts at Walt Disney World are in the EPCOT area. . . so I'm very familiar with the neighborhood. . so to speak.
      You're very welcome,
      Kat

    Hi there! Thank you for your videos! I’ve been researching transportation and you have unique content and perspective!
    So we are going to Disney world next month. We are staying at pop century. Another video I watched mentioned that the Disney transportation gets so congested, we should consider a ride share to ensure rope drop. Do you have an opinion on whether that is a solid strategy? (I did watch your other video so I do know about the TTC transport)

      Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. We're so glad that you enjoy the videos and our perspective. 🙂As it turns out, we do have some thoughts on whether or not taking a ride share is a solid strategy. Lots of them actually. . . we've been chatting about this since you left your comment. That said, give us another couple of days to get a video up to answer your question in its entirety. Hi Kathryn, thanks for this detailed video on how to get around. The last time I was at the Dolphin the MK bus dropped at the entrance, it's a shame it has now changed and without seeing your video I would have taken for granted it still dropped off at the entrance - so at least coming across your video it has given me some options -> thanks.

    Thank you so much for this video! We are heading to the Swan this fall for the first time and this answered a ton of questions we had about transportation.
    I am still curious if the friendship boats are full in the morning hours by the time they get to the swan and dolphin pick up? Do you find during holiday seasons the friendship boats are hard to get a spot on?
    Thanks again!

    • @jngai
      @jngai 2 роки тому +1

      I will be there later this month and will let you know. Although I found this video where they show the inside of the friendship boat. I would say a boat can comfortably fit 40 people w/o anyone standing so I can't imagine it would be hard to get on the boat in the morning. Plus my understanding is boats goes back and forth but Swan/Dolphin is the last stop (as in Yacht Club/Broadwalk resorts get dropped off first when coming back from Epcot) so the boat should be empty when it is picking up guests heading to Epcot.

      @2foolishmortals  2 роки тому

      Hi Kristin!
      Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! We appreciate it and apologize that it's taken us so long to get back to you. Ok! Let's get to answering this question of yours. . . .
      When it comes to the Friendship Boats, holiday season or not, there are times when they are going to be empty and others when they are so full you may find yourself needing to wait for the next one. It really just depends on any number of things like how many wheelchairs may be on board or what time you arrive to catch the boat. One thing we talk about a LOT when discussing Disney Transportation is arriving early and the Friendship Boats are no exception. [NOTE: You may find our recent video about Early Theme Park Entry useful. We got into some details about what "early" means and it might help get the gears turning. You can find it HERE - ua-cam.com/video/y2qWUEBeDAI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=2FoolishMortals ]
      All this having been said, there are a few things you'll also want to be aware of when it comes to the Friendship Boats. First, there is more than one boat running at any one time and both of these boats are going to ALL of the stops, but in opposite directions. As I sit here typing this, I realize how confusing this might sound. . . . so hang in there with me. . . . This means that one of the boats is starting at Hollywood Studios and then going to Swan & Dolphin, Yacht & Beach, Boardwalk and EPCOT while the second boat is starting at EPCOT, Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach, Swan & Dolphin and Hollywood Studios. So there's no "real" first or last stop here. . . . it's a continuous loop for both boats. This usually makes it so that you won't have TOO much trouble getting on. . . . but it depends on those factors we talked about above.
      Thanks again for stopping by, we'll keep an eye out for any other questions you have so feel free to ask away and we'll do what we can to answer them in a much more timely manner than this first response. 🙂

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 роки тому

      Hey @@jngai,
      I saw your comment came in as "blocked" for some reason. . . so I had to approve it, but it's here now. 🙂In actuality, the boats fit closer to 100 people before indoor standing room. However, keep in mind that there's something like 5,000 rooms between all of the EPCOT area resorts. Of course, not EVERYONE is going to be taking the boat and certainly not all at the same time. . . . there's still a chance that you'll find yourself having to wait for the next boat; especially during crowded times of the year.
      Also, yes the boats go back and forth between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. So you're correct in your assumption that the boat will likely be empty [particularly first thing in the morning] when arriving at the Swan & Dolphin once it's making its way back from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT. Of course, as the day progresses, it will no longer be empty because guests returning from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT area resorts will be on board. Hope that helps. 🙂

      You will need to take 2 modes of transportation, yes. One bus from the Swan to the TTC and then a ferry, monorail or bus [the bus is not always running from what I understand] to the gates of the Magic Kingdom. Feel free to let me know if there are any other questions I can answer for you. 😀

      Hi 👋 Thanks for your question, it's a good one. It's most definitely not better to drive to Magic Kingdom. Driving to Magic Kimgdom, regardless where you are coming from, is the absolute worst route. Even with trams, it's quicker and easier to take transportation provided by your resort. Hope this helps. 😀

    What is Swan and Dolphin transportation and how does it differ from WDW transportation? Is this just old news? Thanks.

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  Рік тому

      It's not old news, all of this information is still relevant today. The transportation from Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve is similar to WDW Transportation. In fact they share boat transportation with Walt Disney World Resorts in the EPCOT area, so in that way they are exactly the same. The biggest difference is with bus transportation. Busses from Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve are not operated by Disney and have drop off points that are different, as outlined in the video.

      WDW bus transportation used to operate service to the Swan and Dolphin (for example a Magic Kingdom bus headed to Boardwalk would make stops at the Swan and Dolphin); I have no idea why they changed it.

  • @billbrandt6734
    @billbrandt6734 2 роки тому

    Hi I just watched your video on transportation from the swan and dolphin and I can’t tell you how mad I was. I think that it is totally wrong of you to be telling people to go over to the boardwalk or yacht club to use their transportation to get to a park or to get home at night. People pay a premium price to stay at those resorts and to get bumped out of line and not make the bus for rope drop or have to wait to get home because people staying at a non Disney hotel is totally wrong. You decided to stay at the swan and dolphin for a cheaper price. You should use the transportation that’s provided and not make other guests who are staying at these resorts wait because the buses are full.

      Hello Bill,
      Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. Here at the 2 Foolish Mortals Channel, one of our priorities is answering the questions that we are asked to the best of our ability; which is what we did here today. The information provided in this video is all readily available, but we consolidated it as a way to help others gain a better understanding of how to get around the Walt Disney World Resort.
      That having been said, Walt Disney World Transportation [to include the bus, monorail, Skyliner and water transportation] is available to ALL GUESTS regardless whether or not they have a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservation. This information is coming directly from the Walt Disney World website, which you can check out HERE:

      This comment is seething with privilege. As stated by the other responses, resort guests can use the transportation as they fit. Are you suggesting that people provide their hotel documentation so they can board the buses first? Good luck getting back in a timely fashion.
