Did you save any time compared to the Tesla
Such a fun video, cant wait to stay here sometime. Also thankyou for not filming the kids at the pool, some people are wayyy to comfortable with that nowadays!! Love the vibes, instand sub <333
Ahh thank you so much for the compliments and the sub! It is definitely a wonderful resort and for sure worth visiting! <3
This makes me want to stay there! The begniets look so good.
They are absolutely phenomenal! Must try them!
I’ve been to Dixie Landing 😝 which I believe is the only name of Riverside! And then I stayed in the princess rooms at Riverside! Never to French Quarter!
Those princess rooms were phenomenal, eh?! We stayed in one last May!
Have you stayed at French Quarter before? Are you planning a trip there now? Let us know your thoughts on the resort and any questions you might have in the comments below!
What was it about the Tesla that made you move away?
Did a similar trip in a nissan rouge. During the Hurricane Helene evaluation I decided to see some sites i wanted to see in Pennsylvania. Gettysburg, Flight 93 Memorial and the Frank Loyd Wright houses Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater. After that a short visit with my sister near Erie. Coming back were sporadic power outages on the way back. Damage on the Georgia coast. A great trip despite the evaluation. If not back, have a safe trip.
We have definitely made it home safe and thanks so much for the kind words!! Those all sound like great places to visit, we have done a bit of Pennsylvania but not enough. We will look up some of the place you’ve gone and see if they can fit into our travels. We are starting to plan stops on the way to check out things longer and more in depth, I believe next trip we are actually going I-75 so was thinking of stopping in to Cincinnati and possibly Atlanta for longer stays.
Since you plan on doing I 75 . In September the Gordie Howe bridge is supposed to be done. Between Windsor and Detroit.
How does cabin quietness of the Tucson compare to the Model 3?
So we did test drive the newest model 3 and compared they both seem very quiet, and maybe the same. The Tucson is softer on bumps and such though so it feels like a smoother drive.
What was your overall MPG for the entire trip?
The MPG for our trip stuck around 29. We are still trying to figure out which setting is the best but the engine is also still very new and apparently this gets better as it gets worked in, but time will tell.
There is a "Car Wash" mode as well.
Ooh good to know! Thanks for the tip - will have to look for that one!
Hello there and congrats for your new vehicle! Thank you for this video! It's always nice to see other people experience with a car you have. I have the 2025 PHEV as well, but the EU version. As you are in Canada, I wanted to check something with you. When it's cold and you set the heating on, does it turn on the engine to produce heat? I know sometimes Hybrids for Canada market are equipped with PTC heaters that allows for electric heating.
The heating and cooling system is something we’re still trying to figure out actually. It’s puzzling. Sometimes it feels cold when we have heat on. Sometimes we’re getting a/c through the centre console area when we have it directed to the feet… we’ll have to play around with it a bit and get back to you!
Interesting video. I just traded in my Model 3 for the same car as yourselves (titan grey). Love it so far!
So glad you are loving it so far, we are loving it as well! It is far more comfortable of a drive, we like sitting higher now and for us, the build quality is much better. The added bonus we notice, no one cares what I drive anymore, so none of those awkward Tesla conversations. There are some small nuances we are not use to and there are more buttons but it just takes time. Cheers!
A great drive video. I know you're driving a gas vehicle but did you observe charging stations other then Tesla. I drive a Cadillac Lyric (electric) and debating if I should take the chance on our late January drive to Florida along the same route.
Great question and that is something we will keep in mind to share. So the answer is yes, there are other chargers, like lvl 2 chargers. You can download the app PlugShare and check it out before you go to help you plan a little and see if that facilitates what you are looking for. Another thing you can check out, Tesla chargers have been opening up to other brands to use their chargers, maybe Cadillac is one of them. A quick search claims Cadillac has an adapter for us vehicles, www.caranddriver.com/lexus/gm-nacs-adapter-tesla-superchargers-released. I would do a bit of planning around this but is probably very doable. You will most likely have longer times to charge, so maybe try to estimate time and maybe shoot for 2 full days and a half driving. You will more likely have to stop for 2 nights but can be an adventure!! Hope that helps
💖💖💖
🥰🥰🥰 Happy new year Jen! Thanks for being a part of our 2024!
Congratulations for your new Tucson PHEV! I did a lot of research on this car and like it a lot. It's very likely I will get one in 2025.
@@davidqian3337 thank you so much! We are so in love with the Tucson! Just took it on a long road trip and learned some new tips and tricks, that helped us fall in love with it even more. I hope you love it as much as we do!
Thank you for sharing :) We're planning to drive down with our MY for the first time
@@hollym808 amazing!! Hope you have a fantastic drive!
This route is more scenic and saves 1.5 hours dependant on where you are going in Florida. The con of doing this trip is if there’s any sort of winter weather it makes it quite treacherous. Caa wont recommend this route for any of the winter months (Dec to april). There’s more stops for fuel (not applicable for a Tesla lol) and support along i75. I’m doing going down in February and may consider this route for the way back.
@@michaeltester6174 yes, definitely recommend checking the weather before you take this route! I think it was earlier in November that the entire highway was closed between New York and Erie PA! Would not want to get stuck in that. But if the weather is clear, this route is absolutely gorgeous and so much fun to drive!
@@ever.after.adventuresaren’t you down in Florida now? Lol
@@michaeltester6174 lol we are indeed! Monitoring the weather for our drive back next week… not looking great on either route!
I watch for the road trip to Florida and the journey, the car you drive is an extra bonus :)
@@koreytobias5255 so glad you’re enjoying our videos! Next road trip is happening at the end of the month!
@@ever.after.adventures I am driving to Florida boxing day as well. Taking I75 down, enjoy you next trip looking forward to watching the video!
Great topic! Thanks for sharing your goals and your tips. We’re making our first trip to Disney in January. The posted quick service menus in the parks seem to be mostly deep fried food. Were you able to find healthy options in the parks when you wanted them? Just basics like sandwiches, salads, fruit or vegetables available etc?
@@vwood2 thanks so much for the comment! We were able to find some healthier options - not necessarily exactly the same as we eat at home, but healthier than deep fried things! Some of our favourites were the salad at flame tree bbq in animal kingdom, and the salad at Rosie’s all American cafe in Hollywood studios! There are also some great sandwiches at Boardwalk deli at the Boardwalk resort, and (prob not health-conscious at all but super delicious) at Les Halles in the France pavilion at Epcot! Hope that’s helpful! Enjoy your trip!!
@ I’m glad you were able to stay on track. And thank you very much for the salad and sandwich tips. It will take a bit of time to get oriented, so it’s great to a few recommendations to begin with. 😊
Those burgers and salad look fantastic! 😋
@@vwood2 ohhhh we legit have *dreams* about this meal! Absolutely delicious!!
Thank you - this is a great tour of the resort! Loved the walking tours. Thanks for the inside tips on skyliner access. 😊🙏🏼 We’re making our first trip to Disney and staying here in January 2025. When you mention being chilly (I assume that was the December trip) did you need warm jackets during the day as well?
@@vwood2 thank you so much! Glad it was helpful!! Winter is weird in Florida… some years are really chilly, others are fairly moderate. During the days, you’re usually able to get away with a t-shirt if it’s sunny, or maybe a sweater on top if you tend to run a bit cold… and then as soon as the sun goes down, you’ll want something a bit warmer. I definitely recommend packing layers!
Went to the concert yesterday, so wish I could go again ❤
@@Riz_Aviation_722 so glad you had a great time at the concert!
Love the video and the test drive. I was actually drawn to your channel for the vlog style road trips in a Tesla as I aspire to do that myself in my own Tesla. Thank you so much! That’s so nice to hear! Hope you love your stay - we’re both big fans of this resort!
Where was the UA-cam fanfest ?
@@Gautamkamboj_ca I’m not aware of that!
Is the breakfast included?
No, it’s a separate cost.
Great video, we are just trying to decide on the swan or dolphins. Travelling from the U.K. with my two adult children. Are the room sizes the same and are the bed sizes the same?
Oohh. It’s hard for me to answer that 100% factually, as I think there are multiple room types to choose from. The two rooms we stayed at in each hotel were roughly the same size - we did think the Swan had a more functional bathroom design. The biggest difference we found was with the lobby / size of the hotel. We found that the Dolphin was bigger, and its lobby was more “grand” whereas the Swan was beautiful but more understated. We also found that we would have to wait longer for the elevator at Dolphin, whereas at Swan, there was always an elevator waiting for us! Personally, I think they are both really great hotels and in such an amazing location! You really can’t go wrong with either one :)
Nice video. Just something about sitting in your car all that time, even at a supercharger, would discourage me from buying an EV for any lengthy road trip. Taken my CE vehicle to Florida multiple times and took our time over two days with close to 500 miles per tankful and very relaxing. Have also taken the Auto Train down and back which was fun.
That’s fair - ev’s are definitely not for everyone! I do sometimes find myself wishing that it was a bit faster to charge (especially at the spots that don’t have much around to see/do), but tbh, I kind of love exploring when there are different shops and stores around! I’m very curious about the auto train! Did a bit of research on it before our last trip, but ended up not biting the bullet on taking it. Maybe one day!
Long Island
EV’s always have better off the line performance because the power transfer is instantanious. I still love the sound that combustion engines give. I might rent an EV for a week, but I don’t think I’ll give up driving my NA motor. I get almost 600 km out of a tank doing highway and it takes about 10 minutes to refill her. There’s pros and cons to both types so really comes down to what you want to do with the $$$$. What is the average life span of a set of batteries and what cost is there to replace them? Also what’s the cost to charge a Tesla from empty?
I definitely agree that the sound of a car is pretty awesome! I use to work on cars after high school and was a mechanic for a while with Audi, so can relate to that feeling. I can’t really give you an entire cost comparison as we don’t have both and costs and all that have changed since we had a gas vehicle but in terms of what we spend, from 0 - full would cost roughly around $30 cad. That gets us about 400km give or take. The lifespan of the battery, I believe is still not fully known. Tesla warranties the battery for 10 years and overall I hear the degradation is not big, maybe 1-2% a year. What I love the most, the maintenance is very low, as it doesn’t need oils or anything like that. We did replace the tires, the car is pretty heavy so we wear on that a little more. Overall, I would agree there are pros and cons to both and I don’t believe either is better just preference. Hybrids might be the sweet spot today but again, circumstance and preference. We would love to get another Tesla, as we have had great experiences with the car, but the company is a whole other animal. The sales and service and finance departments don’t really communicate, so you can get stuck in situations such as us trying to buy a number of months back and having to do our own back and forth with each. We killed the deal just because there was no transparency and getting mixed info from each. I am not a fan of Elon and all the things he does publicly. I do realize other ceos could have the same sort of thoughts but I don’t hear of to many publicly doing what he is, so we are not sure what we might get down the road but will have to decide soon. Let’s us know if you have further questions!
@@ever.after.adventures thanks for the info! I really hadn’t heard how much it costs to charge them. $30 is cheaper for sure. I’d say I’m about $100 from empty, depending on gas prices of course. I’ve been seeing commercials for the new Mustang EV. That one looks pretty sweet. I can see the saving on maintenance as well! Doing a synthetic oil change on the Poolmobile is about $100. The life of the batteries seems really good too. For some reason I thought it would be a lot less. Definitely food for thought.
I’m pretty sure that shirt is pop icons mixed with characters. Like Albert Einstein and Chewbacca. And Shakespeare and Superman. And David Bowie and Spock
Yes! That's what we were thinking too - like pop icons doing cosplay! It's so cute! :D
I love that they put a retro comic book in the bag. I remember the ads in the comics growing up. One was for sea monkeys. I ALWAYS wanted to order them, but never did. That and the X-Ray specs! Haha Great video! Can’t wait for day 3-4!!
YESSSSS, those ads! I remember sea monkeys too! Haha... there were so many fun little things like that growing up! Thank you so much for watching, commenting, and for hanging out with us!! :D
Nice test drive new friends. It's a good car. Love the white inside . Stay blessed and connected 🫵🙏👍👍
Thank you so much! :D
I agree about Elon being a big ol idiot. But I'm still taking delivery of a Model 3 Performance in a couple days lol. Something to keep in mind is that you can literally find Elon likes within ANY major corporation. They just hide it better. Steve Jobs was an asshole. And Apple has done some highly questionable things with regard to knowingly pushing out problematic devices to consumers over the years. Yet I see y'all have zero issue supporting that company. Point is, just buy what you want to buy. Because if you look to only buy from companies with 100% moral leadership then you'll likely wind up having to toss everything that you own. Not to mention, Elon is set regardless. Boycotting his company's cars won't even affect him
That's a totally fair perspective, and we're not trying to change anyone's opinions by any means. But for me personally (this is Cate writing), as a therapist, I know that one of the most important pieces of feeling fully aligned and showing up as my authentic self is to guide my own decision making process by my values. Right now, there is a major values conflict between myself and Elon, which then extends to the Tesla brand - so I, personally, would not feel great about driving around in a new Tesla (I already don't feel great about driving around in our current Tesla, knowing what it represents). I have absolutely no doubt that there are crappy leaders at the helm of many brands that I support - but they are most definitely less vocal about their crappy views, which makes it less of a values concern for me. But when their views are paraded out there far and wide for everyone to be aware of, then when I am displaying myself using that brand, there is then an association from me to the brand and to those views. My choice in not buying a Tesla has nothing to do with "punishing Elon" or anything like that - because you're right, it will not affect him whatsoever. My choice has to do with how I feel when I support a company that has an inherent values conflict with the person I am.
Roll the window up you'll get better mileage and less dust/humidity in the vehicle. I ended up buying a Mercedes GLE 450, still love Elon. Oh and Trump 2024!
It's summer in Canada - haha... can't help but drive with the windows down!
Use my code if you need one! Thank you in advance.... claudius529826
In Franklyn you are at a V2 supercharger. Which means when you park beside someone you are sharing a cabinet Since V2’s are 150 kw max and you are sharing, if both of you arrive around the same time and low in the pack, you’d share the 150kw in half with the other car pulling power from the cabinet. Look for 1A,1B 2A, 2B, etc. V3’s are numbered a little differently. V3’s do not share power unless if the site is extremely busy.
What great advice, we will keep this in mind!!
