Getting optimistic at the success of this restoration. Also good to see the welder is coping with the cheese that Morris was making its cars out of in 1958.
It may not be the prettiest or quickest restoration but it will get there. Aiming for as much of the work possible to be done by me in the shed so I can call it bodged not bought 🤣
@@zoidberg444 how fitting. However I think by the end of this project I'll be up to a reasonable standard and ready to take on the Holden Ute V8 supercharged Drift King project
Its coming along. Dont forget that panels dont always need to be welded. Panel bonding is widely used in body shops. Protects better from future rust and hold just as strong if not stronger that plug welds .
I'm sure it is widely used but we have strict rules on repair and that would require certification or a headache at least as it's different from factory. Cheers!
My moggie (same colour!) has been in the garage waiting for a very similar repair for a year now... It's great to see you go through it, gives me a bit more confidence!
looking good i put a strip of copper under areas where the metals a bit thin helps stop it burning away also acts as a heat sink to help reduce warping when you go to refit the doors start with your rear door and work forward easier to get the gaps right
All that metal coming off (you're a better man than I am Gunga Din) and now at last some goes back on...looks like a nice job, and it certainly isn't coming off in a hurry!
Couple of tips, when doing the final trial fit, clamp the new piece in place and cut through the new panel and old panel together, it'll give you a really good edge on both to fit and butt weld. There's also Weld Through Etch Primer you could use. Always nice to see new metal going back in. 👍
Thanks for the tips. The next panel is much harder to fit and has bolt holes that need to line up. I've painted it in weld through primer already. Cheers
I love your vids, j actually watch Pete c. Pete Anderson and Jason Hill. And couple more. Not many turn down volume when grinding and high level noise. Ear phones in while wife is busy and you get a massive blast of tool work. Please mute of low on edit. Just on high noise work, great work 👍👍👍👍
@@Badgertronix There are more but the basic prior proper planning prevents pretty poor problems will suffice in most cases. Carry on Major, don't think there's a minor in the military anyways carry on Major Morris with the minor. Speaking of minors give the guys a good word four4 me and the Major Mrs two2.
Coming along nicely we've all learned by our mistakes that's wot makes us better...fantastic job
Cheers!

Bravo! Tough welding old metal, take your time.
Apart from the thin area it welded pretty nicely. Cheers

Thanks for the tips. I managed to fill the gap with weld in this case. Cheers

Very happy to be at this point. Cheers
Can't believe I missed this one. I set the bell icon 🤔
You found it now and thanks for watching 😀

Like a surgeon! 🍻
A surgeon who just flunked out of Dr Nick's Upstairs Medical College 😷😂
@@Badgertronix Dang I just put a down payment on his class.
Is there a video 21?
Did ya catch any stray sparks with those knobbly knees at the start ?? Good to see the safety overalls on in the end !!
My safety legs survived another encounter. The overalls were in the wash at the beginning 🤣
Good job.
Cheers!
I see you are working the Seven P's.
I'm only aware of 7 Ps 🤔

318 spot welds so far? =)
I lost count at 318. They're everywhere
Your welds sounded like the lightsabers on Star Wars. Your not afraid to take on some major fabrication jobs.
Hopefully they'll hold together as well as the Millennium Falcon. Thanks Wyatt, learning by doing is the way forward 😊
Great job Jonathan! Usually when I say "what could go wrong?" I get into big trouble LOL you did great though! 👍☺️
Thanks Niamh. I guarantee that I will get into big trouble somewhere along the way 🤣 I'm happy with it so far
I'm not a fan of the saying "Like an onion" because onions usually bring tears.
I'm sure there will be but victory will be mine eventually. Cheers Zig
Cool
A bit of heavy metal and cold chisel from NZ

Whats the part number for the super cheap welding shorts . 😂 Awesome series buddy and nicely done . 👍
I'll send you a pair of the leg parts. They attach to any regular shorts 🤣🤣
