Pandaren have been a part of the lore since WC3, it was inevitable for them to be playable. Also, considering Kung-Fu Panda’s a thing, people might wanna make a custom character after the MC of the films
I love the little 'Warcraft' story detail in this video, the fact that the Horde and the Alliance will always come together when their is a bigger foe to face.
To this day MoP reserves its spot in my heart for the last greatest expansion made by WoW thus far. Legion was alright, but there was just so much beauty, story and imagination in MoP, I miss it dearly.
same mop was really a nice expansion i started play in cataclysm but today expansions is really trash i think will not try shadowlands this game have really bad populations this days
@Nikolas gamer Basically, you click on random videos from 2012 without reading or looking at its title slash thumbnail, huh? ~Well, sounds legit to me. And by the way, Kung Fu Panda 3 is already out since 3 years ago ~What are the odds, right? So surprising! (Nice joke though, assuming that you really are)
Not really. Most people agree that MoP was one of the best expansions the game has had. Even though people were highly sceptical when it was announced.
I’ve been playing this game for years and I still get nostalgic from this expansion. Coming home from work everyday and playing through the zones in Pandaria was so relaxing. People always said it was stupid but I loved taking care of my farm and running around townlong steppes. I would fish for hours with the cranes walking around. People can say what they want about blizzard but at least aesthetically speaking this expansion to me was a masterpiece from blizzard.
3:12, "Why do we Fight? We fight to Protect Home, and Family. To Preserve Balance and Bring Harmony. For my Kind, the True Question is What is Worth Fighting For?" Still Epic.
Watching this video makes water on my eyes. Someone said that Wotlk was the best datadisk, peak of wow storyline...I played since TBC on official server, cca 2 y pause from ToC till FL(cata)..but for me is MoP the best expansion ever....best music, zones, lore, raids....top DPS numbers (in that moment) before scaling everything at WoD. Release of monks, Maybe every 2nd datadisk is much better, dont know about TBC (good, but it was less than 2 years), Wotlk (peak)....but Cata (failture)...then MoP (peak)...WoD (failture)..Legion of course peak and finally BfA (sadly megafailture)....in the end we will never forget on MoP times and that spam of daily quests, fun on Timeless Isle world pvp.
The human and the orc nowadays probably are best friends now, leave the Alliance and the Horde and opened a tavern in Northrend called "Kickass Fat Bear" in homage to the day they met. ( pls Nixxiom do a machinima :3 )
Never noticed how good the choreography is in this one. Just watching the Orc and Human try to apply their own methods of battle but so effortlessly thwarted by one big Panda boi is so entertaining. On a side note, I have always loved the depiction of such deep seeded hatred. Stranded on an unknown island, shipwrecked and with nothing. But still both Human and Orc do not even waste a moment before trying to kill each other. Perfect example of how far back their hatred goes.
Mists of Pandaria was a nice break from the constant "the world is gonna be doomed" feeling all the prior games had. Sure, it felt a little different and maybe even not that "wow-ish" but I personally really enjoyed it.
Lord Dia Celium, chauffeur de taxis d'Imhotep Yeah, like Garrosh and the Sha (Yashj-aar?), but it wasn't the main focus of the game, like that is not the first thing you think of when beginning the questline. For example, look at the starting questlines for BC, WotLK, Cata and WoD. In all of these at the beginning that is the first thing you think of: kill their minions and the main boss or gg.
Not really. We also killed some ennemies of the Lich King, for example. There is even a dungeon where in the end you discover that we helped him to conquer a troll city. In MoP, we fought the opposite faction at the begining, and then we just fight guys that want to conquer/destrouy pandaria.
+HasenDarkness Yes, MoP had a very optimistic flair, not the grimdark atmosphere we usually encountered durcing warcraft. Maybe that's why many people hated pandaria.
***** That i would actually like to see more than a WoW movie. The original Warcraft is before my time so seeing a movie on it would help with my knowledge of a world i love.
Alexander Lewis-White Well so far it's looking promising. It has a good director who has played both the original Warcraft and World of Warcraft as far as I know.
***** You do realize that a 2h+ movie with this kind of animation quality would cost a fortune, Pixar could definitely create a short movie of this kind.
Posting this wherever it seems relevant. I propose Chen Stormstout as a symbol, alongside Mei, as a Warcraft symbol in support of Hong Kong's current rebellion. Pandas are easily a symbol of China's culture along with the question "What is worth fighting for?". Seems like a nice double hitter.
One of the best expansions hands down. No Artifact nonsense, ALT friendly, world pvp or pve farm zone Timeless Isle, Excellent dungeons/raids.. this expansion screamed CONTENT and kissed grinding to the floor where it belongs. MOP was light years ahead of Azeroth in terms of player respect , how they went backwards who knows. Get rid of mission tables, artifacts, covenants.. its no cool at ALL nobody likes it.
I for one really wished I played more. I had a long break from the start of Cata to the end of MoP and I must say, from what I heard from people about playing through this expansion it sounded awesome. The Throne of Thunder looked like it was a great raid :) and the whole Isle of Thunder thing :D
@Chris Anderson So you don't have a phone right ? ;) You don't have clothing ? Are you nudist ? ;) Pretty all things are comming from Asians :D ( pretty sure you are a troll so i'm rickrolled )
@Chris Anderson Is it all asians or did you just say asian even though you had a specific type in mind? I mean technically Russia is half asian which is why some circles consider it Eurasian or Asian in general as opposed to European.
No burning crusade doesn't compare to the atmosphere that mop gives, burning crusade you're on a shithole of a boring planet, in mop you're in a mystical, beautiful land
+LucifusDGOAT Have you played played retail TBC? If you were on the time the dark portal opens for the first time on your server i bet you would feel just as me
The funny thing is this expac was immediately compared to Kung Fu Panda....which is ironic since both turned out to be far better than something with those names had any right to be.
After all these years the last minute of this trailer still sends shivers down my spine. The entire trailer just BREATHES adventure, and then Chen speaking those last few lines and the logo coming up is just so insanely well done. TBH I can't wait for Classic to release. I know I won't spend the time in it like I used to but it'll be great to have that actual sense of adventure again while playing a game.
2:29 to 2:33 is my favorite part of this cinematic. Just... their faces. "Oh..." "Truce for now?" "Truce for now." "*hands over spear* You're gonna need this." "Thanks." *goes back to fighting*
I liked this expansion. People call it childish, I call it amusing because of the saccharine nature of the setting, and because it shows off Varian's character development. And if you look a little deeper, things aren't nearly as rosy as the Pandaren like to claim: There's the remnants of an Old God infesting the land, feeding off the negative emotions of the island's inhabitants and its visitors. Then there's the fact that I had so much fun fighting the Horde in Krasarang Wilds. That place was a constant battleground on my server: Until they added new areas, it was a hotbed for PvP and Honorable Kills. Then there's the lessons it actually teaches. (Yes, you *CAN* learn something useful from video games!) Beware of Pride. Maintain your focus. Savor every day; enjoy every meal; cherish your friends & family. I'm glad of the expansions, and I'm happy there's going to be even more after Warlords. Let's face it you guys: The primary reason why people hate WoW so much is because it's a large and successful game. It's blown the competition out of the water, and a lot of folks remain bitter about that.
I really liked MoP as well. Unfortunately I was quick to judge it when it was announced and didn't play it until it was almost over. Now I'm playing WOD, and while it's pretty, there's literally nothing to do if you don't raid or pvp...
Maniac Komplex Unfortunately true. The thing is, if you raid too much even that gets boring/frustrating. For players who raid, but want things to do on other days when they log in, there's... really only old content. Garrisons were Blizzard's way of responding to player complaints about massive amounts of daily quests ala Pandaria. But now there's really nothing to do. Hopefully the next expansion we will see more current, non-raid PVE content. There aren't even any max level zones/quest chains/story arcs right now. Tanaan won't be coming until 6.2. IMO it should have been present at launch. WoD isn't bad, but it was way too rushed. I'd rather Blizzard postpone their launches like the old days if it meant delivering a product that feels complete. WoD didn't feel complete and still doesn't.
Absolutely true. There's also the fact of people seeing Pandaren as these goofy cartoon characters when if you actually paid attention they were some of the toughest people in the game, and fought fiercely when it called for it. They're like hairy dwarves. I'd go so far as to say Mists of Pandaria is definitely my favorite Xpac so far.
ShiggitySean Wrath will always be my favorite because of the tense atmosphere maintained throughout all of Northrend; the looming threat of the Lich King followed you everywhere you went. But I do agree with you. Pandaren had intense lore and are definitely the toughest out there -- but I think the selling point should have been the Sha, not the Pandaren. Blizzard's mistake with MoP was making Pandaren the selling point, as it prompted many players to not even give it a chance. Even though the Sha were meant to be a mystery until you started playing, if they simply made the selling point the Sha, I think it would have been better received even if a little bit. :(
I miss MoP so much. it was such a good expansion with beautiful aesthetics, lots of content, a new class and a new race. It was when my WoW experience peaked and will live on as my fondest WoW memories.
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that there are people who genuinely hate this expansion. Ok, some people dislike it, that's fine, everyone has their cup of tea. But there are people who genuinely look at the depth and nuance of MoP's story and world-building...and decide they hate it.
The reason why Pandaria gets so much hate is this: Pandaren were a joke. Which led to easter eggs in the games. Ppl at blizzard decided to make joke into serious expan. Player perception was against it and caused it to fail. Not to mention the start of panda land was a mess. Took a few patches for it to be good. It is also worth mentioning that Cata was not well received. So when pandas were announced.... you can see how that would have ticked a few ppl off.
+Bruno Marques to be fair, pandas have always been part of Azeroth since the beginning. There is a panda hero in Warcraft 3, and a brewmaster side quest for thrall.
And before that they were a joke at conventions. Which is why they were included as Easter eggs. This is basic wiki info. WC3 is not the beginning :/ .
My favorite part of this cinematic was how the advertisements and interviews and even blizz con panels set it up. Chris Metzen posed the question multiple times that this expansion was exploring the question of "why do we fight" whether you're horde or alliance. Then when this Cinematic finally dropped, it paints clearly that that's whe wrong question. That the true question that all peoples ask themselves is "What is worth fighting for?". Bombshell moment.
Not really. This was Chen Stormstout, after all. He was probably level 100 before the cap got raised, and if he ever left the Monk class hall these days, he'd be around 120, his old bamboo staff is likely classed as an Artifact by itself, and even his underwear is a Legendary.
Blaze90i So billions of humans murdering each other in World Wars while at the same time damaging the earth's resources and atmosphere is natural? Please, tell me more.
A lot of people made fun of this expansion; "Cause pandas dude?", but 3:05 (and forward) give me chills every time.. sometimes even tears in my eyes.. Shows us how epic pandas are in Warcraft...
After watching Avatar The last Air Bender Chen and Li Li Stormstout reminds me so much of Uncle Iroh, and Prince Zuko. Zuko and Li Li are in a hurry, while Iroh and Chen have a more humble and peaceful view on life, taking things slow.
We all owe Mists an apology. It turned out not half as bad as many expected/wanted it to be, and the only real criticism were from people who didn't like Pandaria or Pandaren. Sorry Mists, you didn't suck half as bad as Cata or WoD. Rest in peace.
+Jennifer Winn That was only at the beggining, later it has been one of the easiest expansion to start raiding. A daily scenario gave you equipement almost worth normal ToT normal gear. The only issue was the legendary cloak, 2 months farming. WoD weren't that horrible if they had the same timetable for patches like it was before, reduce the mythic raid players and do something about being autists in our garrisons.
this is quite honestly the best wow expansion to date. great leveling, great dungeons and raids, it had the best soundtrack of the game BY FAR, and all of this without the luxury of having old lore in it (like illidan in bc, or arthas is wotlk)
John Dillinger well i mean is not that its perfect, MoP has its defects, but i had this weird feeling of redescovering wow. finding out all this new lore was awesome. graphics and animations were top notch (for wow standards) quests were fun and varied, the soundtrack can be epic, adventurous or beautiful at the same time, raids and dungeons were great.
zanzibawrr Its true though. MoP was basically the kick in the ass that WoW has needed since Ulduar. It changed the way the game works for the better, it added options aside from raid or die. It explored almost entirely new lore for the first time. It was a world building expansion, it was the first really, truly expansive addition to the game that had not been seen before in any format. It also handled some extremely dark story lines very well and really laid out the direction of Azeroth for the next three or four expansions. I'm sure plenty of people still have their own favorites but for me MoP is not going to be topped.
Everyone says '' Pandas...WTF is this Blizzard? '' but Mists of Pandaria is best expansion in my opinion.Graphics, musics, new class, new race...Excellent expansion!
The landscape was beautiful. The architecture was beautiful. The music was beautiful. The new models were amazing. The pandaren models were the start of our gorgeous model updates. I loved the voice acting, how each Shado Pan companion had their own dialog.' Everything was so bright, it didn't have that aura of darkness that Draenor and the Broken Isles have where even though there are shiny colors, there's still some sort of heaviness. Even the Dread Wastes, to a significantly lesser extent. The environment had this peaceful, calm thing going on. Then SoO came with its monochrome red-and-browns and made me hate a whole lot of life.
Honestly, that's what made SoO such a great and impactful raid. If you cared at all about Pandaren lore, architecture, or the world they built, Garrosh tore it all down to be replaced with his vision of the world. It was an extremely well crafted raid to go with an extremely well crafted story. tl;dr The reason SoO was ugly and turned everything ugly was by design.
As someone who played mainly Undead, I found the new Model pretty much disgusting. And in general the new models are running strangely compared to the old ones ..
sillymanhaha It was not better than cataclysm. Cataclysm had more content which makes it ultimately the better one. It's just the lore they implemented in Cataclysm was sucky.
This expansion had one thing Warlords of Draenor and Legion were/are somehow lacking: Soul. Everything you did in Pandaria felt great. The music, the pandaren, the zones themselves how they were designed, how they looked and how they felt. Mists of Pandaria was and is the greatest expansion.
@BlazeiX It always will be. Numbers easily prove it. People remember wotlk dearly and there are still thousands of players that play wotlk on private servers to this day. PVP was never as good as it was in wotlk ever again and the pve is timeless due to iconic raids (lich king). You didn't even try to make a case for pandaria, but it wouldn't matter anyway.
@@bogdanbulai4125 I loved MoP, especially the atmosphere and music, but finally clearing ICC in wotlk and seeing the ending cinematic for the first time... No video game experience will ever top that.
I loved this expansion, everyone screams "Pandaaaaas, I hate pandaaaas!!!!" but admit it, Pandaria was incredibly beautiful and the story quite interesting. Also, pandaren can be badass!
i think pandaren monk's are just pure badass , seriously why people can't accept a fighting bear , while there is a walking tauren...poeple tend to jump blindly into the hate train trend
This was probably my favorite expansion. "But the pandas--" Look, they might have taken what was intended to be a joke and made it into the basis for an entire continent, but they ended up making a truly gorgeous land. And the expansion didn't even focus on them that much, but rather the Sha, the Mantid and the Mogu. The raids were great, the stories we were told (particularly by Lorewalker Cho) were memorable, and Pandaria is probably one of the most gorgeous locations I've seen in gaming. So while I eagerly await Warlords, I'll look back fondly at Pandaria. Oh, and to those who say the pandas don't fit in WoW lore? Look at the cow people, the fish people, the bear people, the walrus people, the wolf people, just to name a few, and tell me exactly how pandas stand out among them.
Blizzard truly outdid themselves with Mists of Pandaria... The zones, the music, the atmosphere of Pandaria is AMAZING! The raids are awesome from the beginning to the end and the story line gives so muhc potential for the next expansion ( Warlords of Draenor )... I got only one thing to say to the people who say pandas have nothing to do with the lore - Chen Stormstout helped Thrall establish Durotar and Orgrimmar, and that's only a fraction of pandas involvement in the lore.
MrFoxeran Oh you don't like MoP raiding? What do you prefer? Dragon Soul? Or are you a MUH VANILLA purist? Perhaps a screaming Wrath babby. Yeah lemme tell you about Wrath and all of its brown armor and Attack Power armor.
This expansion doesn't get enough credit for what it was. You had an amazing cinematic that gave me chills. A huge continent to explore . A large amount of content that always kept you busy. This expansion really puts it in perspective on how spoiled we were once Warlords of Draenor released.
I started playing WoW because of this cinematic. I remember everyone shitting on this expansion at the time, but I had so much fun. Never understood why everyone hated it.
imagine quitting during the best expansion WoW has ever seen because you thought pandas would ruin WoW. MoP was the peak of the game content wise and you are wrong if you state otherwise.
2:30 is easly the best part of this trailer, and the expansion in general. just that subtle little joke about how often the "mortal enemies who hate and kill each other all the time blah blah blah" end up joining forces when some third threat shows up, QED, the burning legion, the scourge, deathwing, the iron horde, it's just a long list of "oh for gods sake would you two just become allies already?!"
Well, if you have a spear you are already winning some distance in between you and your foe since the lenght of it is there. Stabbing with a spear from afar is technically better than closing up and fight with a broken sword. Besides, being a soldier and all he should've been instructed in both combat with sword and spear, so he should know what he's doing.
being that the sword is broken there is a good chance it is worn and not sharp. sharpening the stick would make the stick more sharper than the sword and if u manage to stab somebody there is a good chance they will have splinters stuck in the wound which is another reason why its practical
I never realized how much I enjoyed this expansion, until it was over. Maybe because Draenor is a bore compared to it. Regardless I miss this expansion a lot.
+Blue Apple well...draenor itself is gorgeous in terms of its design, but all the stuff they introduced that was so pointless like the garrison and locking flight between a spitefully hard achievement was a total clusterfuck.
+Shocktroll Hi i don't know much about WoW, so a quick question: When you said "until it was over" did you mean Blizzard does not allow players to play WoW MoP anymore?
I can't believe this was from 2012. So many years have passed, but it still feels like a recent expansion. Most of my most treasured WoW memories are from Mists. It was the expansion I found a wonderful guild, made friends I've since met in person and still keep in touch with to this day. I'll always be thankful for it.
This is now considered by a majority of players to be one of the best expansions ever. I'm glad we had something other than typical European medieval fantasy.
And it was considered hated back when it was near the end of its time. Always loved it though. I've been playing since vanilla beta and Mists has some of my fondest memories.
Paul yeah cause no matter what this game will always be hated but still played while current even if it’s a good xpac and then praised and “memba x expansion” later unless of course it actually sucked like wod and most of bfa
I hated it because of the sheer amount of dailys that you needed to do at the beginning of the expansion to even begin raiding that was the time I stopped playing till like 2 months before wod was announced.
+Dhurak57 Yeah, the only zones that were dark were Tanan Jungle, Shadowmoon Valley, and parts of Spires of Arak. Shadowmoon was more like a twilight look, but very beautiful and tranquil. Spires of Arak had that eerie haunted forest look to it, which I enjoyed playing at night the best.
So...anyone else coming back here after that Sylvanas cinematic? War of the Thorns, where the Horde went about murdering innocents despite everything that's happened. I knew Blizzard forgot about Mists of Pandaria the moment WoD was announced, but now it's like they don't even remember the past three expansions. I miss the days when they cared about their story.
We can thank the whole time travel BS... I hated this expansion at first but when I played through it.. It grew on me. I love it now after wotlk, BC, and Cata.
Nah they didn't forget, they thought that the way the Horde identity crisis bullshit wasn't handled well in MoP so they just decided to do it AGAIN and somehow make it insanely dumb.
xuzeh Be careful you must or Blizzard will send you to reeducation camping in China, Blizzard's Glorious Homeland...Praise the Great Leader Winnie the Pooh!
I just posted too. I propose Chen Stormstout as a symbol, alongside Mei, as a Warcraft symbol in support of Hong Kong's current rebellion. Pandas are easily a symbol of China's culture along with the question "What is worth fighting for?". Seems like a nice double hitter.
+Alijamaru the thing is... If draenor happened after cata, people would say cata was good. If draenor happened after bc, people would say he was even better than he was. WoD sux so bad it makes people like anyother thing XD
"I've been asking the same question - am I the son of a panda, the son of a goose, a student, a teacher? Turns out... I'm all of them." oh wait, wrong movie 😂
+Gevito236 Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne introduced the Pandaren Monk , Chen Stormstout (as a kind of joke character for the bonus Horde missions), in July 2003. Kung Fu Panda came to theaters in May 2008. Blizz originally didn't want to introduce the Pandaren as a playable race because they thought the Chinese would take offense.
Placki Plicki So, basically what WoW was since Lich King? I liked visuals, professions, dailies, reputation, leveling and area design, to answer your question.
Nerobyrne Yes, basically what it was since the last patch of WotLK, but pushed to the limits during MoP. Dungeons and leveling were even faster and easier than they were during Cataclysm, which was already terrible. The dailies were more numerous, as there weren't that much of this stupid tabard wielding to gain reputation from what I rememeber. Professions weren't that bad, specially comparing to what happened to them during WoD. Area design was always good with Blizzard. Then it's just a matter of taste. Same goes with music. I have nothing bad to say about that when it comes to MoP or to WoD. The only thing that's pissing me is that the Dev's had more balls to create a more brutal world. Now it's really a fairy tale. BC and Vanilla had some very creepy zones, were fullfilled with empaled skeletons and sick stories of torture. Now there's nothing. PS- It's cool you answered, but to correct you I didn't ask any question though :)
Placki Plicki "Now it's really a fairy tale. BC and Vanilla had some very creepy zones, were fullfilled with empaled skeletons and sick stories of torture. Now there's nothing." Yeah, that'S the only thing that I REALLY miss, I actually liked most of the other changes. Either that, or they didn't bother me too much. I didn't like the changes to professions in WoD, but I liked a lot of other things so it all equalled out. But I wish they would go back to the creepy feeling of the old areas. I felt that MoP had some of that too, with the mist beings and the klaxxi. Maybe you'll like the next expansion more.
Mists of Pandaria, the most underrated game/exspansion that blizzard has EVER released. i mean just look back on how much NEW LORE and SOUL they put in that expansion. u cant beat WOTLK, TBC with something so new with a radical change of elements that Pandaria brought. But MOP just gives me this warm feeling inside of me....and i its unending!
Too bad we won't see any Pandaren/Pandaria related Lore from Blizzard anymore... Because of Panda Joke/Kung fu Panda joke... I mean Pandaren came years before Kungfu panda, and even helping building the so called Ogrimmar... I still LOVE Mist of Pandaria... The Lore, Music, Raids etc... The world seems alive when i played...
+Aggbala Honestly i don't know why many people think TBC and WotLK are unbeatable..yes they were better than Cata and WoD, but definitely not better than MoP. The key word here is nostalgia, Nothing else. I objectively think that MoP is way better than both woltk and tbc combined, it surpassed them in almost all aspects : Lore ( the old ones were brought to the story way better than they were back in wotlk for example), plots, PvP, raids, professions etc .. and visually .. dude it was a masterpiece, beautiful art, flying through the maps alone was pure joy. Blizz reached the pinnacle in MoP and it will be hard for them to make Something that perfet again.
"FOR GNONEREGAN!" "FOR LORDAERON!" "FOR GILNEAS!" "FOR DE DARKSPEAR TRIBE!" "FOR PANDARIA!" "FOR THE LOOT!" "FOR THE ORDER OF THE SILVER HAND!" "FOR QUEL'THELAS!" "FOR DRAENOR!" "FOR THE EMPRESS!" "FOR THE DARK LADY!" "FOR NER'ZHUL!" there is a lot of fors in the warcraft universe lol
soo... the pandarian tryed to force the orc and the human to team so they could understand that they are stronger together? (and make the fight more fun for the pandarian?)
+Name Pretty much. It's a really nice preview of the direction in which the story was going. And now the arc that began in MoP is gonna culminate in Legion, with both the Alliance and the Horde having to band together to save their home. I do hope they learnt well from the pandaren.
I don't actually play WoW, but this might just be the single best trailer I have ever seen. It had everything, good music, epic feeling, awesome graphics and the right amount of humor. Love it!
Do you ever ask yourself why it seems more work is put into the trailers than the game? I know that it's obviously not true but comparing them side by side puts the actual thing to shame
Well, as much as I know, Wow is almost ten years old, isn't it? I don't know much about the game itself, but if you're talking about the graphics, that could be an explanation.
BoarhideGaming Nah, it's not just that the game is old, this has always been the case with Blizzard's games: the cinematics look way better than the game itself. Unlike, say, Guild Wars 2, where the teasers and other cinematics were all made with content generated by the game engine itself, which was possible because the game's actual look and feel are just that awesome.
but everything is getting a huge graphical update with this next expansion pack though, so everything will look better. not released this year better, but not basically over the should WC3 graphics anymore
And don't forget all their gear is red, after getting shipwrecked. And they're picking up random grey items like a sharpened stick and a torn off mallet from a statue. :p they're basically fighting a 10 level higher panda without additional stats from equipment :p
Hard to believe this expansion is coming to an end here in just a month. Patch 6.0.2 drops in just less than 24 hours now. There's going to be a lot of movement away from Pandaria and onto the Black Portal now and UBRS for the event. I still remember launch day sitting in Stormwind in the king's room. I had played the beta but just for about a day or two. Much of Pandaria was still a mystery to me as I wanted to keep it. I remember reading the message that MOP was now live and seeing the rush to Pandaria. I remember how much lag there was unfortunately and because of it I had to turn my settings down thinking it would help. Turning down my view distance added even more mystery to the new land. It almost felt as if this new area was in fact shrouded in mists because of it. The night time in the game also added to it. I remember leveling and at one point in Jade Forest I went to the location where this cinematic took place and turned my view distance back up and saw the forest just like it had happened when the mists were revealed. I took a big appreciation towards this expansion. The music, the characters, the lore, the enemies, the Eastern style theme. I'll sum it up but this expansion was great. Even if people criticize it a lot and make fun of it I can honestly say I hadn't had this much fun in an expansion since TBC. Cataclysm had great end-tier boss fights and Wrath had Ulduar but outside of that I didn't enjoy much. Sure Wrath had scenery but it was nothing I hadn't see already when I played WC3 TFT. All the time I've been flying around Pandaria from the mysterious Jade Forest, to the beautiful icy tops of Kun-lai Summit to the dark, creepy yet gorgeous Dread Wastes to the Gate of the Setting Sun which led into the beautiful heart of Pandaria the Vale of Eternal Blossms (before it was corrupted of course) I enjoyed every minute of it. I'll still come back to Pandaria even in Warlords but all in all I'm glad where this expansion has left off. This expansion was great and people can criticize if they want but this is just my opinion. I can't wait for Warlords after what I've seen so far. Especially since I love lore so much. Warlords of Draenor and patch 6.0.2 tomorrow here we come!
***** I think each expansion has had it's ups and downs but I honestly feel like Pandaria did a lot of things right. Since I posted this I found out even more about Warlords and I've done so much speculating and reading into lore that I'm even more excited now than I was when I posted this comment :) I did the Challenge Modes in Mists of Pandaria so I can always just teleport back to any point of the continent that I want. I'll also be coming back here to farm the world boss mounts of course. That and especially Elegon's mount as well. I still have a lot I haven't completed in this expansion like achievements, getting every mount I want, getting exalted with the Anglers (never did this for some reason LOL) so no doubt I'll still be spending a decent amount of time in Pandaria but all in all I have definitely enjoyed my time here. To this day I still get chills when I climb Kun-lai Summit and I mean actually climb it on a mount, not flying to the very top. Still from time to time I find myself turning off my music and game sounds, turning on the in-game music and just climbing to the top. Seeing all the snow and ice as I climb up and then as soon as I reach the top it becomes peaceful. Here's to hoping Warlords is even better than Mists! :)
At times i feel like i choose the wrong server, despite having friends already on Mal'ganis, but i barely do PvP. I'll admit that i was sceptical when they announced this expansion, but now those feelings are lost in the mists of one of the most beautiful landscapes ive seen in a video game
Its defiantly one of the best cinematic so far. Its the only one that is not death, death, death, kill, anger, revenge. I like that. Its a nice change. The expansion itself was great as well. Amazing scenery, questing is fun and there is a lot of the typical hatred and anger issues. In overall, probably the best expansion so far.

@Maurits I like the Pandaren personally. Pretty cool lore

Well I guess my idea wasn't so original... :'(
+Sterkriger i hope that these becomes canon
Watch the machinima "Bottoms Up" it's close enough to what u asked for
Fun fact: The human and the orc is actually based on the Warcraft 2 box art, where you see a pirate themed human and orc facing each others.
Didn't know that. Cool detail
A human and an orc are drinking at at a bar, and the human says;" So... it was a bear?" and the orc replies: "IN A HAT!!!"

+Kevin Ng Lmfao, I LOL'd. I remember that vid!
HasenDarkness Actually, there was still some villains wanting to destroy the world :p
+Lord Dia Celium, chauffeur de taxis d'Imhotep well the overall feel wasn't END OF DA WORLD. it was more exploring and discovery. A change of pace.
+HasenDarkness Yes, MoP had a very optimistic flair, not the grimdark atmosphere we usually encountered durcing warcraft. Maybe that's why many people hated pandaria.

Grimm K so raid and pvp. otherwise go find a single player game, right?
When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a Kung Fu Panda trailer.

They probably didn't play it period. Just because pandas. (Yeah , that's stupid, MoP was great apart from that whole daily overload)

+TheBoybakalss102 but Mop was Awesome Writing And Lore was epic
Ekvin Saleh i thought so too.
Daniel Martinez Gonzalez End as in end game. As in level 90.
this is quite honestly the best wow expansion to date. great leveling, great dungeons and raids, it had the best soundtrack of the game BY FAR, and all of this without the luxury of having old lore in it (like illidan in bc, or arthas is wotlk)

Me too. Especially near the ending.
The landscape was beautiful. The architecture was beautiful. The music was beautiful. The new models were amazing.
The pandaren models were the start of our gorgeous model updates. I loved the voice acting, how each Shado Pan companion had their own dialog.'
Everything was so bright, it didn't have that aura of darkness that Draenor and the Broken Isles have where even though there are shiny colors, there's still some sort of heaviness. Even the Dread Wastes, to a significantly lesser extent. The environment had this peaceful, calm thing going on.
Then SoO came with its monochrome red-and-browns and made me hate a whole lot of life.
couldnt agree more I hope after legion that we have something like this again something different and refreshing
I just wish the whole thing wasn't all rust - colored .

Wotlk is still superior.
@BlazeiX It always will be. Numbers easily prove it. People remember wotlk dearly and there are still thousands of players that play wotlk on private servers to this day. PVP was never as good as it was in wotlk ever again and the pve is timeless due to iconic raids (lich king).

Claussanta 86 Why do you think Vanilla was the best?
Look at the cow people, the fish people, the bear people, the walrus people, the wolf people, just to name a few, and tell me exactly how pandas stand out among them.
in the books of wow you can read about pandas in wotlk expansion allready :D
Blizzard truly outdid themselves with Mists of Pandaria... The zones, the music, the atmosphere of Pandaria is AMAZING! The raids are awesome from the beginning to the end and the story line gives so muhc potential for the next expansion ( Warlords of Draenor )... I got only one thing to say to the people who say pandas have nothing to do with the lore - Chen Stormstout helped Thrall establish Durotar and Orgrimmar, and that's only a fraction of pandas involvement in the lore.
"The raids were great"
I'm done here.

Writer Shard As a PvPer I had a lot more fun in MoP..........
devtodev Becasue MoP was pretty decent. Better than Cata and WoD for sure.
devtodev Reddit
imagine quitting during the best expansion WoW has ever seen because you thought pandas would ruin WoW. MoP was the peak of the game content wise and you are wrong if you state otherwise.
for my kind, the true question is, "What is WORTH fighting for ?"
thats truly a great question we should all ask ourselves.
For loot and epics!
nice try to look smart , u failed tho.
To get their treasure and girls
To crush enemies, to see them driven before you, to hear the lamentations of their women
+Derenter Lol work for epics? You can get a mythic HFC piece from the shityard with just a few clicks.
*picks up stick*
*sharpens stick using sword*
*put away sword*

*K N O W L E D G E*
Its a broken sword btw
Well, if you have a spear you are already winning some distance in between you and your foe since the lenght of it is there. Stabbing with a spear from afar is technically better than closing up and fight with a broken sword.
Besides, being a soldier and all he should've been instructed in both combat with sword and spear, so he should know what he's doing.
being that the sword is broken there is a good chance it is worn and not sharp. sharpening the stick would make the stick more sharper than the sword and if u manage to stab somebody there is a good chance they will have splinters stuck in the wound which is another reason why its practical
woosh
welp the sword was broken s othat makes even more sense
2:59 this music gives me chills everytime
I never realized how much I enjoyed this expansion, until it was over. Maybe because Draenor is a bore compared to it. Regardless I miss this expansion a lot.
+Blue Apple well...draenor itself is gorgeous in terms of its design, but all the stuff they introduced that was so pointless like the garrison and locking flight between a spitefully hard achievement was a total clusterfuck.
+Max Sidhu dude , garrisons arent pointless ( from my pov and over players )
+Shocktroll Hi i don't know much about WoW, so a quick question: When you said "until it was over" did you mean Blizzard does not allow players to play WoW MoP anymore?
snarrbolax No , it just means that nobody is raiding in pandaria because now everybody is in WoD ( actual expansion so everybody plays it )
+Blue Apple Amen to that!

I have never played World of Warcraft but i would pay alot of money to see a movie of it.
They are going to make a movie of it you know.
Mad Cartoon Yeah, but not animated.
Alex Tygesen
its also going to take place during the first war so nothing to do with wow
They are making a movie called Warcraft, it will focus on Anduin Lothar and Durotan, apparently.
Alex Tygesen It's part animated as it is part real cast. But still it looks awesome to me when I looked at the blizzcon movie panel.:)
I can't believe this was from 2012. So many years have passed, but it still feels like a recent expansion. Most of my most treasured WoW memories are from Mists. It was the expansion I found a wonderful guild, made friends I've since met in person and still keep in touch with to this day. I'll always be thankful for it.
Easily the best expansion ever. Haven't played WoD yet, though.

I give up.

I remember people hated MoP so much, but it turned out to be much better than WoD.
+Tyler Pepper Most importantly it was original. WoD's idea was interesting but it didn't feel fresh, like characters I knew and bosses I've killed.
I love MoP I am doing a 90 twink for it right now
I hated it because of the sheer amount of dailys that you needed to do at the beginning of the expansion to even begin raiding that was the time I stopped playing till like 2 months before wod was announced.
it was actually good :)
Yea i agree the story was pretty good and i didnt make a mistake with buying it however i have Legion now :D
That moment when you realize Panda’s were included in a WOW Cinematic before Gnomes!
the best thing about this expansion is that the zones are LIGHT please light some stuff up it makes it look so much nicer and funner to play
+Smapy I agree...
+Smapy Agree warlords of draneor have that generic MMO darkness.
+Smapy warlord of draenor map are not dark at all they're beautiful
+Dhurak57 Yeah, the only zones that were dark were Tanan Jungle, Shadowmoon Valley, and parts of Spires of Arak. Shadowmoon was more like a twilight look, but very beautiful and tranquil. Spires of Arak had that eerie haunted forest look to it, which I enjoyed playing at night the best.
This is kinda true WoD was just so dark overall
So...anyone else coming back here after that Sylvanas cinematic? War of the Thorns, where the Horde went about murdering innocents despite everything that's happened.
I knew Blizzard forgot about Mists of Pandaria the moment WoD was announced, but now it's like they don't even remember the past three expansions. I miss the days when they cared about their story.
We can thank the whole time travel BS... I hated this expansion at first but when I played through it.. It grew on me. I love it now after wotlk, BC, and Cata.
Yea, I wish we could see pandarens in all cinematics, at least to tell us they still there. It feels like they just disappeared from the game
Nah they didn't forget, they thought that the way the Horde identity crisis bullshit wasn't handled well in MoP so they just decided to do it AGAIN and somehow make it insanely dumb.
The care about it so much that they repeat the story
They had predicted the real world situation in 2019 only to fall for the trap.
left & right uniting aginst communist China?
@@joshuawan7004 yes

Not the trap the rallying cry. Someone has to take the hit to get everyone to come together against China. Their sacrifice is honorable.
I just posted too. I propose Chen Stormstout as a symbol, alongside Mei, as a Warcraft symbol in support of Hong Kong's current rebellion. Pandas are easily a symbol of China's culture along with the question "What is worth fighting for?". Seems like a nice double hitter.
Too many people busy crying over pandas to realize just how wonderful an expansion this was. WoW's best in my opinion.
when i first saw this i thought it was a new and much better Kung Fu Panda movie

After WoD I see you all coming here saying MOP was a great expansion lmao. I feel you.
+Alijamaru the thing is... If draenor happened after cata, people would say cata was good. If draenor happened after bc, people would say he was even better than he was. WoD sux so bad it makes people like anyother thing XD
Can't blame them. WoD was an expansion that just felt so lifeless.
+Alijamaru MOP WAS a great expansion.
I'm a hipster. I knew mop was a great expansion before everyone else.
+Alijamaru MoP was a great expansion, just below Wrath in terms of atmosphere, art, and such. I think it beat Wrath in terms of music.

+Gevito236
Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne introduced the Pandaren Monk , Chen Stormstout (as a kind of joke character for the bonus Horde missions), in July 2003. Kung Fu Panda came to theaters in May 2008. Blizz originally didn't want to introduce the Pandaren as a playable race because they thought the Chinese would take offense.
I think this was the best expansion to date, maybe Legion will match up to it.
+Nerobyrne I hope it does. I'm one of those who hopes to forget about Draenor.
guildwars69x interesting, I actually thought it wasn't so bad.
Why do you dislike it so much?
Placki Plicki
"Now it's really a fairy tale. BC and Vanilla had some very creepy zones, were fullfilled with empaled skeletons and sick stories of torture. Now there's nothing."
Yeah, that'S the only thing that I REALLY miss, I actually liked most of the other changes.
So *that's* what Po's been doing during his off-screen time...
Can't wait for Cinematic Trailer for Warlords Of Draenor!
HAHAHA Hahah
you can say what you want about MoP, this is a freaking awesome trailer

BoarhideGaming
Nah, it's not just that the game is old, this has always been the case with Blizzard's games: the cinematics look way better than the game itself.
If they don't fix the player character text it will all be for nothing. Who could ever read that purple crap I can not understand. :P
This what you get, when you invade a country that is 10 levels higher then you. ( raised cap level )
And don't forget all their gear is red, after getting shipwrecked. And they're picking up random grey items like a sharpened stick and a torn off mallet from a statue. :p they're basically fighting a 10 level higher panda without additional stats from equipment :p
But Cataclysm cap was 85. So really, they're 5 levels lower than Chen. But they used terrible "gear" to fight anyway.
Still, the best WoW expansion. The game has vastly improved from the dark ages of vanilla/TBC grinding when MoP was released.
+Empjori You both are stupid MOP was stupid Cataclysm Is the best expansion ever.
Katherine 85
Cataclysm is still second best. But MoP talent system and content was better.
*****
WotLK was better than vanilla/TBC I agree.
Warlords of Draenor and patch 6.0.2 tomorrow here we come!
i have loved MoP too,
If everyone had the same positive outlook towards the game like you, then people would enjoy it so much more!
***** I think each expansion has had it's ups and downs but I honestly feel like Pandaria did a lot of things right. Since I posted this I found out even more about Warlords and I've done so much speculating and reading into lore that I'm even more excited now than I was when I posted this comment :)
I did the Challenge Modes in Mists of Pandaria so I can always just teleport back to any point of the continent that I want.
Its the Dark Portal!
