Hi! You should notice an elimination or at least a reduction in glare intensity with the polarized option. Without knowing the type of Prizm polarized lens you currently use, you may want to check out one with a lower VLT percentage to reduce eyestrain.
My question is, do the sapphire prizm lenses have iridium technology or it’s unnecessary? Because I need some new lenses for my Oakley jawbreaker, because I scratched the old lenses but they where sapphire iridium, now I m confused???
HI Roland! The term 'Iridium' refers to any mirror application on an Oakley lens. But more specifically, any mirrored lens without PRIZM. Technology. The Prizm Sapphire drops the 'Iridium' in it's name to avoid confusion with it's Non-Prizm counterpart. So you have the Prizm Sapphire vs. Sapphire Iridium lenses, both of which have a solid mirror application.
Thanks for reaching out, Mark! It sounds like PRIZM Trail or Trail Torch would be best. You can check out our lens comparison video here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-trail-vs-trail-torch/ Hope this helps!
Hi Jorge! PRIZM polarized lenses use HDPolarized technology. We think PRIZM polarized are better than non-PRIZM polarized due to the enhanced contrast. Wait, does 'RX' indicate prescription or something? I'm confused. Edit: Nevermind, I found out Rx is a common medical term for prescription, derived from Latin for Recipe. Interesting, I learnt something today!
The problem being that I need a prescription. I do both road biking and mountain biking. I can't afford to buy to set of lenses with prescriptions. Can I use road prizm(the lightest one) for trail riding?

Hi there Joe! The Mad Dog has been discontinued so it is not available with Oakley Authentic PRIZM lenses. However we might be able to make custom SportRx lenses for your sunglasses. The pricing will vary a bit but single vision starts at $75 and progressives start at $215. SportRx just sent in my Monster Dogs for newer prescription lenses. Hope they can do it the right way. They will receive on Friday down in San Diego , I thought you guys had a Co up by San Francisco, no biggie as long as it is done right. Tyler waited on me, what a pleasant guy to speak with. Nice calm friendly guy.
Hi Ethan! The great thing about PRIZM lenses is that they are catered to specific environments. So for Deep Water, PRIZM Deep Water Polarized is definitely your best option. If you live in a sunny environment then a polarized lens is also recommended for driving. PRIZM Deep Water can work there too! But a polarized lens is not always the best for golf because polarization has been known to affect depth perception. PRIZM Golf is specifically designed for the golf course environment and will make the ball easier to track and greens easier to read. You can learn more about PRIZM Lens Technology here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-prescription-lenses/ Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
I've owned prizm RX in Saphire polarized for 6 years. Use them for dailys and on the baseball diamond. Absolutely love the contrast and how greens pop with them. It was like HD lenses. Read great thinga about DWP. How they contrast more etc. So I just received a new pair with updated prescription. Man am I disappointed. The DWP is Flat and lifeless. Greens are flat colors don't pop. I'm going to return and get the Saphire Prizm polarized. Is it just me? Do different peoples eyes precieve these twonlenses differently?
hello, could you help me decide whether i should get the amber or the rose? because i think that the specs are very similar. can you tell me the diffrences of both lens colour? and maybe which would be more beneficial in their respective environments

I'm planning to buy a pair of Radar EV Paths in Prizm Road Jade. My questions is: is there any reason why I can't wear any other lenses for cycling..? I understand the explanation of polarized for certain sports, but can I wear Prizm deep water polarized for cycling if I like the color..?? It just depends on light transmission at that point, correct..?
Hi there! At the end of the day the choice is yours! We typically steer people away from a polarized lens for cycling because it cuts glare. However, in a road cycling environment you may find glare desirable because it will help you spot puddles or oil slicks on the road ahead. PRIZM Road is also fine tuned for the colors found in a road environment whereas Deep Water is tuned up to help you find contrast in a sea of blue. But like I said if Deep Water works for you then go for it!
@@sportrxeyewear Hey, thanks for the info..!! I'm just starting to learn about Oakley's so that's definitely informative. I'll probably buy the Radar EV Path with Prizm Road Jade and a clear lens first, then decide on other lenses later. (If I can take a look at them..)
Thanks for the question! It means that there are many Prizm lens colors that Oakley makes available in prescription. It allows our prescription wearing friends to benefit from this impressive tint tech!
Got my first pair of Oakleys (Holbrooks) about a month ago with the Prizm Daily lens (I think Tungsten) and now I'm hooked. Hi SportRx, thanks for the very informative video. I am looking to get a pair of Oakley Prizm Polarized OO9449 Gibston sunglasses and wanted to know if I can wear them daily like walking, daily travel in public transport, and a day at the beach? Appreciate your help.
Hello! You ceratainly can wear your Prizm Polarized lenses for everyday viewing as well as at the beach. You may find it difficult when looking at your phone and wearing them indoors can prove to be difficult due to the darker tint associated with polarized mirrored lenses but for general outdoors you'll find they provide amazing contrast and color enhancement.
Hi there! PRIZM Dark Golf is a nice option for multiple activities and it is the middle of the road for light transmission. If you would like a darker everyday option, PRIZM Sapphire is always great. Oakley PRIZM Polarized lens technology is fantastic. I own several sport frames and different lenses. The only thing I don’t understand about Oakley and the amazing technology is that even tho it is technologically advanced but why on earth do they not use and include anti reflective coatings on their lenses??? It is used, but only for prescription and with the Stealth Pro … Have they ever given an explanation as of why? 🤔
Running on trails I thought the polarized would make the difference between shadows and flares of sun that pop through the trees more clear - more defined. But they don’t. Is that the polarization? Is prism plain better for varying degrees of dark and light running through the forest?
Hi there! The main benefit of a polarized lens is glare reduction. Glare occurs when vertical sun rays bounce of an object to create horizontal rays-the harsh glare is the combination of the two. PRIZM manages color. It separates the noisy colors while highlighting the colors your eyes are more sensitive to. This contrast boost helps you spot textures and details easier. I really hope this helped answer your question. If not, you can always contact one of our certified opticians here: www.sportrx.com/contact

Hi Leonard! A non-polarized PRIZM lens is suitable for a pilot to use. We advise against getting a polarized lens if you are a pilot because it will make your instrument panel gauges more difficult to read!

Hi Kyle! Thanks for watching! I would say PRIZM Black or PRIZM Sapphire non-polarized would suit you well because these have a grey base(darker lens) but they still offer some PRIZM contrast enhancement. Also, we advise against a polarized lens because it makes gauges/screens difficult to read which is the last thing you want if you are looking at your instrument panel. I hope this helps!
SportRx yes I learned very quick polarized is a definite no. What about the Road prizm lenses? I like the rose tint but will I lose other contrast and colors?
It looks very similar from an outside perspective. PRIZM Black Polarized has a grey base but will still give you some PRIZM boost in contrast. Polarized Black Iridium does not have a contrast boost. Hope this helps!
Please make a video about the Prizm Polarised colours, Like I mean how does the Prizm polarized black look on the frame, similarly for all Prizm Polarised colours.
to summarise this video, a polarised lens cuts glare and prizm manages color, where as a prizm polarised lens does both. This is the single line of statement. Peace.

Check our our PRIZM Polarized video, it may answer some other questions you might have: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-polarized/ Thanks for reaching out!
Can lense scratches be polished out? I used to use VR28 Polarised on my Flak Jackets. I have Flak 2.0's now and was wondering which lense would be closest to the old VR28s?
Hello Steve! Scratches on lenses cannot be polished out, unfortunately. If you're looking to replicate the VR28 lens, then the closest lens by comparison would be the Prizm Dark Golf! Check it out!👉 ua-cam.com/video/-pRbic5nlIs/v-deo.html

Hi there! You can use PRIZM Road for trail riding and we offer custom Oakley authentic lenses in YOUR prescription! If you would like to get a quote or speak to our certified opticians, you can reach them here: www.sportrx.com/contact

can this formula be added to my prescription Mad Dogs? They have old prescription now but I needed a new prescription which I have. So how much to do this on my Dogs, I think there called Mad Dogs, having doubts now,lol...
What would be the best lens for driving, deep water, and golfing.
I went with the everyday saphire polarized theyre great for fishing and driving but i still lose golf balls 😂😂😂

What's the name of the frame depicted above the Prizm colour palette?
Hi Al! We would love to help you out but are not exactly sure what you are asking. At what time in the video does the frame show up?
There is a color palette shown the entire length of the video on the left of Sunglass Rob, and there is what appears to be a drawing of a frame above that palette.
I think he means the prescription lens chart

Sorry what do you mean when you say you can get a prescription on it?
Thanks for the question! It means that there are many Prizm lens colors that Oakley makes available in prescription. It allows our prescription wearing friends to benefit from this impressive tint tech!
Got my first pair of Oakleys (Holbrooks) about a month ago with the Prizm Daily lens (I think Tungsten) and now I'm hooked.

Which lenses should I get if I want to use them for multiple sports like golf, running or just being outside? which one would be the more versatile?

Rob's sporting the Oakley Elmont, which has long since been discontinued, but you may still be able to find a few from private sellers online.

Oakley PRIZM Polarized lens technology is fantastic. I own several sport frames and different lenses. The only thing I don’t understand about Oakley and the amazing technology is that even tho it is technologically advanced but why on earth do they not use and include anti reflective coatings on their lenses??? It is used, but only for prescription and with the Stealth Pro …
Have they ever given an explanation as of why? 🤔
Hi Brian. That's a question to which we're still looking for an answer. Though most likely it's having to do with cost.

How do I know if my Holbrook have prism? Been a couple years since I got them and don't remember if the worker told me if they are or not
Hi Devon! In most cases 'PRIZM' is etched into the lens. If you don't see anything on the lenses, try looking up the SKU/model number. This is on the inside of the temple arm. Should start with OO9102-...When you goggle it the lens and frame color combination should come up.

Hi Kyle! Thanks for watching! I would say PRIZM Black or PRIZM Sapphire non-polarized would suit you well because these have a grey base(darker lens) but they still offer some PRIZM contrast enhancement.
