#Alien
I first saw this movie when i was 19. I'm now 62. Absolutely terrifying (the movie, not my age!).
I saw it first at the age of 8 in 1982. I nearly passed out because of the shock. Today, I love it. ❤️😁
8 or 9 in the early 80s. I saw it on TV...in our basement...alone.
It was a very long walk back upstairs in the dark afterwards...😅
The Alien, is A W.Y. BioWeapon. Everthing was planned from the beggining.
Good scary movies cans out in the 70' s. The one that scares me the most was The invasion of the body snatcher with Donald Sutherland and Jeff goldblum
I was 13. It was my first R rated movie and I saw it by myself. I was scared shitless!!!
I like how the alien looked at the other "perfect organism", then left it alone.
Hahaa! Very good point. mreəœww!
Not only that, he pushed it away in sheer jealousy!
They're both apex predators.
Its reaction: GAHHHH!
Too small to breed.
Those sirens going off are iconic. They are also nightmare fuel. Perfect sound to instill terror 😮
Yes they are. I like the sound. Great way to make it like an "alert alert" situation
The suspense is unprecedented. I had countless nightmares like this and i still keep getting back to this franchise
I swear this movie is infinitely re watchable, as is the sequel!!!....
The last 15 minutes or so of this movie are some of the greatest in all of cinema. Additionally, the whole movie is great, too. So, it is a real charm that the last stretch of the movie itself is probably some of the greatest in all of cinema.
One of the greatest scenes in the history of cinema. No cgi, just practical effects, great lightning, great acting, music, editing and directing. Simply terrifying.
Only Alien (1979) and The Thing (1982) are on the top of my list as the greatest sci-fi horror movies ever created as well:).
American werewolf in London???
@@jamescaliendo1030 That isn't really sci-fi though, right?
@SirPonnd ok yes...thats correct. Definetly horror
@jonathanbirch2022thank you
Event Horizon had potential.
But not as good as the others mentioned.
This is one of those movies that I wish I could have seen on the big screen.
This whole sequence is fucking terrifying because you can feel the alien presence even if you see him only in small moments or shadows, especially at 0:58 here is nightmare fuel
Greatest movie of all time
The best movie I've ever seen. A true masterpiece..
The alien knew the place was about to blow and needed ripley alive to escape .
Big chap was smart
This is a fun interpretation. I never really attributed that amount of awareness to it, but I generally got the feeling that it basically just knew that something bad was afoot (loud sirens and such) and so it escaped to a quieter part of the ship. Your interpretation has a lot of scary implications about how the alien could know that. Does it get knowledge/memories from its host? Is it just incredibly observant (lots of layers of context for it to know that)? Or maybe it can somehow detect what its prey is thinking, could sense Ripley's desperation to get to the shuttle, and deduced that whatever danger she was trying to escape also applied to itself. It even tried to go to sleep like she did! But it's speculation like this that makes me absolutely love this movie, but fail to really appreciate any of the others. They explain too much.
@@helpmeimburning Absolutely. For as much as I love Aliens and its overall influence on sci-fi/action, I feel as though this is still the only film in the franchise where the alien actually feels like something "alien" rather than what's essentially an oversized insect that's part of a hive.
As for the rest of the films, I don't consider any of them to be canon -- _especially_ all of the movies that came out after Alien 3. However, I am looking forward to the upcoming Alien series being made for FX by Noah Hawley; his work on both Fargo and Legion gives me some optimism that it'll be more in line with the original film than any of the others, especially since he's already confirmed that he's bringing back the retro-futuristic look of the first film and ignoring everything introduced with Prometheus and Covenant.
The alien head is seen in the Nostromo shuttle
@@LanceVanceDance84 I recently saw a microscopic organism thAT LOOKED JUST LIKE IT , PROBABLY WHERE THEY GOT IT FROM ......
I was 17YO when I saw this movie at the cinema and I never forgot it. Surely #1 sci-fi movie ever, at least for me.
Can't believe my Uncle allowed me to watch this when I was 15, I was living in Mexico at the time and it was dubbed of course but it was still awesome and of course terrifying 😁
Most bloodthirsty alien < most peaceful cartel member
This movie is so stressful but I keep coming back for more. 😂
Still one of the greatest sequences ever put on film, all these years later. Just absolutely masterclass filmmaking on every level.
The countdown clock should've stopped the instant those rods began their descent.
Ripley should file an official complaint with the company 😅
Well, at least the kitty survived.
She failed to reengage the coolant levers in time.
I bet John Kramer was in charge of that
Alien, Predator, great movie ever.
To be honest, with a few exceptions sci-fi/horror wasn't all that great in the mid to late 70's, and then this movie came along and blew the roof off the genre. Set a bar at a new, ridiculous height that many have still not reached.
Mágica Sigourney Weaver!!!
Asombrosa escena. La podría ver eternamente. Única
The xenomorph knocking over the cat is unacceptable 😡
I didn't remember that part, so I was surprised when I saw it.
no respect.
It was jealousy.
💥
, @@SadAndVengeful, as I recall, the alien stared at it but didn't knock it over in the theatrical cut.
"ALIEN:ISOLATION" replicates this horrifying experience in every way possible, down to the very loud blast of steam and sirens, with a relentless monster always right behind you.
1979 crazy how good the quality is
The way it kicks Jonesy out the way, that felt personal…
One of the best scenes in horror movie history, without any doubt. The intense fear and pressure she goes through is so easily transfered to the viewer. A piece of art this movie.
It would be funny if she got in the escape pod and the alien was sitting in the chair, strapped in, and said, 'Time to go, no? We cool?"
"It's six months to earth, you got half a carrier full of cat, it's deep space, and I got a retractable inner jaw."
"Hit it."
In the original script the alien kills Ripley, sits down in the chair and records a message to earth in Ripley’s voice.
@Swampsong117 Which version, link? In at least one of the 1978 scripts the Alien is blown out of the shuttle, same as the finished movie.
@@nicholasstathoulopoulos4744 It was an idea Ridley Scott wanted for the ending of the film but was shot down by Fox as they wanted Ripley to survive.
@@Swampsong117Good that they did it. It would be absolutely ridiculous, like the Jaws shark running on shore with a chainsaw
This is my favorite scene of the entire movie. The pure… anxiety with the alarms is AMAZING!
I love the practical aesthetics of alien, it really set the standard for the industrial and militarized look that inspired sci fi. You can see it in avatar starship troopers etc ....
One of the greatest horror movies of all time. The only way to properly watch it is at night with all the lights turned out! These movies are the only thing that has ever given me nightmares or questioned a shadow in a dark room or hallway.
That alarm would be an awesome alarm clock.
The strobe lights and the sweat.
My favorite scene in the movie Alien, iconic!
Gotta save the cat!
Scariest film ive seen, gave me nightmares when i was younger
I love 0:48. Ripley looks like she can't take it anymore but she's forced to push through anyway.
agreed, that shot in particular shows pure terror and desperation. She wants to scream but knows she has to stay quiet so as to not be found. She can only look intently and move slowly away.
@@josephmorris7447 True, it reminds me of similar (but not quite as extreme) moments in my life. It's like your brain shuts down emotions temporarily to make more space for survival instincts and a deliberate, machine-like thinking to get you out of a problem. Like when I caught my hand in a in industrial machine but then pressed the release button in a robotic manner with my other hand the next second.
Alien and Cape Fear with Deniro are the scariest movies I’ve ever seen.
The cat got yeeted 😂
yeeted? 🤔
It Looks like the Alien was debating what to do with the cat, then just went “meh” and tossed it lol
I wish it had taken the Cat with it into the shuttle 😂
Ripley, once everything goes fully south, sounds exactly like me when I'm driving behind....pretty much anyone...!
So good!!
Man she is always in the most stressful situations💀
If she was a coffee she'd a be a stressacino ☕️
When she thinks she is safe and in the escape pod, then realizes it's in there with her... Wow!!!
"mother I've turned the cooling units back on, mother" THERE'S AN ALIEN BLOCKING MY ESCAPE, SHE SHOULD HAVE ADDED THAT TOO
If you haven't played Alien Isolation on the PC do yourself a favour
Yeah by not playing it 😂
@@simoneorioli For real, it's like being Ripley in this clip
Alien isolation is so damn good.
Playing issolation so good so scary
Never played it myself. Too scared
I see that this is the dircut version.
Shit I was just born when this movie come out 01/04/79
You can never leave a cat behind
says who?
There is a theory that the cat was helping the alien
Of the characters in the series, Jones remains the smartest.
You can take it. I believe in you. :)
Love this scene, but the little guy crouching in the corner at 2:56 is very distracting lol
All this 4K, 8k, 10k crap is great... but at 1:50, you can ACTUALLY see that they COLORED THAT INSTRUCTION SIGN WITH MARKERS!!!!!
But why did Ripley run back to the controls to turn of the self destruct command? She knew time was already running out. By the time she saw the alien, she had 8 minutes left (3 minutes to abort sefl destruct and the 5 minutes to actual self destruct). I mean she could have just hid in a corner or a closet and could have waited for it to pass by. Plus she had a flamethrower unit
Всё таки 1-ый Чужой самый атмосферный и самый лучший.
Any Alien experts on here? Why did Ripley try to shut down the auto destruct? I think it has something to do with Parker and Lambert getting killed before they got the coolant they needed but I don't understand what she would need it for. Help me if you can.
Desperation I think
She turned on the destruct and tried to get to the shuttle, but the Alien cut her off on her only escape root. She couldn’t go any further with that thing around the corner. So she had to turn back and terminate the self destruct in order to buy time and find another way to get the creature off the ship. However, she was too late in stopping the destruct sequence. She had no choice but to abandon ship and go toe to toe with that creature.
Hope that makes sense
If the alien knew, why did it scare Ripley off the first time she made a break for the escape capsule? It needed her to stay alive so she could operate the Narcissus.
Nah! I think it was seeking silence and solitude
Please god, don't let Cameron's universe to happen ever again 🙏So we can get Alien: Isolation 2.
Amen! It’s been 10 years
What happens to me when im hurrying to work, but I'm short four seconds to clock in on time...😢
If I'm not mistaken, in the book, at the end of the clip when Ripley is headed towards the white corridor, the Xeno drops from the ceiling and she gives it a blast with the flame thrower. Of course it survives ans finds it's way to the lifeboat.
I always had just one question about the first movie,, why did the Nostromo have an escape shuttle that only accommodated one person? They should have had several shuttles all ready to take all the crew plus extras,,,
The ship could take three, not just one. After Ash, Ripley said theyd take their chances in the shuttle, revealing how many could fit.
Yikes.
Why Ripley didnt use the flamethrower?
i would just end it then and there if left alone with that thing :)
the hassle is just not worth it :))
I hope alien romulus is as good aa this
What? You never learn?
it will be another stupid teenage horror movie
It’s going to be about pronouns 😂😂
Why did it slap Jonesy's carrying case? 😁
Why not? 🙄😏😁 You examine everything small and new, too. 😉
Big Chap is a dog lover
Wow! Dicut I guess. Guess the alien didn’t want to get scratched
I always figured that it was curious, and that was part of its way of figuring out what it was dealing with. Other large predators, like lions and tigers, will do similar stuff. Kinda like giving a dog one of those chew toys with a treat inside, lol.
Vindictiveness maybe?
Please save the cat...
Whatever happen to Jonesey the cat?

Activities oriented on not accented correct attitude to representatives of group of alive being, meaning some work of type that can be described as enemy destructive and based not on understanding of object behaviour, but oriented on revenge, or racists connected activities, and any kind of attitude that can be detmined as harmful for no reason, meaning same attitude even to won social group, make specific changes of entity. Brain, either body differences are connected to disharmoby with nature around, where any object is part of it. Thus, such parts of changes bring not harmonic difference in entitty, between such centers in brain and body, and more normal ones.
- Intellectual activities and coordinations have conflicts inside and between.
So it brings changes of neck mechanismes, for examples. I can point on it by speech etc. making growth of discoordination. Changes you can see by tones of skin and more, having parallel lines, when it is enforced.
It is so, as organism changes colors in case of conflict, trying to find soe resolving through contrast optics as well. As it does while renewing organism elements, as it brings some disbalance as more as more differences to other elements or within element. Also strange inverse activites raise up disharmony. Like you do something for no reason, or in opposite direction. It can be very simple thiing.
- Cats and tigers are very not bad specialists in it. And their colors oriented not simply on hunting.
Their colors enforce discoordination on deceased "aliens:, becoming enemy for themselves, own groups. Tones of hairs, skin of cats is very specific. So I use them a little as it is simplier... 😏
Cats feel in me abilities of much higher level. It is dangerous, but they look for a safety. Dangerous - because erroneous behavior brings reaction. And cat understands that object is more complex etc.
So cats like me.
- Deceased "aliens", not all of them are bad, change behaviour of social group, disharmony with growth bring difference in behaviour of group to not stabilized psycho. As such object can be manager. So it is spread more, with bigger influence.
Stabilizing of behaviour, or growth of danger towards some dangerous knowledge, bring separation of object with indicating him/her by deceases that appear without accordance to conditions these decease appear naturally.
I like to eat different food. Even with big wuantity of biological, and not only, toxigens. It requires some adapting in complex situations.
- So my attitude to deceased objects is funny and very simple. As my immune system raises up changes of "consuming type". 😏
To social groups and more...😏
А сигареты и пиво но

They aren’t supposed to be, shes fighting for her life. This is sci-fi horror not a porno, if u wanna get off go find real material instead of bringing down women for good acting.
@asher1134 perfectly said. Having said that I think she's very attractive
The sexiest piece of cinema ever (well, apart from Mr Verhoevens showgirls swimming pool scene lmao) acted out also by one of the sexiest women ever
Why is that swimming pool scene scary to u? 🤔
