You guys always make My day 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Hi 😊 Thank you so much for covering Baldwin IV 😊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

-Baldwin IV
:)
That’s from a movie
@@Cooz. We know.
@@rsr789 do you always speak for everyone?
@@Cooz. Do you always presume to know more than the general audience?
@@WhiteWolf1980 I didn’t presume that at all, I stated a fact. I didn’t say they didn’t know it was from a movie. You must be great at parties
“A King may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.”
― King Baldwin IV
kingdom of heaven
Edward Norton quite literally disappeared in the role of Baldwin IV. I had no idea he even played him in Kingdom of Heaven until after viewing it. He was the best part of the whole film.
A fascinating historical figure, King Baldwin IV.
Thanks I did not know Edward Norton played Baldwin in kingdom of heaven. I really don’t know how I did not realise it was Edward Norton
It actually was Alec Baldwin. Edward Norton is a pseudonym
@@roytore5062🗿
@@roytore5062you know the first rule of fight club? DO NOT SPEAK OF BALDWIN!
@@shable1436 fight club was great. “Edward” and Leo Dicaprio did a fine job
I like how you clearly keep up to date with social trends. Baldwin is all over my tiktok at the minute
I remember seeing my UA-cam shorts page filled with edits of him a few months prior. They were epic.
What you talking about? He's been trending for months
Shall I pray and hope people get Christ-pilled?
Sad to see the movie only get popular because of TikTok phonk edits.
TikTok sucks. At least here you can bet that you’re getting actual history and not just some schmuck claiming Baldwin was like the first reptilian and their 28th great grandfather or some crap 😂
Just watched Kingdom of Heaven the other day. One of Edward Nortons best roles.
Completely, he appeared less than 30 minutes throughout the movie yet completely captivated the viewers.
@@tianx9275 you don't even see his face on top of it.
Absolutely love the movie ánd Edward Norton, but calling this one of his best acting is a bit of a stretch imo..
I'm going to have to watch it again now!
So did I, it was the 3rd time. Such an epic movie!
Ultimately, despite his youth and illness, Baldwin was very much a respected and effective ruler for the period. If anything, his resilience, despite his debilitations showed courage, commitment and devotion to duty. Something he pretty much carried out until his death.
When you don't want to do something because you feel ill, just remember that Baldwin won wars and protected an entire Kingdom from a larger than life army for over 23 years while he suffered from Leprosy... and he never complained
feeling ill is a valid reason to rest. I'm not diagnosed yet, but I likely have some autoimmune condition (maybe lupus) and I feel ill more often than not. when I feel especially ill, forcing myself to do things anyway causes me to get so much worse - I end up in bed for a week straight
@@niki_0107
They say a lot of autoimmune conditions start in the gut.

I appreciate how your videos take into account the possibility of bias in various historical documentation.
Everytime he says "Issjue" I remember how royal proper english sounds.
Great series!!
❤ love it as well 😍🌄🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Godfrey of Bouillon
King of Jerusalem, one of the leaders of the 1st Crusade, but also culinary genius, most of his fortune coming from his invention of Bouillon Cubes, some years prior. Though his reign was eventful, he's most remembered for his delicious addition to culinary history.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
The passage quoted from the Book of Isaiah is a prophecy about Jesus
I was literally about to say that. It has zero to do with leprosy.
I love how you just you do research and you know what you're talking about. I love that that about this channel.
This is a brand new video...
Thanks for this amazing program
Poor, poor man. How he must have suffered. Brilliant video, thank you 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Baldwin was such a freaking badass 💪
Thanks For this! Another amazing documentary 🔥🔥🔥🔥
How do you know it just came out 5 minutes ago 😂
@@TheBreechieIt's brand new.
Having seen 'Kingdom of Heaven' and it's proud representation of Baldwin I feel he if not having been compromised by his sickness would have surely presented a more present alliance toward enemies of Christianity in Jerusalem. Wish Baldwin had more support.
Why? People were treated better under medieval islam than medieval Christianity.
@@nickscurvy8635not true
@@paul8129 yes it was true. A Christian or jew living under islam was orders of magnitude better off than a muslim or jew living under christianity.
@@nickscurvy8635Proof?
@@nickscurvy8635 that is no true. The crhistians did a lo for people and they didnt take salves, some people were kill true but they let go to most to the capture. On top of that they didnt kill women and children the muslin did.
Wish I had been taught this history at school
Been looking forward to this one!
i admired him for his wisdom and honorable personality
The young king mastered horse riding despite gradually losing sensation in his extremities and was able to fight in battles until his last years. Leprosy precluded Baldwin from marrying. He hoped to abdicate when his sister, Sibylla, married William of Montferrat in 1176, but William died the next year
brilliantly well done as always. Thank you.
Very well done. Thank you.
Despite many errors and absurdities in comparison with true history, in Scott's movie Kingdom of Heaven the best part was now Edward Norton played the role of this great, unlucky young king...❤
Anyone ever watch the directors cut for ‘kingdom of heaven”?? It was so much better
Was waiting for this!
Excellent & precise narrative..thankyou 👍
It still amazes me these videos are free

Great stuff as usual from People profiles
Superb! A legendary figure. 🙂
Well done. Thank you. So much good information. That was the Horns of Hatin, no?
I think it's safe to say that his wasn't the only time in which monks wore body armor. Far from, sadly. Id be willing to bet that this very day somewhere there's holy 'men' relying on more than gods favor to keep them safe.
i loveeeee how quick you are with these vids i watched the movie the other day and was disappointed it wasn’t about baldwin based off the tik toks i watched but so so glad this is out now
I'd be embarrassed to admit to watching TikTok. Sad how so many adults can't see it for what it is, let alone allow children to use it. These are future useful idiots, so not much hope for humanity really.
Thank you!
Yet another great video.

With Orlando bloom as one of the knoghts of the Templar

Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁😀
Its a very bittersweet story this is my first time hearing about him, but despite his illness, he was able to rule the kingdom but, it cost him dearly of Jerusalem but, that was also the other countries as well when he was trying to send aid to Europe but, sadly they were fighting amongst themsleves but, if they came sooner it would gave Baldwin to push he needed to rule the kingdom.
Thank you for this sophisticated well detailed documentary.
Thanks for ❤Beautiful ❤amazing ❤ History ❤
"The quote about keeping one's soul is a powerful reminder of personal responsibility and virtue, even when faced with the influence of power."
One of the most underestimated figures in medivel world, should've he live longer, the calamity at haitin would've been avoided.
Yes, the plagued Baldwin IV were, similar to King Alfred, or the brave William Marshall a righteous hero and should have gotten at least ten more years. Then, his nephew would have been protected, have learnt much of his future responsability and carry on the family 🌼😥
The UA-cam algorithm has been preparing me for this day

Still waiting on one about Philip Augustus
Oh yes !👏👏👏👏👏
Very interesting historical character
Bro, Next video on John D. Rockefeller please 🙏
Probabilities lead to many outcomes. Had he reigned long and stopped Saladdin if he wasn't sick? We don't know. What we know is what happened and how it happened for the most part.
🏴🇬🇧💪🏻🙏🏻 Excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I believe his ability as a warrior is undeniable and had he not been ill he would have been even greater.🙏🏻.

I loved this video can you do a profile on Enrico Dandolo next he was the blind dodge of Venice who lead the sack of Constantinople in his late 90s during the 4th crusade
WE NEED AN ASSASSINS CREED GAME WITH HIM
The passage read about leprosy being a punishment from God actually has nothing to do with leprosy. That comes from Isaiah 53 which is a messianic prophecy. Verses 3-4 (which were read) speaks of how the messiah would take on the sins of his people, and the following verses up until the end of the chapter only highly emphasize that point, it was a messianic prophecy about Jesus, not leprosy.
Finally
Do one on Margaret Thatcher

Baldwin IV - The Leper King
How does a child have leprosy and get pinched hard and fall and get banged up as kids do but then heal and have no visible symptoms?
Sometimes people can be asymptomatic to certain diseases but, can spread it to other people.
Numbers 12:10
And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
Exodus 4:6
“And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.”
man the crusades were cool
He was a better man than me.Religion, always ends in tears.

Please do abraham Lincoln !
Despite his physical limitations, he had the heart of king.
A disabled King, who was an expert general. Story lost to time, and because the hate many people have for Christians. Make no mistake. This man was no joke. Too many people view the disabled as incapable of thought.
The greatest ever❤️
I heard he got his name because he was a really good jumper....Oh wait, you didn't mean the *LEAPER* King....
Idiotic comment!
22:28 my teaanage self... hahaha 😆 😂 😆
I was Baldwin IV in a previous life.
When I was 16 I won a Great victory 🙌🏼
The verse from Isaiah 53 is a prophecy foreshadowing the coming of a future Messiah and gives the reader a picture of what this Messiah will be like. It's not a description of leprosy.
Make a video on Mikhail Bakunin
It is said that Henry Bolingbrook/Henry IV suffered from leprosy.
It is an irony that Richard 1 England and king St Louis France partitioned the sick man of Europe Ottoman Turkey's Levant empire over 700 years in 1917.

Crusade means convert or die.
Jihad is convert or die
Crusade is keep the holy land belonging to Christian
You talk about Islam…
You can say France instead of Western Europe 😉😉
I really tried to watch the whole thing, but the fact that the images don't match the story makes a big difference. A lot of us have attention deficit and the droning of the narrator combined with the lack of relatable visual material makes this format untenable.
I'd recommend looking at the story-telling format of Kings and Generals, which is much easier to follow along with since their visuals are telling the same story as the narrator.

✋🏾🙂↕️ its ok guys, I made it here
So Kingdom of Heaven was real😂
Indeed , and remember your soul is in your keeping alone
Are the bald wins decendents from them? Hmmm
It’s crazy how the new generation is becoming Privy to this classic film.

Are today’s depictions of Baldwin frowned upon by non-Christian groups due to the nature of the crusades and its divisions between Muslim and Christian faiths? I know while they were adversaries, Saladin did have great respect for Baldwin but is there a chance that Baldwin would be seen as xenophobic or Islamophobia today? I’m a teacher and would like to teach the crusades but want to be educated on this so that I do not offend other’s beliefs.
Idk about “offended”, but I wouldn’t want my child being taught about the crusades from a point of view that doesn’t encompass their entire scope. We talk about them like they were some noble cause, and it’s interesting to learn the reasoning and culture behind that, but the reality isn’t noble at all. They were holy wars designed to steal land they had no right to, by slaughtering innocent men, women, and children in the name of a supposedly forgiving and loving god. They stole and destroyed priceless cultural artifacts of Islam, then made up stories pretending they were actually Christian artifacts so they could rationalize the pillaging. Muslims were infinitely higher educated, yet the Christian world decided they were dumb heathens worthy of death. They wanted complete cultural extermination. The only way I can see covering this subject appropriately would be over several lessons. Idk what grade you teach, but elementary school is probably too young to grasp the nuances of this subject.
