I need more rationale and research on how you’ve concluded the emotional and rational brain are “complete nonsense”. You’ve made an assertion without backing it up with evidence?

LOL. It isn't my conclusion. It's the conclusion of 4 decades of the latest neuroscience. Please refer to #predictiveprocessing #activeinference #theoryofconstructedemotion for details. That would be the work of Lisa Feldman Barrett, Andy Clark, Mark Miller, Karl Friston, Maxwell Ramstead, Ruben Laukkonen, and many , many more. In fact, the way Lisa Feldman Barrett says it is this: "Modern neuroscience has shown that the so-called limbic system is a fiction, and experts in brain evolution no longer take it seriously, let alone consider it a 'system.' Scientists inspired by outdated information think the amygdala is under the control of the cortex and cognition." In addition, "when you have an experience that feels like your so-called rational side is tempering your so-called emotional side * a mythical arrangement that is not respected by brain wiring* you are constructing an experience of 'emotion regulation'." I could go on, but it's time for you to do your own homework now.

@@LeahBensonTherapyTampa you know if you're goal is education, then being rude af online is not going to help you accomplish that goal, regardless of if your views are correct or not. As a therapist, i thought you would be aware the importance of operating with compassion and empathy, instead of putting people down or mocking them for falling prey to the same theories you did and then having questions about it (also, it was a really vaguely worded thing you said is "complete nonsense," and this person has every right to ask for clarification without getting rudeness from you, the supposed caring educator). I would never want a therapist who doesn't understand that and instead is snappy and defensive. i hope you reflect on that.

@Moonberriess - I'm a therapist in my office. Nowhere else. Come at me with demands for more and insults to what I've offered, and you'll get clapback. I may be a therapist, but I'm not a doormat. You can file that under the "modeling self care" lesson.

@@MoonberriessI’m glad it wasn’t just my perception that it was an unkind response… The most interesting part is that I genuinely was confused and curious, I had no intention of coming across as demanding, but it wasn’t worth a back and forth.

@reesewitherfork6142 - It came across as demanding. Note that I have delivered many gentle, elaborate, and generous responses to other people who asked politely for engagement.

There’s no need to be condescending with the “lol”. I didn’t say it was your conclusion.
I was curious about the assertion you made and not presenting, in this video, how you got to that - like mentioning what you put in your reply here.
I was interested in more information because I didn’t have enough to search. This was the first video of yours I watched, so I was confused.

You literally said, "...how YOU'VE concluded..." But now that we're clear, I wish you an enjoyable journey discovering the 21st century neuroscience. Can't put everything in one video 🤷🏼‍♀️

You’re right. My mistake, I thought I only said assertion. Regardless, you’ve still come to a “conclusion” …based on research you’ve come across, no? I didn’t expect everything in one video, hence the question. 🤦🏼‍♀️
This has become a bit of an exhausting interaction. I won’t watch videos in the future, problem solved for everyone. Thanks for your time.

@reesewitherfork6142 - It wasn't a question, it was a demand. "I need more rationale and research..." Had you actually asked a question, I would have answered completely differently. Swat me with a demand, and I laugh and set you straight. Be well.
