    I like that House talked to the kid as a patient, unlike everyone else who talked to her as a kid.

      Not just a patient, a person
      As opposed to naive property
      He probably wouldn't have changed her mind much, certainly not lasting, but it gave her a drop of autonomy back, letting her know it truly was her choice

    After watching the entire episode with that amazing character, not to mention actress Sasha Pieterse, I'm sure all of us were choked up with that discharge exit scene! I know I was.

      I prefer to think that when the camera cuts away from him and the little girl, and focuses on Cuddy and Wilson for a little while, that he did hug her a little bit. You can see it in his eyes, he was totally melted.

      This was the most impressive thing about this whole show....the characters were almost always incredible....actors mostly nobody knew.....

    It’s never easy to make that kinda decision at any age, but at 9 it’s extremely much harder.
    Many children have to go though this ever day and it’s never easy on one anyone when it doesn’t work out right

      Any child who has something limiting their life, if they will be spending over 30% of what’s left in medical treatments then it’s definitely not fair to let them live

      @@almightyk11 I will be smoked as sticking my head in the sand, I try to go as I can’t come close to understanding any of it. I can only tell you it wasn’t too long ago we thought the world was flat and witches were burned at the stake. For me, and this is my proof, my life works very well with God in it.

    You know, it doesn’t happen often but it’s so interesting, and obviously written that way, how kids are almost always the ones who thank house and show their gratitude in such sincere ways.
    It reminds me of that time they talk about how Wilson always gets gifts from his patients in gratitude and house doesn’t get any (or very many)

    Wilson tells the mother,"If the clot's there and it's operable, we go get it and Andy walks out of here."
    I've had a lot of surgeries. The hospital never lets you walk out, they always make you leave in a wheelchair, they won't let you walk out because of insurance reasons.

      depends on where you live, and what your condition is, i just walked out of hospital the other month after getting heart related surgery, but since my legs are fine and all vitals are okay they were okay with just releasing me as is, under the condition i dont drive myself due to leftover medicine floating around in my bloodstream, wouldnt call germany a third world country either and ive certainly been delivered by wheelchair to the front door before too, all a question of how the patient is looking healthwise, theyre not gonna put me in a wheelchair if i go in for a broken hand, but if i can walk worse than house due to bruised thigh theyre gonna insist on it

    Great clip. However I missed seeing the actual perfusing the circuit, for me the most tense sequence in the entire series. (But it's OK, I own the whole series and just rewatched the entire episode.😀)

    Hallucinating is horrible, i cried in my hallucination my mom was getting mad at me for shouting 😭 and i couldn't do it anymore. I just want my real mom 😢, to sing to me her lalaby.

    Very touching. House tries to maintain that veneer of offishness to protect himself because, alert the media, he really does care. He treated her like a person deserving of the right to choose, not a child with no voice facing a horrible situation. Cancer in children is another reason, among the many, that I know there is no god.

    She takes a lot of medication, and apparently the insulin or whatever was in that needle made her start to hallucinate

    Because “House, M.D.” did medically check what its writers wrote, and because I’ve heard the horror stories about chemo, I would either use natural remedies to shrink tumors to the point at which an oncological surgeon could remove them or just go on hospice as soon as possible. I would rather die from cancer than from chemo.

      They show extreme chemo doses. It doesn’t always need to be like that. Check your survival chances, if it is any less than 10% I wouldn’t get chemo.

    Some people are not ready to call it quits with a progressive disease . They will take the risk of whatever it takes to keep going . Sometimes it works out . Patients know when to say enough .

    Her head hair is gone but her eyebrows are not. Does that happen with chemo since eyebrows grow more slowly?

      Eye brows would usually go but the actress shaved her heads. Everyone saying she had cancer yes she did but years prior so they shaved her head for this role and probably didn’t think about the eye brows before being too far into shooting

      It really depends. In some patients, both eyebrow hair and scalpal hair go.
