      The LORD loves His people! He PREACHED through me in the Tenderloin in the early 90's. The folks there threw bottles at me in return for the love! Some slapped my Bible from my grasp...(MANY times, till the cover was ruined! The LORD had me cover it to match outfits He taught me to make. One man said, "Watch! Everything she wears matches her Bible!" They never attacked it again!) In the Tenderloin I was threatened with a baseball bat! But nothing could by any means hurt me! After nearly a year, the LORD ended my stint, but sent a man He'd saved in Folsom prison to continue the work. I met him! As I was drinking tea in Woolworth's a lady said, "Hi! I want you to meet somebody! He preaches RIGHT where YOU used to preach!" He sat down with me and told me GOD had saved him and filled him with the HOLY GHOST in prison, then took him to Jones and Goldengate after I left! Even now, GOD is not finished with His people! Expecting a MIGHTY REVIVAL to break out in the skid rows of America! IN THE NAME OF JESUS! ST JOHN 3:16! 🙏🏼🙌🏼❤️✝️❤️

      she still a trash ass mayor. Taking pictures with well known pimps drug pushers and tells the police to not do anything to get homeless off the streets. Everyone knows by now SF is camouflaging meth cookers and dealers as homeless people. SF politicians and it's residents have known of this since the 80s. It's all a cover up to keep people buying drugs and keep them under the illusion of control. All SF residents like to have this youth minded drug abusing mentality because they never grew out of fitting in. Everything that goes on in SF is based on keeping up with the latest fads and trends. There's not a on switch in SF peoples brain that says grow up the party is over. YOUR NOT 15 ANYMORE.

      but but ... according to the Mayor's office, stats don't lie, she must be doing a good job - burglaries are down in the past couple of years thanks to her initiatives? Hmmm ... like defunding and restricting the police, ignoring the security of large numbers of small and large businesses. A huge number are abandoning ship, shutting down or leaving the city and in some cases State altogether. Doesn't that also mean that the number of potential targets of crime are no longer there to be robbed? Similar claims are being made by Oakland's mayor. Here's the real reason burglaries are down in SF (and Oakland), they are just going up elsewhere in the Bay Area as the criminals widen their areas of operation. Personal robberies, vehicle theft and home invasions on the other hand continue to rise!!!

    • @PhilipAtterbury
      @PhilipAtterbury 7 місяців тому

      Exactly. They need to get moved to places with a lower cost of living. There is zero chance a homeless drug addict in San Francisco is magically going to turn their life around overnight and somehow be able to afford a $2500+/month studio apt; however, if they get sent to rural Utah to work on a ranch it is a much smaller leap to be able to afford a $350/mo bunk as they work their way back into society.

    The city has always treated the Tenderloin as a containment zone. This is not new.

  • @pcrealty
    @pcrealty 7 місяців тому +3

    What is happening in the Tenderloin is unrepairable and overpopulated, which is the major cause for the deterioration of Union Square. Homelessness / drug addiction is not an easy fix, mental institutions and prisons are at full capacity and costly. Drug cartels had succeeded in being the only ones to benefit from the sale of narcotics and now the mega millionaires, however our legal system is limited, and cannot prosecute or conduct investigations due to constitutional rights of unlawful search and seizures. Government is overwhelmed and cannot stop the smuggling of drugs to America. Americans like to feel good and cannot tolerate pain, consequently wishing to get high all the time. USA is a high-pressure society, not everyone has the self-assurance to pursue their dream and fail, resulting in criminal activities, mental illness, or drug addiction. Unfortunately, overdoses or poor health is one of the ways of shrinking their existence, it's sad, but it is the truth.

      The rest of the "developed" world has solved this problem. First if you use drugs on the open you go into prison or treatment facility. Then living on the streets should be illegal. It's totally nuts that the police allow people live on tents on city streets! But yea they need to live somewhere so we should build more social housing.

    • @PhilipAtterbury
      @PhilipAtterbury 7 місяців тому +1

      How is it “their city too?” Do they pay taxes for the street cleaning, police, infrastructure, fire department, or hospitals? Do they look out for fellow citizens and property owners? Do they contribute to commerce and social activity? Do they support local athletics and arts? These people are struggling and need to go where they will have the best chance at survival, recovery, and reassimilation. Tough love is infinitely more valuable and effective than ignorant coddling.

  • @mkvisini

    This is useless litigation. EVERY large metropolitan city has at least one, if not more than one, area that is used as a containment zone. Otherwise, they would not be able to put police, social services, and other resources where they're most needed. Seriously, people, suing the city isn't going to produce any more or less results, it's just going to tie things up in more red tape. The problem is definitely on the people who own the shops and spaces that are keeping them empty. If they weren't making it impossible for businesses to turn a profit, so many of those spaces wouldn't be shuttered, which makes people feel like they can pitch a tent there, since it's not being used. The city needs to fix supportive housing - what used to be called sros - because they're being badly mismanaged, with no oversight, and no punitive actions for creating more homeless by evicting residents who just need a little more help to stay housed. The sro task force still exists, but they're doing zero to help anyone. Supportive housing is the first place they send the homeless when they're trying to get them indoors, but has anyone in the administration actually thought about how those places are being run? The most visible and troubled part of the homeless population in SF would and does refuse housing if it means having to live under draconian, hypocritical, and condescending building management. The PMCs break the law, the fair housing act, the disability act, left and right, but no one does anything to stop them. Last: ending homelessness in SF is a pipe dream if you don't stop other cities from giving THEIR homeless open ended bus tickets to SF, LA, Seattle, and Portland. If you think the homeless and/or open air drug use/sale problem here is worse than anywhere else, you're sadly just being short-sighted.

    Nobody is asking SF officials to build Auschwitz West, or anything close, but when we elect them to fix the City’s problems, they lecture us about the humanity of the addicts and homeless.
    The activists are even worse, fighting one man wars against capitalism and gentrification; snd more concerned with their own perceived marginalization, they use the street population as pawns in a fight with their own mental landscape, shooting down every solution presented.

    Don’t we already have a word for that? 🤔
    I’m sure you meant homeless.

      Technically, anyone who doesn't have a stable address (people between homes, couch surfing) might be considered homeless. Unhoused refers specifically to the people who are, well, unhoused and on the streets.

    Dudes lets be honest. San Francisco is an old city if it wasnt Optimum during the gold rush ,its speak easys, pot, etc. Its a city what do u expect. And one big city that doesnt have the issues mentioned. The problem is u concentrate enough wealth in an area the easier it is to live on the street. Hand outs and nice things to steal.😂 I bought a bottle in Frisco that cost double what it would in a smaller city. Had to pay alot for parking. Who the real criminal here. And who need to change.
