A Home Fry and new subscriber. Just found your channel because you reacted to Home Free. Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. Organized in a college dorm in Minnesota in 2000; they won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Two are from Minnesota, one from Georgia, one from Texas and one from Alabama (Current members, Chris left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Chance). Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way. Loved your reaction and looking forward to many more.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! I'm glad you enjoyed this. You really can't help but to become a fan of these talented guys. They have so many wonderful and fun songs to choose from. Helplessly hoping, Brothers in arms, Mayday, End of the road, and many, many other great covers. Enjoy the journey! ❤❤
If you build it, they will come. The Home Fries are a devoted bunch.(Bassman Tim Foust describes them as "rabid") 😊 I am subscribing for more Home Free. Believe me, you ain't seen nuthin yet.
Subbed for more Home Free. Home Fries are very loyal to the guys and to their reactors, as well! Boy have you hit the jackpot with them! Enjoy your journey.
I’m a new subscriber and have been listening to the Christmas music reactions, which were great! This reaction: I love how you are able to interpret the song. This is usually the first song to be listened to, and it’s always the one that grabs you and starts pulling you down the rabbit hole of Home Free. They are impressive and I hope you enjoy this journey with us!
Good reaction! And with some knowledge of the genres! (I had, at first, no idea what modern a capella was.) Subbing for more Home Free. Welcome to the deep rabbit hole called Home Free!
Great reaction Jenna! Even though they are known as the 'country' a capella band, they actually sing any and every genre (including opera). I predict that you will become a full fledged Home Fry in a very short period of time and it is a beautiful thing to see! They just announced dates for a 2024 tour and they are amazing live. Love your channel!
Love these guys. Best a cappella group out there. They have a very deep and varied catalog. Everything from country to rock to R&B to pop to funny stuff to sacred and even opera (from the 2 tenors). Enjoy the ride.
New sub because of Home Free. Welcome to the "rabbit hole" know as Home Free. Hold on and enjoy the ride. Keep reacting to HF & us "home fries" will swarm.
They’re an incredible group. The beatboxer is the best in the business. They can all beatbox to a degree and they’re all great singers. They all take the lead depending on the song. They are country but sing all genres of music. They can make you laugh or cry. For some Christmas music try O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know, Do You Hear What I Hear. Good reaction!😍😄
Just subscribed with hopes for more Home Free . They are the best! I don't even think of them as an acapella group anymore, just my favorite band now. They do a huge variety of music and each have a very impressive vocal range. Adam, the beatboxer, can't be beat. Looking forward to more Home Free reactions.
While Home Free does cover many "country" songs, they can do all genres. I recommend their cover of "End of the Road" from Boyz II Men. Home Free also loves to make their fans laugh. Check out "Life is a Highway" and "Never Gonna Give You Up" for the comic side of Home Free. And for a total departure from country music, check out Rob and Austin (the two tenors) doing "Nessun Dorma". I think you'll be shocked at Rob's ability to sing opera.
Welcome, welcome, welcome to the world of us 'Home Fries!' Hope you will be one of us too! (Actually, I have little doubt) Without a stretch, each and every member of this group is, arguably, world class in there own right. They also demonstrate a sense of ego-less thought, which allows for each and every group member to represent songs which suit any of their particular talents best. Austin Brown, a high tenor singer song-writer, who also has his own channel which is highly suggested. He has an incredible range and has displayed it many a time.... Austin shines in his performances of 'When Man Loves Woman' and 'Bring Him Home', from the score of 'Les Miserables!' - two of only many... I believe you will not be disappointed. Rob Lundquist, is another tenor with a unique timbre, who has a very flexible voice and range. Just a hugely talented, big cuddly Teddy Bear who has a terrific Gospel, Blues ability. Tim Faust, is a true Basso Profundo who has blown out many sub-woofers and speakers, live on stage. He too, has his own channel, so be sure to check him out. Believe it, or not, Tim has demonstrated a 5+ Octave range! Adam Rupp, is very simply, a freak of nature who is a world champion Beat-Boxer. He always has a unique way of expressing himself on each and every track. It is truly amazing to discover the myriad of sounds this man can produce! Adam Chance, (called Chance, as to avoid any confusion) is the newest member of this ensemble, who replaced one of the co-founders and brother of Adam Rupp named Chris Rupp. Chance has a silky-smooth voice that defies labelling. Though Home Free is a 'Country Sounding' group, they are talented enough to be able to cover and create all and any genres. Proof of this is Austin and Rob giving a performance in the Opera Genre, (more than acceptably well) titled: Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera... Home Free have had many collaborations with the Original Artists, whom are quite amazingly honoured by keeping their hits, recognizable. I am hopeful you will enjoy their offerings, without all the comparisons that others have made. How can anyone be compared with another? Just appreciate the music which all these true artists grace us with...😃
Tim Foust has a vocal range from A0 to A5, so yes a 5 octave range, but so does Geoff Castellucci his range is Bb0 to Bb5 but the record for vocal range for a male singer belongs to Tim Storms of Pierce arrow, his range is from G -7 and has a range of 10 octaves! Very little to choose between Tim Foust and Geoff Castellucci - just down to personal preference!
Ahhh yes, however, the musicality of an individual is what makes any of them listenable ---The variety of expressions and their entire body of work also registers... @@DarrellW_UK
@Darrell-72 I truly do not understand the need for comparisons. It is completely subjective - knowing that one can only recognize what one has experienced. This, in itself, is the ultimate limiting factor. Let's just enjoy what each and every true artist has to offer and not attempt to pigeon-hole anyone...
@@shihansensei983 so why make a point of his “5+ octave range”, when I leave comments about VoicePlay or Pentatonix or Dianna Ankudinova I never include their vocal range, to me it’s a bit puerile and means nothing to a listener, maybe a vocal coach or singer like The Fairy Voice mother or Elizabeth Zaroff (The Charismatic Voice) but not anyone else, no point!!
@@DarrellW_UK Then, let me put this in terms you may understand. My reference to Tim's vocal range was mentioned as I was very specifically describing Tim Faust - nothing more and nothing less. It seems you've obviously been triggered. If nothing else, I do respect your right to voice your opinions, however they may be perceived. Many singers have varying ranges, but, those who can will note that all of them have different timbers - but, that's another topic all together. The very fact that you attempted to admonish me for pointing out a positive trait, with condescending fodder, says much of your willingness to take into account the varied listening base which may have come across that particular comment. Yes, the Fairy Voice Mother and Elizabeth have interesting points they bring to bear, however, there are quite a few others (proven academics and performers) who also offer unique and interesting perspectives. Perhaps, you should read it again in its entirety....this time slower that you may truly understand - however, I refuse to be so ill-mannered enough to say this. I am saddened to have replied to this thread, as it shows a lack of higher acceptance I constantly aspire towards. I guess we all have faults.... Indeed, I offer my sincerest apologies to Koality Reactions for having to endure this.
Saw you had a reaction to Home Free, and I had to subscribe! If you continue this journey, you will not be disappointed!! They cover a little bit of everything. Super group of guys! The funny and serious sides of them..will not disappoint! Enjoy!
Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole. The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys. Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire -Tenor can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis,Minnesota Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas Austin.Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016) They have collaborated with many singers and legends Don McLean:American Pie Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message) Billy Gilman:One Voice Alabama:Christmas In Dixie Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end ) Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA Any many more. They have 3 amazing songwriters in the group Tim,Austin and Chance So they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover ) When A Loves A Woman Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece ) Unchained Melody Listen To The Music Can’t Outrun You Brothers In Arms Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin) Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1) Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2) MR (Chapter 3) Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones) Might As Well Be Me ( Original) Playing With Fire ( Original) Remember My Name (Original) Oh Pretty Woman Life Is A Highway Stand By Me Cruise I Want Crazy ( newest release) Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES ) There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet. They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is Sorry for the long read 🍟😊
These guys are spectacular! And very funny! They have a lot of Christmas songs as well. And they are good friends with the other awesome acapella band Voiceplay.
Welcome down the Home Free rabbithole. You will be in for a treat. Yes, they are country-base band but they do so much more. You will se....😊 New sub here.
To say Home Free is a really good a capella group is one of the understatements of the decade. Five gorgeous voices that meld better than should be legal. Enjoy the HF rabbit hole - it is deep AND wide. 180+ official videos, many collaborations with others, and hundreds of fan videos from concerts over the years. And after you get a taste of HF as a whole, you can branch out to their individual works, both solo and in collaboration with other fine singers/groups. Welcome - but if you aren't wearing era buds, you definitely should be using headphones/ear buds to truly appreciate those bass notes and the high harmony lines.
Now you should check out Tim Foust (the bass) collabing with Peter Hollens. They do a few together. A good start would be Misty Mountains. It's a cover from The Hobbit
You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Great reaction to Home Free, and welcome to the rabbit hole. After Christmas (since that's when I caught this), absolutely anything they have done is excellent. Their covers are definitely upgrades from the originals (or at least the most recent previous versions), their originals are excellent, and their collabs with other artist (Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Greenwood, Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Peter Hollens, Hound + Fox, etc.) are also excellent! The beatboxer, Adam Rupp, with his "nomonica" is absolutely out of this world! Thanks for this reaction - new home fry sub.
"uhhhhh, I love a bass singer" Yeah, you're gonna be a Home Fry in no time. One of the best bass singers out there. Brothers In Arms has a ton of bass singing in it by the way. Also, the main bass singer, Tim Foust, also does some solo doo-wop stuff where he shows off his full range.
Christmas songs: O’ Holy Night, Do you hear what I Hear, Mary did you know, Children go where I send Thee(with Kenny Rogers) Grandma got run over by a rain deer. The big thing you will notice is that the have fun and love what they are doing. They cover all types of music. They keep their Videos simple and do their own arrangements. Hey are all best friends and do a lot of non music together which comes across in their music.
I just subscribed to your channel and if you go down the Home Free rabbit hole you'll find that they cover all genres of music. All of the instrumentation sounds are done vocally. Adam Rupp is a world class beat boxer who provides the harmonica and drum sounds and Adam Chance is making the didgeridoo/Jews harp sound at the beginning and end of this song. If you like bass vocalist then you should check out Geoff Castellucci's cover of this song. He clones himself in order to sing 4 part harmony with himself, no kidding. It's amazing. I'm excited to see what kind of musical journey you take us on. 🙏✌️
Adam Rupp is the percussionist and he's doing the majority of instrumental-sounding bits. He is superhuman in what he does and is known as the "World's Best Beat-Boxer".
This song was also my first experience of Home Free’s singular a capella work. And just like everyone, I was very struck by it, and a lot of its greatly unique aspects, and it was clear these guys really know their stuff.
I quite like this blend of voices. PTX and VP and HF are all very talented, and which I prefer sometimes just depends on the song or the style. To stay on the Home Free train, “Folsom Prison Blues” is the obvious next pick. It’s a similar, simple video style, and the same five guys. “Christmas in LA” is funky pop. “How Great Thou Art”is traditional choral. And “Do You Hear What I Hear” focuses on the beat boxing. Left to right Rob - Chance - Austin - Adam - Tim.
New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and Stargazer Lilies trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...Their latest releases are Might As Well Be Me, Playing With Fire, Remember My Name, Oh, Pretty Woman, Cruise, Stand By Me and Life is a Highway. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!
Home Free is labeled as a country acapella group, but they can and do all genres of music. They were called a country acapella group to be the token country group in The Sing-Off, an acapella competition show. They won the competition. That was season four. Pentatonix won season three on the show. There are three main acapella groups: Pentatonix, Voiceplay, and Home Free. They are all alumni of The Sing-Off. Voiceplay was on season four with Home Free. The two groups became friends during the competition Each group is different. Someone came up with the clever idea of comparing them to high school cliques. Pentatonix are the popular kids in that they perform mainly pop music. Voiceplay are the theatrical kids. They perform primarily theatrical and movie songs complete with costumes and makeup. They are especially remarkable in that they do all aspects of their video productions themselves. Home Free are the kids tailgating in the parking lot having fun. Home Free is especially versatile in their ability to sing all genres of music Many people claim their covers are actually upgrades of the songs. Home Free also writes their own original material. They were recently commissioned to write a sea shanty for Ubisoft for the company's soon-to-be-released game Skull and Bones. They were chosen because of the popularity of their Sea Shanty Medley made during Covid. Their sea shanty Skull and Bones written by Adam Chance is outstanding. They often perform with other artists, some not so well known as well as famous ones. Home Free sings serious songs and goofy ones. They are extremely serious and dedicated to their art, but they don't take themselves too seriously. For Christmas you should check their performance with Kenny Rogers with Children Go Where I Send Thee. They have numerous Christmas songs, traditional ones, and original ones. Some of their Christmas songs are: Christmas in LA, O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know, Do You Know What I Know, Snow Globe, Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, The Warmest Winter, Cold Hard Cash, Full of Cheer
Excellent reaction first time watching you check out their covers of Ring of Fire and Folsom Prison Blues Tim turning on the bass will not disappoint later beautiful.❤️😎🇺🇸
I suggest doing the Sing Off version of Home Free's "Ring of Fire," with judges comments...Tim is even lower in that one, he has a bigger part and you can see him better (plus it's fun seeing the judges reactions to his last note 😂)
In my opinion, Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. In this song they are making a distinctly southern (country blues/bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Check out some of their Christmas songs: Oh Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear, Mary Did You Know, Snow Globe, Cold Hard Cash, Full of Cheer, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, and their newest release, Christmas in L.A. #HomeFree #HomeFreeDoesChristmasBest
If you're looking for harmonies and bass you will never leave Home Free. Adam Rupp (the beatboxer is the best there is. He even has his own beatbox videos.) and Tim Foust (the bass, has a 5 octave voice range.) There are reactors that play them weekly. If you stick with the boys regularly you will be flooded with new subscribers. (New subscriber for more More Home Free.)
you can pick any homefree song and its fire if you want a Christmas one i would suggest snow globe that's my favorite one and its not a cover its a original written by the bass Tim Foust
Welcome to Home Free. Sit back and enjoy one of the best times you'll ever have. Your ears are gonna love ya. Some suggestions : cover songs.. I want Crazy, Cruise, The Driver, and Talk a little less...originals, So Long Dixie, When you walk in, Lonely Girls World & Stargazer Lillies
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. It runs very deep. All the sounds you hear come from their mouths. They do different genres. Check out their cover of Road of The Road by BoyZ II Men. It will blow your mind! They also have originals as well. They are pure, raw talent. Do not do Mayday until you hear other songs and get used to the vocal parts. Love your reaction!
Great reaction. I love Home Free! 4:28 To answer your question: Bass singer’s name is Tim Faust. I really love bass too. Two more acapella groups you’ll want to react to at some point on your reaction journey… VoicePlay (Geoff Castellucci does bass. He also has his own UA-cam channel where he does solo work that is not acapella) The other acapella group is Pentatonix. Avi does bass or Matt does bass, depending on the year. Avi is especially amazing. Many people want Tim, Geoff and Avi to do a song together. I don’t know…I feel like that would make the bass sound lose it’s specialness because there wouldn’t be that counterpoint or juxtaposition to compare the low notes to within the song. But first…a Dan Vasc reaction please!❤ (Amazing Grace or Adeste Fideles because it’s close to Christmas.)
Not sure if you realized that they were also beat-boxing the percussion sounds as well as creating the Jew’s harp sound effects in addition to the “harmonica”. 😎👍
Yeah I know what beat boxing is, but people seem to be calling the replica of instruments beat boxing as well... so I did already notice that, yes! (I've heard a lot of acapella stuff, because I'm a big fan! Happy to have found this group!!)
Tim Foust is their bass and his bass buddy from VoicePlay Geoff Castellucci has also done a cover of this song on his channel where he does LOW bass covers. Geoff also arranged Elvira for home free to sing with the Oakridge Boys. Home Free and VoicePlay have done a fun collaboration and single members have appeared in VoicePlay videos.
I subbed for the Sabaton cover of Motorhead 1916 and now you've made a home-fry very happy too :) Standard Home-Fry request that you avoid Mayday until you're more familiar with the group.
Don't wait for Mayday - just do it immediately after Brothers in Arms and understand the first singer in both songs is the same man. I think that is the only thing really special about Mayday. I love Chance and what he has added since he joined, but I don't find his part all the amazing. He hit a bass note that is well within his range. He was a bass for his previous group. Plus, I believe that his bass note was double tracked because of the jump in volume (might be wrong). Tim's part at the beginning is the mind blowing part.
The top 3 groups on youtube are definitely Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voiceplay. Voiceplay's bass singer also does his own solo stuff that is equally phenomenal. His name is Geoff Castellucci. Im sure you'll get plenty of suggestions to react to for all of them.
First lead singer is Austin Brown, tenor. Second lead singer is Rob Lundquist, tenor. The beatboxer is Adam Rupp, who also will sing backup at times. The bass is Tim Foust (5 octave range- bass to tenor). The fourth singer and jew harp performer is Adam Chance, known as Chance, baritone/bass (4 octave range - tenor to bass).
Welcome to the Home Fries! This is a VERY deep rabbit hole. There's only one mistake you can make with Home Free -- listening to "Mayday" too soon. You don't get maximum enjoyment from this great performance until you know all the guys and their voices. For most reactors, that's 6 to 8 reactions to other HF performances. It's also an excellent idea to listen to female country vocalist Cam perform the original -- ua-cam.com/video/eRrCMEXPjWo/v-deo.html When you listen to HF's all-male version, note that they perform it in the same key as Cam! As others have commented, all members of this group have amazing voices...and there's Adam Rupp--one of the best beat boxers in the world. You just had good introductions to Austin Brown (high tenor), Rob Lundquist (tenor), and Tim Foust (basso profondo.) Adam is a human drum kit. During HF's live shows, he does a "drum solo." One of those drum solos is here ( ua-cam.com/video/EanKWLUaDpg/v-deo.html ) Finally, a CAUTION: HF's cover of the 1966 Percy Sledge soul classic "When a Man Loves a Woman" ( ua-cam.com/video/-pygPmfGQvU/v-deo.html ) has a tendency to turn female listeners (all ages) into a speechless puddle. :-)
I absolutely love this version of this song, it's my favorite. Also have you listened to voice play - Valhalla calling me? If you haven't, think you'll love it 😉
Just found you because you reactec to my favorite group, Home Free! Really enjoyed your enlightened commentary and subscribed for more Home Free 🙏 I'm going to check out your Twitch channel as well, as I also play a few games, mostly 7Days2Die (Zombie apocalypse).
Then, after Brothers immediately (for best effect) watch Home Free's Mayday and realize that same man is the first singer in both songs. Everyone says wait for Mayday, but if you wait too long, you lose the effect.
The bass is Tim Faust and you can listen to him and Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix) hit some very nice low notes on Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire. You will find Home free does more than country but do not listen to Mayday until you have a handle on each of their voices, otherwise you won't be as happy about it as you should. Some songs that feature each of them taking a lead are Auld Lang Syne, Die a Happy Man, and One Man Band. Of course, if you just want to smile and bop check out Listen to the Music. To laugh check out The Butts Remix (be familiar with the videos for Baby Got Back and Honky Tonk Badonkadonk first) or All About That Bass (check out Trainer's original video first). To listen to them emulate a church pipe organ try Brothers in Arms and to cry it's Go Rest High on that Mountain.
Home Free. With this song they've turned me into a man of constant listening. You are one of the few reactors to this song who gives credit to the lyrics of the song. Loved that! Only one thing: I would appreciate it if you would cite them a little bit slower.
Check out Home Free's Christmas music, since it's the right time of the year. You won't be disappointed. And concerning Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) the running joke is that other beatboxers have swallowed a percussion set,...Adam swallowed an entire soundboard.
I do like this version of it, I’ve heard it before! It’s difficult to choose between these, Pentatonix and VoicePlay! If push came to shove I would go for VoicePlay, and Geoff their bass singer is dope, one of their best songs is from Skyrim - The Dragon born comes! Enjoyed you reaction and breakdown.
Tim Foust of Home Free has helped Geoff further develop his bass-y-ness. Very few, if any, has a better resonance than Tim. They are not competitors, rather, they are all true artists constantly growing.
A man bidding farewell to all he knows and loves. The line about riding that Northern Railroad (an underground group that helped slaves escape to freedom), and perhaps dying on it, and coming a stranger and you’ll never see my face no more, suggests he is a slave preparing to run. To me, with that story in mind, all the lines and even the confusing blend of sadness and excited anticipation in the songs tone make perfect sense
The movie O Brother, Where Art Thou is loosely based on Homer’s Odyssey and has a tremendous soundtrack featuring many of the greats of country and bluegrass musicians. I often listen to the CD and remember what was on the screen while that song was playing. Thank you for reacting to Home Free’s version. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of new subscribers now, including me.
Sub'd because of this HF reaction.....I just want to see you get wow'd by what they can do....For vocal meshes....Nothing beats Helplessly Hoping...a Crosby, Stills & Nash cover.
New Sub. Great reaction to my favourite band! Nevermind that they’re a “vocal band” they’re just fantastic and most songs - except for those without any percussion - you forget they’re a cappella at all. #HomeFree never disappoint!
It was actually on someone else's reaction to this song that I saw a comment pointing out that the line, "I'm bound to ride that northern railroad" was referring to the Underground Railroad, and suddenly the song took on a whole new dimension for me!
Pick your favorite genre, Home Free does it. We the fans are Home Fries 🍟 Home Free is Austin Brown tenor 1 Rob Lundquist tenor 2 Adam Chance Baritone Tim Foust Bass Adam Rupp Beatboxer
Oh I do hope you do more Home Free! I love how you look at the video, the lyrics and the music.
I love your reaction. Home Free is the best in everything they do.
I LOVE LOVE their version of Folsom Prison OMG its SO very worth a reaction.
Love that song so I think I'll have to do a reaction to their cover!!
Good reaction! And with some knowledge of the genres! (I had, at first, no idea what modern a capella was.) Subbing for more Home Free. Welcome to the deep rabbit hole called Home Free!
To hear Tim really hit some bass notes, try Ring of Fire by Home Free with Avi Kaplan and Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust
Wait till you watch them sing Boyz to Men End of the Road! Rob kills it!!! ❤
we definitely need more home free! another song you might know is "when a man loves a woman" and they absolutely KILL IT
I'm gonna recommend, "Helplessly Hoping".😊
If you EVER get the chance to see Home Free in concert.......DO IT!!
Love these guys. Best a cappella group out there. They have a very deep and varied catalog. Everything from country to rock to R&B to pop to funny stuff to sacred and even opera (from the 2 tenors). Enjoy the ride.
Talking about the melding of voices, these guys are great, check out their version of Helplessly Hoping.
Wonderful analysis! I definitely want to see more.
Try their version of O Holy Night. It's stunning. Tim, bass, arranged it as a teenager. Welcome to the Home Fry train.
Home Free!! The best of the very best! Tim, Austin, Chance, Rob and Adam! Subbed for more of the guys!!
Great reaction! Welcome to the Home Free Train. They have done some great Christmas songs.
I love seeing first time reactions to Home Free, especially this song.
Glad your diving down this genre and band. Home Free is great!
Thanks Thunder 🤍
Thank you. # HOMEFREE. I’m subscribing now. I’m here for this group. Have a great day
Tim Foust, their bass singer, has a five octave range so he can go as high as he can low, he's a musical beast.
@Darrell-72
I truly do not understand the need for comparisons.
@@DarrellW_UK
Then, let me put this in terms you may understand.
Enjoy!
This is their most popular song. These boys are so talented and can sing any genre. 💗💗💗
You only have just begun with this group. You will become a home fry. They are the best out there. They are so versatile. It's just insane.
Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole.
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.

They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is
Sorry for the long read 🍟😊
New sub here because of your reaction to home free. Welcome to the rabbit hole! Great reaction!
These guys are spectacular! And very funny! They have a lot of Christmas songs as well. And they are good friends with the other awesome acapella band Voiceplay.
Trust me, you will NOT regret checking out more Home Free!
Welcome down the Home Free rabbithole. You will be in for a treat. Yes, they are country-base band but they do so much more. You will se....😊
New sub here.
Oooh don’t worry, I’ve got ear buds! The sound is deep in my earballs! Sounds magnificent. 😂🤍
Home Free will blow you away. They never miss on a song.
I mentioned the movie in my reaction, actually. So I knew that!
It is quite a wonderful version. The last time I was on your channel you were doing Marcelito Pomoy. So much musical talent to explore
Found you because of Home Free. Great reaction.
You will like their versions of "Do You Hear What I Hear", "O Holy Night", and "My Church" among many, many others. Welcome to our rabbit hole !
Welcome to the rabbit hole. These guys are amazing and just as good live. Pick anything they do and it's fire 🔥
"uhhhhh, I love a bass singer"
Yeah, you're gonna be a Home Fry in no time. One of the best bass singers out there. Brothers In Arms has a ton of bass singing in it by the way.
Also, the main bass singer, Tim Foust, also does some solo doo-wop stuff where he shows off his full range.
Can't wait for her to discover Pentatonix and Voiceplay.
I've heard some Pentatonix before, but I've never heard Voiceplay. Very excited!
That instrument was called a "No-monica" 😉
Hahahaha
And Adam also "plays" the casta-nots.
This is an amazing rabbit hole! Try their "End of The Road" or "When a Man Loves a Woman" and you will be on your way to becoming a Home Fry..
Left to right
Rob - Chance - Austin - Adam - Tim.
Thank you!! And thank you for all the tips, really appreciate it!
@@KoalityReactionsgreat recommendations!
♥️😍🤠HF amazing. Great reaction ♥️. 🏠🍟
The two groups became friends during the competition
Each group is different.
Great reaction!
Excellent reaction first time watching you check out their covers of Ring of Fire and Folsom Prison Blues Tim turning on the bass will not disappoint later beautiful.❤️😎🇺🇸
They do covers of Johnny Cash songs?! VERY EXCITED! Thank you!
I suggest doing the Sing Off version of Home Free's "Ring of Fire," with judges comments...Tim is even lower in that one, he has a bigger part and you can see him better (plus it's fun seeing the judges reactions to his last note 😂)
@@KoalityReactions Yes they do and you’re welcome.❤️
Just subscribed for Home Free. You’re in for a treat! Try their rendition of “Do you hear what I hear?”
Yes I am definitely doing this for Christmas next week!!! Can’t wait! 🎄
This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Check out some of their Christmas songs: Oh Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear, Mary Did You Know, Snow Globe, Cold Hard Cash, Full of Cheer, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, and their newest release, Christmas in L.A.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole enjoy the ride and us home fries will be with you
They're awsome, as is your reaction to this musical gem. . . RING OF FIRE IS NEXT... ridiculously good. Mucho ❤
✌👍🙏🖖🇩🇰🇺🇸🏴☠️
Great reaction. I love Home Free!
4:28 To answer your question: Bass singer’s name is Tim Faust. I really love bass too.
Two more acapella groups you’ll want to react to at some point on your reaction journey…
VoicePlay (Geoff Castellucci does bass. He also has his own UA-cam channel where he does solo work that is not acapella)
The other acapella group is Pentatonix.
Jews harp or Digeridoo?
Their version of “ Brothers in Arms “ is nothing short of a vocal masterpiece- would highly highly recommend
I subbed for the Sabaton cover of Motorhead 1916 and now you've made a home-fry very happy too :)
Standard Home-Fry request that you avoid Mayday until you're more familiar with the group.
Tim's part at the beginning is the mind blowing part.
these guys are very good I cant pick between them and pentatonix I really like acapella groups also so thanks I enjoyed completely
That was awesome! This is the second of your reactions. Subscribing!
Just subbed for more Home Free!!
During HF's live shows, he does a "drum solo." One of those drum solos is here ( ua-cam.com/video/EanKWLUaDpg/v-deo.html )
Finally, a CAUTION: HF's cover of the 1966 Percy Sledge soul classic "When a Man Loves a Woman" ( ua-cam.com/video/-pygPmfGQvU/v-deo.html ) has a tendency to turn female listeners (all ages) into a speechless puddle. :-)
Thank you for all the tips!!! Noted. 🤍
Up next for Christmas from Home Free ........Do You Hear What I hear.
Awe thank you, I appreciate that! I also love the horror games - it’s what I mostly play! Just finished Resident Evil.
If you like the bass, check out Brothers in Arms from Home free.
Then, after Brothers immediately (for best effect) watch Home Free's Mayday and realize that same man is the first singer in both songs. Everyone says wait for Mayday, but if you wait too long, you lose the effect.
This song was originally recorded in 1928, I believe 😊
Subbed for more Home Free - I hope you decide to go down the rabbit hole!
Tims bass is so smooth that most people don't seem to even hear him
Very nice reaction 👍
Sincere reaction.
Nice. It'd be interesting to see more Blue Grass reactions. I spent a lot of my life listening to blue grass.
You definitely need to do more "Homefree" and if you love acapella then another group you must check out is "Voiceplay"!!!
Sub'd because of this HF reaction.....I just want to see you get wow'd by what they can do....For vocal meshes....Nothing beats Helplessly Hoping...a Crosby, Stills & Nash cover.
Helplessly Hoping
Tks for the prompt! FIX'D
@@sallycripe2697
They do Ring of fire by Johnny Cash, Folsom prison blues, and Elvira with The oak ridge boys
