Songs not over till you hear Tom say "That was fun."
Tom Petty was an incredible songwriter and musician, but I think that he was one of the most underrated performers in rock. He always put on a great show. His ability to keep the audience captivated by his performance even in his later years after his youthful energy was gone speaks volumes of his charisma and stage presence. Truly one of the greatest of all time. He will be missed by everyone whose life was made better by his music. And for that, he has achieved immortality. RIP Tom Petty.
I fell in love with him in the early 80's. That love continues even to this day.
The only thing that would be better than this is if he were still here with us. This guy was the real deal. And the Heartbreakers are one of the best bands ever on the planet.

Amazing that this song was recorded in 1982, but never released on an album until after his passing. For any other artist, this song would be a career making single. Tom Petty.... just another tuesday.

Never met Tom personally but he was in my car, my house, garage and he still IS. I've lost a friend that I will remember forever as a FRIEND.
Much as I love hearing a new vintage Petty song, I wish he was still here with us!
Me, my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend were blessed to be able to see Tom Petty in concert last summer at Wrigley Field. Little did we know then that Tom's time here with us was limited. This video helps us all to remember. I raised my daughter listening to a lot of Tom Petty. His music is part of the fabric of our lives. This song/video takes me back and evokes many memories...all good. It makes me smile as I watch/listen! He may be gone, but will always be in our hearts, forever loved, and never forgetten.

I feel like I have lost a family member in Tom Petty’s passing. Thank you putting together the American Treasure box set I can’t wait for September 28. R.I.P. Tom.
I honestly never thought I would cry over an artist passing away, but I ended up crying twice over Tom...I heard on the radio he died, and I cried. Then I heard he was on life support and I felt better and thought he would come through. Then the official report that he was off life support and gone hit me again. So I cried twice for the Gainesville native...thank you so much for the great jams and lines that makes life make sense. Cheers to you sir.

I hope nobody minds my saying that Tom Petty is a 'World Treasure'. This guy spent 40 years travelling the world. He brought his brilliant words and music with him wherever he went, over all those decades. He transcends statehood, really. And this is just such an amazing and unexpected gift. So grateful for it.
