No, the root cause is the apartheid regime in Israel. They're being opposed by antizionists on college campuses and it's being misconstrued as antisemitism for political gain by republicans. The same people who were crying about "free speech on college campuses" when Richard Spencer was advocating for an Israel-style white ethnostate in north america are now trying to shut down student protests (again) when the politics don't line up with theirs.

Critical theory is a big reason for the rise of identity politics. The basis of the theory is that you divide people into groups and draw differences amongst them, rather than similarities. When that is the thought process, humanity is the sacrifice.
Don't blame the politicians. Blame the people want recognition for being who they are. Hard to fathom I know. In case you don't know our history....no one thing is at the root of something. It takes many things coming together to create any kind of movement. I know people love the easy, I believe in what my mind tells me...I must be right, opinions as facts. We really need unbiased judges to settle disputes of what really is and what really is not antisemitism. Today many equilibrated and fair criticism about how Israel is collaterally killing thousands of innocent Palestinian and inflicting collective punishment to the Palestine people. Sometimes the cries of “antisemitism” are really in many instances attempts to impunity of illegal acts, from the International Law point of view.

Like most University administrators, they will say what is needed to support one another, regardless of how disgusting the dialogue is, with the goal of hiring one another when their terms are up. Its only about ensuring they can move onto the next position, surrounded by sycophants. The Board of Governors, or similar body, must fire these clowns and deal with hate speech pragmatically and quickly, within the boundaries of state and federal law, and University policy concerning hate speech should mimic these laws. I’m GenX and American, I can remember very vividly being at the park when I was young and seeing a man with a faded tattoo number on his arm. I asked my family about it and the answer I never forgot. After that I was fortunate enough to visit Germany and went to the Dachau concentration camp. As an adult, I am now married to a man whose grandfather was the only family member to make it out of Germany alive. He married a Christian and never much wanted to talk about the past (from what I’ve been told as I never met him). I’m Christian but I make sure my kids know of their ancestors past. It’s really disturbing to me to see what is happening in the US and other western countries. May we reverse identity politics and proceed in unity before we wind up on an irreversible path. 🙏
